    Ok. I know it should be important to know that I am in Puerto Rico USA. I retired 3 years ago but have been studying the ways of prospecting gold. I started seeing my buddy, your countryman Andy from Adventure Gold. Then I discover you and now I have two great guys from Australia. I go stay in the jungles here in PR with my dog too. I stay 3-4 days at a time. My dog digs for gold too lol He pushes me away when I start digging and he digs the same spot. He also dives for rocks underwater and comes out and puts them in a corner. At the end of the day I check out his pile. Hahaha its so funny cause he's a Labrador and very eager in the water. Anyways Chris, thanks fir the video. Must say this is one of the most enjoyable videos I've seen from you. Great stuff, Thanks. You have a buddy in Puerto Rico USA.

Love you work. It reminds me of the trout fishing series done by Rob Sitch ( of comedy fame) entitled “A river somewhere” which was aired as an ABC series and was the catalyst for me taking on fly fishing. It might be worth a look at that series as it might create and inspire some new ideas for future episodes. Did I tell you I love your work. Cheers Barry have a great day

    Another great vid Chris, so informative. You are going to love the monster, I use the same "cherry picking" method and have done OK in the Gold Coast hinterland of all places, who would have thought. And give Griz a scratch behind the ear for me, what a personality ! I have also made three different diameter nozzles for my yabby pump, I can get a lot deeper in small crevices and don't have to move as quickly between crevice and pan (smaller opening retains material better) they are just a nozzle, not a gold trap.

    Good show Chris,
    I do want to get something off my chest here. Once a week a long show builds up expectations and i believe this must pressure you to come up with new insights and film techniques. New guests and places to show. New methodes and extras. I feel a bit guilty expecting all this from you. I am glad you are breaking things up in seasons so you can take a long view on where you are going.
    Take care and have a good one,

    i see you've got the crowbar working well for you . And you're getting some results. Well done.
    What I would suggest is if you are up in NE Vic or over the border, find a larger auriferous stream at a low water time and particularly one with large boulders. Large boulders are great traps for gold because they tend to create large depressions,(i.e.low points) in the stream bed because of their sheer size and weight and the have lots of low-pressure zone potential. Take a reasonably portable jack or winch with you, along with your crowbar and move those big suckers so you can access that lovely yellow stuff underneath.
    Even with just a crowbar, a large boulder can be moved. Use the 'jack and wedge' method.
    I.e. Lever the boulder up and save any movement in it that you have achieved, (even if its say 1 inch ) by jamming a rock in there to stop the boulder falling back into its original spot.Take your crowbar out for a better lever point and repeat. Each little bit of progress using this method should move the boulder enough eventually to get down into the 'goodies' zone.
    Some friends of mine found a bonanza of gold by moving a large boulder in a well-known stream not too far from Moe, which has been worked over for absolute years by every man and his dog.Good luck.

      100% mate. I've done exactly that with a hand winch with fantastic results.

  • @EPimporters
    @EPimporters 5 лет назад +1

    This is exactly what I meant in my comment on your other video when dumping everything in the sluice. IMO, I think it is better to just work hard for a short amount of time filling up buckets at the same time classifying them and then rest on a rock with the sluice in front of you; feeding it with a small hand shovel in a timing manner. helps not to loose gold too. Great job btw, finding a gram of gold in only 5 test pans the day before! :) FYI, it hurt my eyes that you used a pan with water to clean the sluice mat..... use a bucket to clean a mat so you don't loose anything.

    • @VoGusProspecting
      @VoGusProspecting  5 лет назад

      You can expect much more eye hurting action in the future haha. Its not a bit worry of mine, I'd rather not work hard at all so running grizzly bars on the Croc is ideal. If I lose some gold I'm OK with that.
      As for cleaning the mat, the static forces keeps everything in place. If have to do something pretty drastic to lose gold at that point

    • @EPimporters
      @EPimporters 5 лет назад

      Aren't grizzly bars supposed to be before the mat so the heavy rocks don't damage the sluice and knock gold out.
      Never seen "grizzly bars" on the end. They are designed to be before the mat/ beginning of the process... So maybe you should make your own name for your bars after mat. lol
      Maybe "Backward Bars" ha

    Another thing I would be taking on my camping trip to an area like that: Is a good first aid kit and especially with some good quality wide stretch bandages for snake bite first aid. Where you are working and camping looks like a fair bloody dinkum great home for Tiger and Red Bellied Black Snakes. You might not see them but I can assure you that they are there. Maybe even some Eastern Browns. I do a lot of hunting and shooting in areas like that. But I love snakes.

    Nicely done, first time I’ve ever seen a miner talk about his camp and gear, thank you.
    On another note if it wouldn’t be asking too much, any idea if David from Taz is still making videos? My family really liked them as well.

    Hello, With your water purifier you said it removes at 4 Log ratings (99.99%) can be higher for safety, you might want to check out the Berkey Sport which removes at 6 Log (99,9999%)!!! The parts/filter is replaceable!!! Can be used in any non stagnant water source!!!! Be safe, take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 👍👍🙏🏻🧐👊

    Hey Chris.
    Wow. You're on the gold there mate! Another great video. Thanks for sharing.
    Unbiased constructive criticismey bit: Your videos are very skillfully made. On the videography side, stunning and highly entertaining. My ONLY suggestion would be on sound work, which is a bit inconsistent at times. Also, I think when you grab your camera while it's on the tripod, you are putting one of your phalanges over the microphone.
    Looking forward to season 2. I hope we won't have to wait for it.

      The audio will never change, I use up to 4 different cameras and they each record audio differently. I dont get paid to spend days editing it all together. When I rewatch it if I can hear it then I put the seal of OK on it lol.
      I appreciate the feedback, it does help, just this audio thing isnt getting fixed until someone throws money at it.

      Not when you have 60GB of data to edit, each clip can change dramatically. All I do is a basic level, all the little nuances you can here adjust to that.

    OK, ya just gave away the biggest secret of panning / sluesing for gold.... HAVING FUN DOING IT!!!
    When you don't for fun, there's no "real" pressure in finding "the big one".. The one spot that'll give ya a huge payday.
    (As a retired veteran, its something I want to start doing. The pure fun of being out there doing something fun... And making a bit of " pocket money" . and something I can take my daughter out and teach her how to do it!)
