- Cleaned and hard turned this old 4 jaw chuck and jaws on my Okuma LS.
Even when its a independed chuck, it's still important to have the faces of the jaws parallel with the chuck / spindle.
I will grind the inside clamping part of the jaws in the future. - Наука
Clearance is clearance. Well said sir. Keep up the good work.
Nice to have your back, Bart!
Thanks, still there. I'm a little bit more active on Instagram these days but will keep sharing on YT for some bigger projects.
Nice job Paul!!

Leuke video Bart. Had je al een tijdje gemist hier op RUclips. 👍🏻
Hi Bart, hope you are keeping well. Super cleanup of your jaw makes it look nearly new, and ready for another long life. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work.
Thanks Pedro. And I'm doing very well.
Mooi en duidelijke video
Ga zo door man !!!
Bedankt!
Gday Bart, looks like a brand new chuck now, excellent job mate and thanks for sharing, cheers
Thanks Matty, Cheers!
Aussie Aussie Aussie.
From junk to very usable. Really nice work! As usual….
Thanks!
At least it will be very easy to swap chucks. Just two tiny shims, and you can crank it right off with the cross slide!
Yes it is. Fun fact is that his chuck is a lot lighter than the Forkhardt but almost 100mm bigger. Just a very simple cast iron design.
finally !! nice work thnx
Thanks Ben!
Hello Bart! How is the new father doing? Hope everyone is healthy. Stay safe. Cheers
Yes doing very good 👍👍
Nice, but how did you clean up the back where it mates with the lathe?
Thanks. Most of the mounting is done on the taper. The back face was not too bad. I took of a few little high points with a flatstone.
sandvick is a very bad quality recycled insert dont use it.. for cast iron-steel you will need an insert without burr relief
