These guys were the most humble "rockstars" I have ever been around. I worked at the Backroom in Austin Texas back in early 2000s. Mudvayne played a set and I had to get the meet and great line in order. This was the first time I'd ever had to do that becuz most bands that played dip out after their set. When I heard Mudvayne was returning last year, I literally started freaking out. I was texting, calling, posting to everyone I knew that they were finally returning. That first show back was, understandably, shaky and had some audio/tech issues. However, the Welcome to Rockville show proved that Chad and company still had it. They were my favorite band back in the early 2000's and continue to be in my top 5 to this day. I already have my tickets to the upcoming tour with Rob Zombie. I am still in disbelief that I get to see them again on stage after last seeing them in 2005. Great interview with a truly genuine person and an absolute legend of nu-metal/progressive metal.

Man, that's badass that Chad was able to finish the welcome home album. Hell yeah in my opinion had just continued to get better and better with each album. Their first couple albums weren't anything special compared to mudvayne but their last few albums were great and the welcome home album is without a doubt their best. Now let's hope for some new mudvayne, even a couple singles would be amazing. Even that they performed together again blew me away honestly.

Great interview. Long time fan of you guys. I seen mud at that oz fest in Tampa Fl. They played a small ass stage way off from the main. They played it like it was the main stage and kicked ass. Truthfully it was the only set that impressed me out of that whole line up. Glad to see them getting back into it after so many years. All their albums are classics. He looks so different. WOW!!! Just a sidenote??? L.D.50 was a lifechanger and gamechanger in so many ways for me as a guitarist in a metal band. It morphed my playing into a more bone crushing approach and tone. That album is a legendary collection of incredible compositions that are criminally underrated. Thank you Mudvayne.
Seen them on their first tour with slipknot before ld 50 came out and was hooked. Met them at tattoo the earth and when they opened for kittie. Awesome dudes
Good old days when we would check out Mudvayne and slam beers in a garage converted into a place for local metal bands. No stage, the bands and the crowd mixing it up on the concrete garage floor! Believe it was called "Hall of Justice" in Decatur Illinois. Before they got signed to a major label. Some good bands played there.
The Ozzfest2001(Donnington Uk) that Chad mentions was the very first time I had ever been to see any live bands, I was 12 years old, my dad took me and my 2 brothers. Found a signed poster from a band called Raging Speedhorn aswel. I remember seeing Mudvayne and iv been a massive fan ever since. Loved this video 🤘
MV started in my home town of Peoria. when these guys started and when they blew up it was a real exciting time. Peoria had sucha a massive metal scen back then. Obviously these guys were the stand outs. Seeing them before they got famopus was awesome. If you havent check out the Mudvayne Live in Peoria DVD.... its insane.
I went to ozzfest in 2001. Mudvayne didn't show up in Cleveland. Then I bought tickets to pledge of allegiance tour to catch them on the next tour. They didn't show up to that one either. Pretty bummed to miss my favorite band twice that year.

I partied with Chad and Dave fortman years ago around the lost and found time and I can tell you, Chad is one of the coolest dudes in the industry. Absolutely killer night. We went out to some clubs with Matt and Ryan and they were just ok. Lol Chad is the man
I saw Chad walk into a club in Peoria once with an absolute smoke show of a goth girl... on a leash. Such a boss move.
I've been a fan of Chad since 3rd stage Metallica Tattoo the Earth in 2000 and never missed a show whether it was Mudvayne or Hellyeah in the NJ/NY area and A7X always there too, I remember once getting a carved pumpkin from the stage after a Halloween show in NY, this just brought back SO MANY F'N AWESOME memories...I always pushed my way through all the guys so I could be right up there to see Chad in all his Chadnesss, THANK YOU all for keepin me, keepin on... 🤘🤘🤘
I will be seeing you at the Eagle's club Chad! And the show is July 14th by the way!
Great interview, Chad is an icon! Would love to see you guys tour together! 🍻
Chad your thought process is so similar, thank you for you being you, hell yeah and MUDVAYNE has changed me for the better
LD 50 will never get the appreciation it deserves. I still blast that record to this day 🤘
I was at that Ozzfest!! It was one of my absolute favorites!!! I was also there for Tattoo the Earth where Mudvayne played with Slipknot, Slayer, Sepultura and Coal Chamber!! I'll see you tonight with Starset!!
You guys need to make that tour happen! Come to the Huntington center again in Toledo Ohio!
Very grounding to see you guys start to show emotion when discussing your mutual losses. Very cool interview!
I was given L.D. 50 to Me as a welcome home from Bootcamp present, I bought "The End of All Things To Come" album a few nights before leaving to Iraq. That album made Me life long friends, and I owe My life to Mudvayne for helping Me through a lot of hard times. TFT 2003 2nd M.E.B. HQ Group ... Album Cover is tattooed on my right calf, I chose Green and Yellow for the Artwork Color. Means a lot to Me
I can't believe you know Chad Gray!!! He's been one of my biggest vocalist inspirations ever and Happy? Is my most covered song 👌
I got covid end of 2021 too. First three days i thought i was done. I have never been that sick. Hell i was afraid to sleep because i thought i might not wake up. That's how it hit me.
Did you get your jabs and the boosters too
I got covid and I only lost my sense of smell for 4 weeks. Superior genetics!
Please come back to Minneapolis Mudvayne! It’s been almost 20 years since I’ve seen them live. I saw them about 4 times between 2002 - 2005. I was in high school. I’m 33 now… 🧓
Great interview. I was worried when all that hoopla that was going around when his voice took a shit on the resent sets. Covid fucks ur voice up, glad he got through it and on the road to getting it back on track. Horns up and hit em straight 🏌️♂️
Honestly, I really enjoy episodes like this. You just hanging out and catching up, hope you keep doing more of that man. Cheers guys 🍻 if you read this.
Great interview, woulda loved a few more questions on the Mudvayne discog tho
Again fantastic interview, great host and guest!
Damn. I really wanted to hear alot more about mudvayne and them reuniting.
Oh man! Avenged and Mudvain! Please go on tour! If you do, please try and come to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. That show would definitely sell out. For sure.
Seen them on their first tour with slipknot before ld 50 came out and was hooked. Met them at tattoo the earth and when they opened for kittie. Awesome dudes
When Chad says "you know, honestly dude". He sounded like Jack Black. hahaha
Love this episode!
Saw Mudvayne on the Freaks on Parade tour and the whole line up KILLED IT. However, Mudvayne was VERY special for me🖤
mud-fkn-vayne! favorite band ! singer ! bassist ! drummer ! and there's a guitarist too.... x-P
Definitely need to add those house of blues shows in Chicago to the warm up dates 🤞
My literal dream band would be Mayard and Billy Howerdell's Perfect Circle with Matt, Ryan and Greg writing and performing as the NEW Perfect Circle
Would be Interesting for sure. Check out Billy’s new solo stuff
Been listening to you guys for over 10 years, finally getting to see you in August!
Biggest Chad Grey fan!! Dudes soo badass. Glad to see him touring with mudvayne! 🤘🤘🤘💪💪💪
Strangely not a huge fan of either band but I did enjoy the conversation very much.
MV started in my home town of Peoria. when these guys started and when they blew up it was a real exciting time. Peoria had sucha a massive metal scen back then. Obviously these guys were the stand outs. Seeing them before they got famopus was awesome. If you havent check out the Mudvayne Live in Peoria DVD.... its insane.
I'm from Joliet I remember going to Peoria for a lot of shows then. Great times.
I went to ozzfest in 2001. Mudvayne didn't show up in Cleveland. Then I bought tickets to pledge of allegiance tour to catch them on the next tour. They didn't show up to that one either. Pretty bummed to miss my favorite band twice that year.
Dude I still love watching the Pantera watch it go home movies great stuff miss pantera so much
Went to see them a few years ago for the 2nd time. Was amazing freaks on parade tour. Rocked out so hard I had a heart attack and didn't even know it. Lol..
