    Does it matter how you hit the axe? I imagine the axe's hitbox is square like everything else, so it would be faster to hit the front edge than the top. But it would kinda suck to have a perfect run and then lose a couple of frames because you hit the top of the axe, especially if Bowser's pattern necessitates it.

    • @Kosmicd12
      @Kosmicd12  5 лет назад +30

      You want to hit the axe as far left as possible and will lose 1 frame for each pixel farther to the right you land on it. There are about 4 spots you can land on the axe without losing any time.

    I CANNOT solve the puzzle of the trick explained at 23:03. I've yet to do it successfully. I'm almost positive I'm holding down left for too long, but I just can't figure out the perfect timing yet. Any alternate tips for this spot?

    • @TylerDunphy
      @TylerDunphy 4 года назад

      well if you want to you can just run full speed into the side of the pipe and then jump up as soon as you can. It will lose some significant time but you can still get a 4:59!

      That's a completely different game. Fireworks work differently, many levels are changed slightly, several levels are replaced by levels from The Lost Levels, time counts down and gives you points after castle levels, the world 4 warp zone only goes to world 6, etc.

    Kosmic I’ve been trying to play this on my wii U using the crappy big handhold unit with the screen built in. I’m struggling to do pipe jumps, the tight koopa jump on 1-2 (followed by two goombas) and the stairs....it feels like there is a lag from when I hit the jump button. Have you ever played that the Wii U version like that? Just wondered if this is known as a difficult way to play it?
    If you do have some free time and you’re bored I’d really appreciate if you could look at my channel as I’ve just done a video starting to look at learning to speed running this game. Not trying to promote my channel as I only do all this for fun.
    Hope you had a great Christmas Kosmic. Happy new year for 2018. Will you be trying to break the record in 2018?
