Thats soo gooooood! It sounds like a mix of Korn vocals, Red guitar and Dream Theater drums. Mixed all together it sounds AMAZING, plus, you got your own touch into it that I've heared before on your Tool covers. Keep it up!
Bought the physical copy of the album for about $25 and am not disappointed in the least! This album is truly a masterwork. After a few listens you can truly feel the music. So happy to see this completed!
johnkew I've been watching your videos for quite some time and you are a very talented drummer and you seem that you want to be just like Danny Carey, which is my favorite drummer of all time. And just like Danny, you use electronic pads, so my question is how do you install different sounds and instruments into your pads?
God damn, that was great. The vocals remind me of something, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I quite like it, though. Awesome job overall, I'm gonna buy the album asap.
johnkew, been a huge fan of your covers and have been following you for a little bit now. Definitely digging this song and I think I'm going to go scoop up your album on iTunes. I hope to be able to have the skill you have some day! Keep on rockin!
Wow, that was very unexpected from the first 2 1/2 minutes, then the sudden transition to the latter half. The sweet sounding vocals at first, and then from the same person that gutteral inflammation was a big surprise. Your drumming was outstanding, as usual. I love the bird fret inlays on the guitar.
Thanks man, and yeah, there are a lot more cuts in a music video that I'm used to mixing! Will (the edit guy) did a great job combining our different areas together though.
johnkew It wasn't too bad! I'm glad to see this from you guys! I started obsessing over your drumming videos after seeing your Tool covers and one explaining the smaller details you had to figure out from Danny Carey's technique. Keep kickin' ass.
Both the vocals, and the guitar work is amazing but the drums are just exquisite. The only thing I would change is the very sudden change in tempo. But it was an overall fantastic job, keep on rocking!!!
Nice music guys! Loved the tenor voice and well played drums. All the good work shows! I didn't much like the director's "effort" to give extra movement to the video when not needed to. Thanks!
I think that Hurt will be offering lossless digital downloads sometime, but I'm not entirely sure. Right now it's physicals through Hurt and digital through iTunes.
John, did I see a link somewhere to a different video for this song like you would normally do on your covers? Or a full behind the scenes video like the teaser at the end of this video? Where and how did you get those drums/cymbals? Were they the same as you used in the studio? Did they take a beating in the sand? Have more questions on other tracks which Ill post in the FB group.
Hi James, I did record a drum-through for this song in the studio the day before we went out on-location. I just haven't mixed it down yet. But it'll be posted on this channel when finished. At the end of the video, there's a box that pops-up in the teaser for the full behind the scenes.
lmao always longplays from portraits aint it? 10 minutes release single and another 7 and counting song ahahahah. doesnt matter cause its awesome quality! good job guys
I would blame the mix, during the verses the vocals are too low, it they turn it up a little in order to not get drowned by the instruments, it should sound better

Holy jump cuts, Batman!
i had to scroll down cos it was making me feel ill
Super cringeworthy.
I've played the whole album through, and I must say John, this is a very well thought-out and executed project! Bravo!
Glad you like it Matt!

I knew that Axis Mundi was just a start... Awesome work :)
Been watching your drum covers for about a month....finally stumbled upon this and...wow. LOVE IT!

Great song John! Your playing is creative, dynamic, and powerful.
Thanks Matt, hope you're well!

Very nice! Fewer camera cuts would make this much better. Just my opinion. Well done, great song!
Really nice...
Very Good Music And Video
God damn, that was great. The vocals remind me of something, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I quite like it, though. Awesome job overall, I'm gonna buy the album asap.
Yeah perhaps. And a little bit of the guy from Karnivool.
Haha, I'm definitely not hearing that. To me, that's a compliment, but I don't know about to Ben...
Thanks man! And I love Rush, so definitely not an insult.
I thought the part at 3:05 when the guitar stops sounded a little like Geddy Lee. I dunno.
OK, now I can hear it a bit.

Anthony Hartwig thanks Anthony, glad you like it!
Dude, this need more support! Great song
Been listening on repeat, this is so freakin' good.

The sweet sounding vocals at first, and then from the same person that gutteral inflammation was a big surprise. Your drumming was outstanding, as usual. I love the bird fret inlays on the guitar.
Dude this is just, awesome, keep going!
Thanks man!
That was just ULTRA AWESOME. But why did you left google play without your album?
Man this really cool. So many different vibes. Parts of it really remind me of Rush and Leprous. Really cool
Excellent drumming my friend! : )
Music was amazing. The camera work made me a bit dizzy though!
Thanks man, and yeah, there are a lot more cuts in a music video that I'm used to mixing! Will (the edit guy) did a great job combining our different areas together though.

Very Karnivool. Like it
I would love to see John do a drum cover for this.
good stuff
That Monad stick figure towards the end of the video sorta looks like the Einstürzende Neubauten logo from my profile picture!
Damn this was good!
This is amazing....
Glad you like it!
Both the vocals, and the guitar work is amazing but the drums are just exquisite. The only thing I would change is the very sudden change in tempo. But it was an overall fantastic job, keep on rocking!!!
Are you planning on giving continuity to this project?
Because this album was FUCKING GREAT
Really enjoyed this John!!! Any chance this will get on Spotify?
This was great! Hopefully you'll release it on Spotify soon!
Just get yt music subscription instead of Spotify??
@@mikemurphy8580 I've used Spotify for ten years. They're not even comparable, Spotify wins easily
Nice music guys! Loved the tenor voice and well played drums. All the good work shows! I didn't much like the director's "effort" to give extra movement to the video when not needed to. Thanks!
Mmm, yes so good! I don't use iTunes so I'll wait until it's released somewhere else.
CellarPhantom it's out on Hurt Records :)
You can buy their album off from their website right now: www.hurtrecords.com
nice
I highly recommend "Claudeland - Highly Suspect" as your next little project. You will have fun with that one.
The strings are beautiful! any chance of a high res digital format release?
I think that Hurt will be offering lossless digital downloads sometime, but I'm not entirely sure. Right now it's physicals through Hurt and digital through iTunes.
You guys should add some djent into your sound! That would sound crazy good. But still great!
Is that a Tremonti PRS he's playing?

Duh. I didn't realize that was a link and I was watching on my XBOX One. Thanks!
He should do a drum cover of this!
Awesome! But where's the bassist?
geniallllllllll
Vocals remind me a lot of Soen, gr8 song and gr9 project
where's the bass?
Wow... not bad
could have done without the crazy camera work but the song was pretty damn good
Man that was the tits. I hope one day you guys can tour Australia :D
Great song, but I think Hubris should've been the single. Possibly my favourite off the album, though I love all of the songs.
lmao always longplays from portraits aint it? 10 minutes release single and another 7 and counting song ahahahah. doesnt matter cause its awesome quality! good job guys
Haha, yeah, I think the average song length on the album is seven minutes.
reminds of heliocentric from the ocean a bit.
this video must have been an editing nightmare.
если бы ты не сыграл крутую классику Тул круче Тул... тебя бы русский ютуб и не заметил бы...
Great music, sucky video. FIRE the shooter/editor....they put the "jumpy" in agitated videos. For the rest of us, we're just agitated from watching.
крутой видеоряд охеренный ударник который мимо ритма не играет.... и какой то работник ломбарда с гитарой....
Not a fan of the vocals, lacks punch.
