One of the best covers ever done. Even Paul Simon complimented him on it. I hope he does more music like this in the future that shows off his clean sound because he has an incredible voice.
Disturbed does actually do some songs that are cleaner like this. Check out Hold on to memories, Already Gone and Uninvited Guest. Are some recent ones.
As a kid in the 60 I remember the song to be. Great then but now at 62 years old David puts a real warning of the times much has changed in the years I have lived thank you GT
He was extremely sick with the flu and the band made him sit for fear he would pass out. One of the Conan producers chose to throw autotune in a couple of spots and it infuriated David.
-Draiman covers roughly two-and-a-half octaves from bottom to top. His vocals are so distinctive. -Disturbed had been nominated for a GRAMMY for Best Rock Performance for their rendition of "The Sound of Silence" while appearing on Conan. -David Draiman: "The fact that I was sick as a dog (laughs). I remember I was definitely fighting something off, but it was a cool experience. It was cool performing with an actual orchestra. It was really vibing and the mood helped, I think, enhance the delivery. The stars just aligned that night and everything went right." - How Paul Simon Felt To Have Disturbed Transform Classic Song to Heavy Metal ruclips.net/video/ntNfwoKD0XA/видео.html -
Every video of a reaction towards this song always has the comments about either him having the flu, a voice like a god or that the original was a whisper and this is the rage from the ignored warning....
A 1965 song written by Paul Simon re-released in 2015 by Disturbed; datz 50 years later!! This is beyond awesome this is probably the best cover EVER!!! Hands down, my favorite song these past 5 years!! Disturbed's video for this was also knocked out of this Universe... so much emotion, powerful imagery and just an overall amazing performance by a band that most folks had no clue how awesome the singer was!! INCREDIBLE!!! \m/
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 Disturbed!!!! David draiman has one of THE BEST voices, this isn't typical of disturbed, songs like prayer, indestructible, stricken, inside the fire & down with the sickness are all 🔥🎸🎶🔥🎸🎶🔥🎸🎶🔥🎸🎶
If you love his voice in this song, please react to Disturbed - Hold on to the Memories. It is inspired by Mexican holiday Day of the Dead. Amazing song!
David Draiman spent the first couple of decades of his life traveling around the US and Israel training to be a cantor, like his father, and his world-famous grandfather. It's one thing to be a professionally trained vocalist, being a cantor is much more difficult. Remember, this song was an anti-war protest song written by Simon & Garfunkle in 1964.
Peter Hollens and Tim Foust (bass singer from Home Free) did a cover of the original version. It’s also beautiful. Disturbed KILLED this. My favorite of all their songs (and I like their other stuff, as well).
Thanks for this review pal I really enjoyed it and also subscribed but in my opinion that's one of the best live performances of all time and considering he was I'll with the flu at the time makes it all the more impressive, without doubt he is one of the best vocalists on the planet!
Another great reaction. And the band name is perfect for this song , because I get Disturbed every time I hear it . I have a trifecta request for you because you are the only one who could appreciate them . All 3 are by7 Dr Hook. Carry Me Carrie , Get My Rocks Off , and I'm going to apologize because a fourth one crept in . 3 is Penicillin Penny , and the creeper was Freaking At The Freakers Ball . I'd so much like to hear your reactions to them . TYVM for your time and great reactions . Keep em coming . Yes , I know my spelling sucks .
Just as people have said you need to also react to the official video. Just as in this performance where it starts with his voice and layer's up adding different instruments and Davids voice getting more and more intense the video is a whole new dimension and layer to the song And It really carries the weight of his words. Speaking of the weight of his words, David was raised as an orthodox Jew. That means you are Very observant. He is a classically trained singer because he was trained to be a cantor for the synagogue. The cantor sings back everything the rabbi just read from the torah. Needless to say Having a cantor for your synagogue Is something really special. But he left being a cantor to pursue his own music. Art Imitates life. Years ago, Actually maybe 2 decades ago, there was a movie called the jazz singer with Neil diamond. Neil diamond is a cantor and that is the family business. He wants to leave that to pursue his own music which is jazz. If you get a chance please react to some Neil diamond. He is Ageless. Yes disturbed is heavy metal and in an interview that you can find on RUclips David says that it took them a couple of years to come up with the exact arrangement That they wanted for the sound of silence. I'm really glad that you didn't shy away from heavy metal Because the impression I get is a lot of reactors are scared of it. And just as David shows, some of the best voices Belong to singers in heavy metal groups.
so i heard he was sick and pacing and sweating right before the performance. came down with the sickness i guess.... wha ah ah ah...show must go on...boy did it

Only cover of this song simon and Garfunkel endorsed

The man has a voice like no other....a voice to die for! He can go octave to octave, clear as a bell to grit/gravel ON A DIME!
#MoreThanMusic
He was evidently sick when he performed it. You can't tell though, he nailed it!
Temp of 102 with the flu. Still crushed the song
As a kid in the 60 I remember the song to be. Great then but now at 62 years old David puts a real warning of the times much has changed in the years I have lived thank you GT
Original was the warning
This is a angry we told you
Why are you not listening
Damm I love this version
Yes!! Awesome voice!!! Amazing control !!! One voice in a lifetime!!!
He was extremely sick with the flu and the band made him sit for fear he would pass out. One of the Conan producers chose to throw autotune in a couple of spots and it infuriated David.
Yikes
Yes David was very p@##ed
When he found out
everybody gets goose bumps.

The neon god, indeed.

Lol David was classically trained in a monastery & sang with monks.
Live. No Auto tune. And he was sick!! 😊 My fav band since 2000!

@@GTReactions Yes I did enjoy the reaction!

You should listen to Darkness from Disturbed, who said that they did not know he can sing like this never listened to that song.
I will try to check it out
@@GTReactions Cool. Is one of their older songs.
This surprised me, too. I love it.
hope you enjoyed the reaction
First time watching your show. Enjoyed it alot!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Just wait , it gets better...!
The gravel had to come in the end. Try Chris Stapleton for gravel coated in honey. He's Nashville style country and well worth a listen.
Great reaction 🤗 I subscribed.
Thank you!! 😁
David is a classically trained Jewish Cantor. Conan's backstage crew came out to watch this.

Didn't your mom tell you, if you kept your face like that all the time, it will freeze that way? 😝
This is my number one favourite song. Number two is Bad Wolfes-Zombie and 3 is Guns'n Roses-November Rain
Your voice needs to be softer and Disturbed needs to be louder
sorry bout that
Can I ask why you have such a pissed off look on your face as you listen
