I just finished the game, it was very enjoyable, looking back, there was actually some really big changes to gameplay
I like Leshy's rules more cause I can play multiple cards, cause on Act 3, you're really restricted on what you can play cause you need energy, but I guess I can understand why it was restricted though
Imagine Leshy mixed with Act 2, would be awesome to see
a shame there arent any conduit cards
I'm pretty sure that when you win he gives you a plate full of meat/offal was a reward, the same as you pick up in the second act.
Gotta love an Antbuild. I made a card in a run as a 0 cost 1.1, not the greatest but it had antspawner and undying (the roach buff) So as soon as you draw the card you can just fill your board with ants :D
it's amazing how many mechanics this first game has, each time you play is something new

Having the squirrel ants really had me questioning whether going for the bee deck was worth it. On one hand, bees. On the other, squirrel totem is a free starting totem and pairs well with a few totem bodies, which would be a bit harder to set up if I were to instead have bees.
I was getting the bug totem head for free the run after getting the bees.

@@Rzra I ended up getting bee rabbits, and threw reborn on an ant queen. Filled my board with ants t1 consistently, it was great
one time i got a totem that gave insects a spawn bees on death sigil and i already had boon of the bees
I don't remember any secret involving Long Elk. But its card appearance is interesting. When not in battle mode, the card appears like a long rotted rope. In battle, the rope is attached to a bone elk head.
If I remember correctly the long elk is a reference to the long horse a kind of creepypasta or something like that
It's a reference to a creature created by the creator of many other cryptid creatures, like cartoon cat, Long horse specifically. Long Horse is a skeletal horse with a very long, smooth neck and patches of unhealthy looking fur. Iirc it's a protector of sorts

If you lose it in the campfire, the next times you visit the campfire for the run, you will not have to push your luck at all. It kills the survivors trying to eat it.

if i'd guess, ring worm probably completes the challenge of the ring on the last section if you don't have the clock ring

the amalgam has all races so it works with any totem (in this case with the 1 turn upgrade) it's pretty nice
The amalgam counts as squirrel as types including squirrel so it is effected by any totem. Pretty OP if you have the right totem
I don’t get why people don’t like Act 2, it’s my favorite part! The way that the different mechanics weave into each other and you get to actually build a deck, I would very seriously play a standalone/physical release of the Act 2 game
I agree on that aspect of act 2 but people like act 1 more and thought act 1 was going to be the biggest part of the game so they got put-off after they saw act 2/3 :P
@@Sifd I could understand that, but I thought the roguelite part would be pretty boring if that was it, especially if you create enough deathcards. Like for comparison, take the moon vs the heart (slay the spire’s final boss): the heart is a challenging fight that you have to spend a whole run crafting your deck around, and for the Moon, it’s add an adder to your deck, OR just don’t cut cards from your deck and stinkbug will carry you anyways
Again I think it could be a cool standalone game if they actually made it a challenge, but as is, it’s not really something I would go back to instead of a real roguelite
the biggest part I dislike about part 2 is the lack of customizability in individual cards. being able to give sigils to cards is really fun, mixing and matching cards is great.
I think act 2 was reasonably good, enjoyed trying to turn 1 kill everything with a card draw deck (fun fact: the dredger is impressed if you kill him before he has the chance to concede the game on his first turn), honestly the biggest gripe for me is you only have so many combat scenarios and none of them are replayable (except for training dummy :/) so you can't really test your deck as much as I'd like

It's a lot more fun replaying the first part without picking up the stuff that breaks the game and makes it too easy. Squirrel + ants = autowin. I would just unlock the newt and ant cards in the top drawers and that's it. No free teeth or smoke or anything like that
Ouroboros is also auto-win after you've beefed it up a bit with its unique mechanic.
I mean the Ant Squirrel is a fun mechanic to do once. Then maybe not again

I meant that the "sacrifice something" mechanic wants a goat here and then in act 2 you get the same thing requesting an offer from you (it wants the two halfs of the obol) and gives you a key and then in act 3 you use that key to speak to the beast in private.

It just occurred to me that the full board of trees boon is probably a bit underrated. Surviving through the pickaxe wipe while you build up resources shouldn't be all that bad.

Just want to note that you actually CAN sacrifice the warren, even though it has the other border. So it is basically an extra squirrel (since you can play it for one sacrifice and get two sacrifices out of it)

The first part of the game is best anyway, so keep going for reruns. I want to see fancy strats. Ant crew was fun. Please try too make a 4/4 card or even 4/4 death card. Maybe something happens. I suppose I would watch a goood 10 or so more runs if you try out different stuff.
Use urayuli for power and health, a pelt for cost, and a mantis god with the poison sigil for the ultimate card

Long elk is most likely a long horse reference. You can look it up if you are interested though making the long elk an insta-kill monster when referencing long horse, a warning/protector is an...interesting choice.
Also, if you recall in stage 2, the "smelly meat" to feed the dog was in the safe, and if you open the safe before bones are introduced the "grand prize" is shown in the safe, so I guess his carefully prepared meal is literally a pile of sticking meat.
I can say for sure that the best sigil for the squirrel is the replication sigil.
Undying is good, you just have to be able to finish quickly or else you’ll get starvation cards towards the end of the fight 🤦🏻♀️
My first win ever was the first time totems were introduced and I got Insects give Ants when played. Absolutely broken.
All those times you could’ve summoned a squirrel, add an ant, sacrifice the squirrel for the Raven egg for a free item, and then sacrifice the egg for the ant

The amalgalm is not only a slighty tankier wolf, it is considered to be every tribe at once. So your squirrel totem would work on it.

The ability is quite weak compared to most other rare cards, so yeah
The ants are insane. I ignored my whole deck when I got that.
You should try to do some challenge runs to make the game a bit more difficult. You could do a minimum sigil run, or maybe let the enemy get an extra turn at the start of each battle.
I think it is a condition to lose eye to get the one eyed grizzly card.
Just play the rounds through, I think one super death card would be good enough and just playing normally after would be worthwhile.

So I’m pretty sure Leshy only surrenders when you have the caged wolf in your deck to try to trick you out of freeing it

Nah his surrender is triggered when he's run out of cards
Leshy surrender when he both runs out of card, and detect when the battle will either end in him losing or a stalemate in the next few turn.
However, it is best to not surrender so you can get more teeth from excess damage.

@@Sifd umm... I'm not sure what to tell you mate. Maybe next vid ask the people what might be secrets. Personally I think I know some. Like the broken obol can be fixed (there's two cards) and can be sacrificed to the bottom right crypt in the skeleton area. Then there's the binary 010011 thing. I think it may have a correlation to the cards you pick that has roman numerals (XII, V, II, X) at the bottom of those cards has binary codes. And look the lucky carder on RUclips. I think most secrets are there (though I'm not sure).
I'm pretty sure there are major balancing issues with making Leshy's section a longer roguelike. The items, deathcards and things like Ouroborous are far too powerful, and the fact you can win extremely quickly because you only need to hit him for 5 means that it's easy to make every fight trivial. This is made worse by putting sigils on cards that shouldn't have them. It would be extremely difficult to balance. I suppose in later stages the scale could have 10 to 20 ticks on each side.

How did you get 51 health and damage. Nothing in game has that and no amount of fires in the game can bring you to that.

Leshy was the most enjoyable part of the game, the later parts weren't as interesting due to there being less combo potential.

Only the ant that the player owns is buff while the ants summon from the totem is standard.

I think the fire is not a push your luck. I think the survivors eat the animal at the third or fourth upgrade
"third or forth" is the push your luck part :P

You can actually push your luck on the campfire from 1-4 times with the survivors.
First time is guaranteed, second time has a chance to fail, third time is higher chance to fail, and the fourth will have the highest. The thing is that it is possible to push it up to four time and that the game will automatically make you safely remove your card from the campfire with the +4 damage or +8 HP.
Exploit/Trick/Cheat:
The thing is that the number of time you can buff the card is RNG until you get to the campfire where the number is static.
If you got to the campfire, and upgrade the card as much as possible but lost it on after the third attempt, you can exit the game before it auto-save (which happens when the map is up), start it back up again, and redo the campfire but end it at the third attempt.
This trick also work the same with every other event, like picking up new cards, items, and even battle will be the exact same.
