- The desert heat is slowing things down a bit, but there is still gold in them thar hills and if one gets out early the desert is more hospitable. I am using the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 this hunt since I am raking a shallow wash for missed pickers.

Love spending time with you so chill and relaxed. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast in the Gold diggin' game. Just got a Goldmaster today and have been playing around with it. No gold yet, never expected any, as I was just digging around some backfill behind a school learning really. Was surprised to find targets 6 or 8 inches deep. The 4 hour drive to gold country has me excited to see the machine and myself in action, haha. Thanks for sharing!
Have fun!
"Quiet. Almost feels like you're breaking the rules making any kind of noise."
Many thanks!
Eureka Yeee Haaa
Go the Mighty Minelab Gold Monster.
Cheers Famo59 👍🍺🤓⛏
Oh yeah!
That’s a good little wash good luck when you sample it !!!!
Bill I have watched a number of your videos and have learned a lot from you. I will be moving to Scottsdale Arizona around the middle of June this year 2023 and have been coin hunting since 1986. Looks like the Minelab Monster 1000 will be my go to machine. Thank you for all your instruction and insight to gold nugget hunting. I believe when I will hit the ground running and at a slow pace that is and will be more successful because of you Sir. Maybe some day I can meet up with you, because like you said it the desert can kill you and I believe it will be better to have someone to hunt with.
Happy Hunting and here is to finding the BIG GOLD!!!
Rob
"I'll never get that feeling of finding that first nugget again, so I live vicariously through you folks," ..... smarty-pants 🧐
watching again !!!!
SWEET......Cholla behind...cats claw to the left.and right...sharp bedrock under you...and you got it!!! Got to love digging in those narrow washes. :)
Thanks for the video, Bill. Keep it cool and keep showing the rest of us how it's done.
Will do!
Your amazing with that machine. I tell everyone I know who has a monster to watch your videos. Always a good watch thanks
I appreciate that!
Cheers mate. Regards from New Zealand.
Bill, got me going! Up in Idaho in the coolness, but I have a dry washer and a Goldmonster , so I might just have to start moving that direction!

Sweet adventure sweet area for sure score oh ya awesome determination fantastic to see more knowledge yup it is about respect the land weather and wild life awesome thank you
Keep these videos coming Bill, I really enjoy them. I'll be using my new (to me) gold monster this weekend in Idaho.
I'm just starting to learn a bit about prospecting and I find your videos to be for real. I appreciate your frankness in the methods and results you show. I plan on being successful and having a realistic picture what I may expect will help in my success as I already know the harder and longer I work the more lucky I'll be. Thanks again, I'm learning some really good stuff from you.
Thank you very much Tommy and glad to help
Another great video.. thanks for all you do
My pleasure!
Down here in Tucson watching the mountain burn. It is amazing how your detector gets the tiny bits.
Good morning Bill , well looks like you were having a great morning out there before it really got hot ! Like you said you need to be careful and go slow while your out walking in the desert and bring plenty of water with you because it doesn't take long to sweat it out here . Looking forward to seeing your next video.
Nice gold and thank you for sharing.
Score!!! Oh there’s nothing better than a nice little nugget out of the ground! Congrats on the gold today Bill! Great video as usual👍🏻 Be safe Bill and HH🎧⛏
Thanks 👍
Love your videos. Mesa, AZ here and just about ready to pull the trigger on a GM1000. Thank you for all that you do
Right on and let me know when ready I'll give you a good deal
It seems you found a very good spot!!! Keep us posted, please. Thanks for another awesome show. Your New Field Guide is on it's way. Hope you find it suitable. Todd
Always enjoy seeing the plant life, rocks and scenery as you are out searching. Thanks for showing those holders you use in your buggy to hold your detectors. I was looking at making my own but that will save me a lot of aggravation lol. Wow, you really hit the jackpot on some beautiful nuggets. Congratulations. Wishing you, Tammy and Bruno all the best. Good luck, happy hunting and take care.
Thank you Shawn and good hunting!
Always great videos! Found my first piece of gold (can’t call it a nugget, tiny) about a month ago due in large part to your videos and particularly the gm1000 videos. It’s a great detector and my first detector but like Mr Southern says, I definitely had to take the time to learn it. I also had a seasoned prospector tell me to check certain dry wash tailings piles on the club claim, so that really helped. The gm1000 does make that whapoo pop sound and it’s distinctive when you hear it, but if you never have, that machine can fool you.
Aint retirement grand !!! Super video Bill , keep em coming !
Quiet is nice..5 gold nuggets is even better ...glad to see you finding gold
That's what I'm talking about first thing in the morning you must love it as much as I do someday we might hit the big one happy hunting my friend
I haven't had sardines and hot sauce since I was in the Army eating that stuff during long training exercises! Blast from the past haha Exciting video!
Great information thank you very much
You are very welcome Mark
Just got back from 5 days in the sonoran desert {dome rock rd area, nugget road area and WAYYY back in Kofa}, found our 2nd nugget, cleaned up most the desert floor from its minute trash, and had an AWESOME time... Just love Arizona! Noticed your videos, i have my monster as well, nothing but good times regardless!
That is awesome!
Nice AU fam. GOLD SQUAD OUT!!!
Five hours in the Sonoran Desert is good for anybody this time of year.
Bill I’d like to see you dry wash that area cause there’s got to be a lot of small gold. Great video
Great video, I definitely need to slow my roll, thanks for the tips. Heavy pans.
The scraping of the scoop calms my nerves. I love it
Nice way to spend the morning,as always good vid.besafe take care👍😎🇺🇸
Persistence! Perseverance! Patience! Call it what you will that's what it takes. And yes slow and slower when it comes to that coil. I always tell people in the lessons I do that if you think you're going slow enough go a little slower. You can't go too slow. It's really a case of not how much ground you cover but how well you cover the ground that you go over. Great video Bill as usual!
CONGRATS on the Small Pickers!! You definitely were PERSISTENT!! WTG!! NamVetLesTreasureSeeker.
Nice little wash and so close to the source I bet there’s at least a half ounce of fines in there sounds like a good spot to hit this winter when the heat is gone a dry wash video from you would be cool and as you know just say when And I’d shovel till my arms fell off 😃 great video as always my friend see you on the next one
Could be
The Saguaro you showed was one of our trivia night questions last night.
I enjoy watching your channel my friend. I'm in Idaho gold country but end up chasing more coins and relics here. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks 👍
Great video keep them coming 👍
Thanks, will do!
that machine is a monster for sure, amazing gold.
Love your video's. Just subscribed...
Have to do the same thing these days in old hydraulic pits with raking down the rocks that the old timers stacked up on bedrock up out of the ravines.
nice job mate
Find that glitter....good adventure
was horsing around with my gold monster I always have $8 in placer gold (.16) and it was making the gold monster sound off BAD ASS !!!!!!!! most can't pick up fines (very small pieces) I was waving it over the little specimen bottle but it was picking it up GLAD I GOT ONE !!!!!!!! thanks for all the tips have a good day boss
wow bill you did great today my friend sometimes the gold dont want to be found lol
Love your videos would really like to start prospecting!
Nice video! Thx.
Thank you too!
That's what I'm talking about, too! Cheers! I just received my GM-1000 today! Woo Hoo! Except, I live in Texas. Hahahhaa... Cars are here for a reason....
nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
Cool method for detecting.
That funny signal sounds like a wobble pop...lol
Been metal detecting for years but never hunted for gold specifically so its time to go next level and buy a gold machine...I like the Gold Monster and for the price seems an adequate place to start...cheers keep up the good vids I've learned quite a bit just from watching your channel!!! Cheers and respect for the way you treat the critters you come across...
Good luck! and have Gold Monsters in stock if ya need one.
@@NUGGETSHOOTER as soon as I'm ready to pull the trigger I will buy one from you!!! Good hunting!
I sure look forward to detecting again this winter! How you tolerate the heat I'll never know. Do you think you'll be able to have your November outing or will virus sniffle that ? Great job on the video!!
Love sardines! The perfect meal.
Keep your eye out snakes Bill !!
Sure is a very good tool finding them small of targets
Great video!! Congratulations. I love it your videos. Bill I called to Roland a couple days ago. I'm looking a second hand Gpz 7000 for buy it.
Good luck!
Bill, Before you throw those little ones back, I’ve got an address where you can send them. That looked like fun.
Good day
Have a nice day
You too
Sardines in hot sauce! Good any time anywhere in the desert or 75 miles offshore!
Hey Bill I've been watching you for quite awhile now and I have to say I like your style! I like that you appreciate all that surrounds you nature is really pretty amazing. The wife and I are taking some time off the weekend of the forth and would love to take you and your wife out for dinner if your open. We are both GPAA and a Desert Gold Diggers members and will be up that way and are thinking about staying in Wickenberg at the Quality Inn. Anyways I really appreciate all the time and effort that you put into these videos as well as your appreciation and respect for mother nature!
Thank you David, but we plan to be up North for the 4th fishing
Good for you! Good luck fishing my friend! Maybe next time. 😊
@@NUGGETSHOOTER Quick question can I park at the entrance to Hanson Aggregates or is there a better place to park for access to San Domingo Wash? Thanks in advance buddy! Not sure if this is a proper question to be asking but you never know until you ask right? Also do you recommend getting a AAGP membership or can I get by without that mainly because it is so expensive for just access to that area. Thanks again Bill
@@davidtimo429 Not sure, I go in the back way up the old stagecoach road.
@@NUGGETSHOOTER I think I know where you are talking thanks! 😊
I have a 50 acre tract in East Tennessee with a huge creek that runs the length plus springs and wet weather washes everywhere anyway ive never used a metal detector before and was wondering if the gold monster would be the one for me to start out with?
Thanks and i love your channel!
You looking for gold only or coins, relics and gold? 1000 for gold only or Equinox 800 to do all
I think you just found the Arizona version of the hand of faith!
Found my 1st flake friday. You gotta go slow. Thanks for your teaching video.
You got this! Congrats Richard
Even when coin/jewelry/relic hunting...if you don't swing the coil low and slow you can miss the smaller/deeper keepers! I still to this day drop the soil on the top of coil to pinpoint small disguised targets. That natural drainage looks like a good place to run some buckets thru a dry-washer...Adam/Boulderdash style :>)
Very true!
I have a couple question does a higher hertz matter? I have seen the Marco gold Kruzer is at 61 hertz and looks pretty easy to use. ould it find smaller stuff than the Monster 1000? tank you for your help.
Should be a decent time towards late fall, early winter..? Thinking about coming down this fall, as sister-in-law has a proven spot.
You need to invist in a garett carrot 🥕 pin pointer makes it tons more easier
Thank you, question, do use a coil protector on that 5 incher ?
Yes I do! They come with one on it
Have you ever hunted in wallapai district by cerbat mountains? Opposite side of the mountain from chloride
I just bought a gold monster and haven't found anything but aluminum cans 🥱
No I haven't hunted there as there is not a lot of placer gold in the area.
105 F is hot But it is a DRY HEAT !
Greetings, love your videos. Subscribed! If I want to spend up to $1500.00, is the Gold Monster 1000 the detector that I want 90% looking for gold. Submersible (couple feet maybe)? Thank you!
The Gold Monster is not waterproof, but cost is 849.00 US, take a look at the Equinox 800 perhaps?
What detectors do you use? What batteries and chargers? There's lots of gold all out west.
I mainly use the Minelab GPX 6000 and Gold Monster 1000 at this time
Have you used a gold kruzer? How did it compare to the monster 1000? Hard to get a reasonable comparison on RUclips. Fun video.
Yes I have tried it and as a multi line dealer also sell it, I feel the Gold Monster is the better of the 2 for gold nuggets.
@@NUGGETSHOOTER Thank you! I've watched A LOT of your videos and you obviously know what you are talking about. I trust that opinion lots more than the several other RUclips vids on the kruzer.
It's hard to get a reasonably objective opinion - and buying any modern detector is a whack on a retired guy's budget. Want to make as informed choice as I can.
Hey Bill, Have you ever ran the XP ORX? If so what are your thoughts? Would like to see it run over some hot ground 👍
Sorry no, I do not have one to use currently
Have you tried using DD coils in your areas. Troy from Kalgoorlie
in some areas yes, but mostly mono here
Hello, how do you separate gold from stone? Or sell it as found in nature?
I sell most of mine as is, but otherwise crush and melt into a button
Really enjoy your videos. Thank you for all of the knowledge. My only question is why don't you use a pinpointer? You spend more time of fighting that metal detector while you're looking for a nugget than I used to spend fighting with my ex mother-in-law..
Hey bill do you run across silver deposit target with the gold monster?
Rarely in this area, but lots of silver nuggets being found to the East
@@NUGGETSHOOTER
Can you please do a silver target video on one of your hunts for treasure? I really enjoy your knowledge and videos, thank you for your reply.😎🇺🇸🍀
why does a detector sound off when it touches the ground?Sometimes as I lift it up?
Not fully balanced and all detectors need to be balanced continuously to remain stable as the ground changes.
How does the equinox compare to the monster bill??
Close Josh, but the Monster has a definite edge
Bill did you use your monster in auto 1?
much of the time yes in auto 1
Bill can I ask why you dont use a pin-pointer once you've found a target ?
For me, it takes more time and hassle than simply using a scoop and going hand to hand. I do use one when coin/relic hunting. We don't need to dig a "plug" nugget hunting and dig around the target until out of the hole.
@@NUGGETSHOOTER thanks Bill
@@bryanmower2703 You are very welcome Bryan, but remember that is just how I do it lol
I have a huge 12 lb crowbar that would move a Boulder. I like searching under water.
Carrying a 12 pound crowbar for miles in the desert is just not doable for this prospector Helen
