Thank you Rob the USS KIDD model I built from a Deans Marine Kit in 1/96 scale I added a few extras running lights as well moving guns and torpedo launchers .
I know next to nothing about RC warships and submersibles, but is it possible to make a miniature active sonar suite for these things? That would be pretty pointless but incredibly cool and glorious to ping away with a tiny search sonar that could still be heard at some distance from the signal source.
Nicely done! There are now three ships that have had the KIDD name; DD-661, DDG-993 & DDG-100. DD-661 is a museum ship in Baton Rouge, LA. DDG-993 is in the service of the Taiwan navy as DDG-1803 (Tso Ying). DDG-100 is on active duty with the US Navy. The KIDDs were named after Admiral Issac C. Kidd who died on the bridge of his flagship, USS Arizona, during the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941. I was fortunate to have served aboard DDG-993 KIDD from ‘84 - ‘89. Long live the KIDD name and heritage! Nil Sine Magno Labore - Nothing Without Great Labor.
Had an uncle that served on a corvette in the north Atlantic. Even in his last few years he could not stand cold weather. Still had four kills painted on the first stack.
korbi sleheddine This model is using a gas system for blowing out ballast and has a radio antenna in the water tight compartment, however can only be used in freshwater not saltwater because the antenna won't work in saltwater
Hi there. I dont know if this is the right place to ask but can somebody please tell me were i can get high quality fully assembled Modells? Like from everything what has to do with military from 1938 to 2000? I wish i could build some of these model kits for self assembling but unfortunete both of my hands are shacking to much for this... so if somebody knows a company which produces some good looking model planes tanks ships etc. Please tell me. With good looking i mean detailed. Oh and they dont have to be rc ones. Thanks
undersee604 thanks. But thats exactly what i didnt needed. Look i cant hold my hands still. I was injured in a plane crash 5 years ago since then my hands never stopped to Shake. See even typing is hard for me. I just want some models which i can place in my house. Like planes on a pole wichtig makes them look like in flight. But again thanks for your answer.
Very good! It looks very realistic! What a pity modern children prefer phones while such opportunities blossom nowadays! In me childhood we had to build with our own hands from rudder to periscope
Looks like youre having serious fun and I enjoyed the show. 👍 Once that U- boat missed its torpedo it would be lights out for the German crew. The Fletcher would of hunted that sub like a dog. I thought you were going that direction. A second torpedo shot is stuff that ya see in the movies. - fiction. I really enjoyed the video though.
You're the man Dan!! Now you need to either make those fish commercially available or fess up drawing and parts list lol!! GREAT stuff!! Also, who makes your hull. I'm a 1/48 guy and I'm looking for a Type VII, hopefully a 'glass hull. "Sub" Ed
Thanks Ed just having fun with filming the models, the sub is my old DKmodels 1/48 scale type V11 that I produced many years ago, i do have a new updated pattern made for the V11, however China now has 3 plastic kits available in that same scale. Cheers
I love how this is filmed in a flooded parking lot lol
Like walking a pet catfish when the road is completely flooded
This looks like it’s in a water fountain. There’s some pipe thing at 1:12 spitting out water on the left
Must be in a parkfountain and not in a flooded car parking lot.
Superbly done. The excellence of the video hides the enormous logistics effort that was clearly made to film it. Wow.
Thanks I know it's not movie quality but thanks for the compliment
awesome production Dan
Best model U-boat combat I’ve ever seen. 👍🏻
Cheers
Well done, guys. First time I've seen this one. Nice tight editing!
Sometimes models look better in slow motion by the way. Makes the waves look more realistic.
Very fun for doing this hobby 😀
Thank you Rob the USS KIDD model I built from a Deans Marine Kit in 1/96 scale I added a few extras running lights as well moving guns and torpedo launchers .
undersee604 do the torpedo tubes on the kidd fire as well? And the guns?
Is this your hobby shop in the background or is it just a pawn you play with those models in
Very well put together
Cool, excellent models, looks like a lot of fun too.
Mick DeVille Thanks , and it is lots of fun
The actual USS Kidd sits quietly right here in my town on the river.
It was later revealed the U-Boat was piloted by a group of Stormtroopers.
IMPERIAL Stormtroopers.
Bruh...
Lol

It would be cool if that could be done 😄
Nice vid Dan kachur, Jason church,

undersee604 Very classy.
Kudos to a great ship build. Nice job too with Fletcher class destroyer.
Exit Only Thanks
Had an uncle that served on a corvette in the north Atlantic. Even in his last few years he could not stand cold weather. Still had four kills painted on the first stack.
Hey thats cool it must have been tough on board the Corvettes especially in the north Atlantic.
Daniel Burgess Read the book, "The Cruel Sea," about Corvette duty. You'll learn what he lived through.
He was a cast iron prick and a mommy's boy until he died.
That was pretty cool. I visited the USS KIDD when I was 13 .
Steven Dee Thanx one day I would like to visit the USS KIDD Museum
Two super models. Great video.
Thanks Noel
Is the parking lot flooded???
Really nice "movie"....
Я поражаюсь золотыми руками этих людей
What protocol are u using to control the submarine please, are you using an RC controller, did the submarine got any antenna?
korbi sleheddine This model is using a gas system for blowing out ballast and has a radio antenna in the water tight compartment, however can only be used in freshwater not saltwater because the antenna won't work in saltwater
Any idea why the torpedoes don't follow a straight course but veer sideways?
That was fun, thanks!
👍👍👍
Is there a real sonar in them? or just a kind of situation drama?
The sonar sound is just edited in , however a few of my RC subs has real sonar sound effects .
@@undersee604 wow that's awesome
how torpedo (in this video) work?
Nice video. Enjoyed the effort to re-create the realism as per Hollywood productions! Hahaha ..
Thanks Mat☺

Leander Scholz Hi I can recommend the Nautilus Dry Docks his name is Bob Martin I think he could help you . Good luck

Anthony this model was custom made so is expensive
Where do you get the kit or such for this?
Made from scratch
Can you make a how to build this submarine for people with lots of time on their hands?
also, what are your torpedoes?
U-BOAT vs NICHOLAS?
Hello, do you know where can I buy a boat like them ?
Hi this model sub I built from scratch with all the operating systems. Custom built
Very good! It looks very realistic! What a pity modern children prefer phones while such opportunities blossom nowadays! In me childhood we had to build with our own hands from rudder to periscope

Thanks ,it's all about having fun 😀 ,I agree the Fletcher would have destroyed the U-boat with no problem especially in shallow water. 👌
Then suddenly both destroyed with aqua-net infused nuclear potato cannon .....
You should try “Depth Charging” the U Boat. You could use small firecrackers. PLEASE do it.
cherry bombs
The UBOAT I made from scratch the destroyer is a fibreglass kit from England
Nooo I wanted to know where to get on of those subs
Can you see the captain moving on the bridge
So good
How do you ping a plastic submarine?
with great skill
Beautiful model, impressive torpedo =)
Do they make a waterproof remote so you can swim with it ?
Greg Sharpe did just that
You say the name of the site you took the submarine
no hate okay but since when did torpedo misses it target?
i mean the destroyer is not moving so yeah how it misses though NO HATE
I think the torpedo gyro was not synchronized properly.😃
well considering the fact it's not a real top it will obviously niss
loved this !
Very nice unterwasser videography.
Bill23799 Thanks Bill it was fun to put together not quite Hollywood material but fun.Cheers

How did you recreate this?
With RC scratch built models
Yes the model destroyer is DD 661 USS KIDD
undersee604 would of been mad if the destroyer had been the Eldridge lol
It is the submarine type 7c (VII C) not V11. But very nice video
Well done!
Kidd had 1 set of torpedo launchers and a painting of captain Kidd on the forward funnel. why not just name it after some other Fletcher class?
Doesn't get any cooler that this. 😳😲🍻
This was done by imovie
PERFECT VERY GOOD ORIGINAL 👍👍👍 🇧🇷
Thx, one day need to make part 2
Apart from USS Kidd having 2 torpedo tubes...nice video man :D
