Iam in love from Bolivia Latinoamerica, LOVEBITES, Guitarists Miyako and Midori are both from the city of Osaka, both took piano lessons for years (Midori also learned organ), and both took up the guitar relatively late. Midori went to music school - Musicians Institute Osaka branch, where one of her instructors was the late Mikio Fujioka, lead guitarist of Babymetal's Kami Band - and Miyako is basically self-taught. Miyako made use of a well-known instructional book series, whose title literally translated into English is "Mechanical Training Phrases from Hell", working her way through the entire guitar series. There are versions of these instructional books for bass and drums too, and there's hardly a Japanese musician on those instruments who hasn't studied them.
I was first introduced to Band Maid after checking out a reaction review of Baby Metal. I really enjoyed what Band Maid had to offer and watched a reaction video of their song "Dice" where someone in the comment section recommended they review Lovebites "Shadowmaker". So I casually look up Shadowmaker and watch the video. Talk about mind blown! No offense to Band Maid (as I enjoy what they put out in the Rock category) but Lovebites is on a WHOLE OTHER LEVEL!! I have been completely addicted to this band for the last 6 weeks (imported both Concert DVD's from Japan and have downloaded every song they have to offer). They have literally dropped into my Top 5 bands of all time. These ladies are beyond talented and dare I say the greatest female Metal band (and easily my favorite Metal band) of all time.
Miho and Haruna (Bass, Drums) were the core of a legendary metal group called Destrose. They wanted to go heavier, and left the band. (Miho is a complete metalhead, her collection of metal band t-shirts is supposedly over 500). She decided to put her own band together, recruited Haruna, and they recruited Midori, Miyako and Asami (Guitars, Vocals). Miyako and Miho compose most of their material, Asami helps with lyrics. That's highly condensed 🙂
Both didn't really left for more heavier music. Haruna left before Destrose's disbandment due to her upcoming marraige back then. Then she was replaced with Risa.
Mina , the leader, left the group.
Miho, Lisa, Risa, Narumi were the only left until their official split up.
And the last of the line up where divided into two bands
Narumi and Risa to *Disqualia*
Miho to with the returning drummer Haruna to *Lovebites*
Disqualia unfortunately is nowhere to be found. Hazuki, one of their guitarist is with Nemophilia now. along with Saki of Mary's blood.
Destrose is truly the mother of female metal bands in Japan.

I admit, that I'm incredibly jealous of you Japanese guys. To have a band actually out of this world like Lovebites in one's own country is a dream ...
I love reactions like this because it's exactly how I felt when I first discovered Lovebites earlier this year. For me, they're the best new band in 20 years, maybe more. I've bought everything they've released and there's not a band song among them. They were supposed to be touring their new album now but obviously that was cancelled... so they've been recording more new music instead! They're amazing.
Lovebites and Unleash The Archers are simply the best power metal bands out there today. The talent is unreal. I would suggest you get their new album Electric Pentagram it’s amazing.

Lovebites world-class master musicians to me IN MY OPINION there is no other better, although some do come close to their caliber. I challenge you to do a Lovebites mv reaction every day for a week and I promise you will not be disappointed. I know for a fact because I have their entire collection already, every single song gets better and better
I think one thing that is very impressive is how the guitarists manage to play these intricate solos in harmony and not miss a damn note! And the drummer's thighs can probably crush rocks!

Epilogue (balad), scream for me. Swan song, Break the Wall and many more. Their music are awesome but they underrated. Everyone who love metal must know them..
The new Blu-ray has the best mix of them so far.
'Epilogue' live harkens back to those 80's metal power ballads. One of my favorites and a nice change of pace.

I saw them live last year in Osaka. They were incredible live. One of the single best live shows I have ever seen.
I have been a fan of Lovebites since 2017 when they 1st created music, they have always wanted to Heavy metal especially NWOBHM mixed with Power Metal. Never looked back. All of their 3 albums and 2 EPs are just so awesome. When I 1st saw them in 2017 in the UK I was witnessing something huge on the way from them and I am not wrong. They have won Best New Band by Metal Hammer Golden Gods in 2018. I do highly listen to all their albums
I honestly believe they are the best band out there at the moment. They have so many layers to their music, touching on different metal styles. They are master musicians, great songwriters, excellent lyricists, and a vocalist who can sing with the best of them. Any one of their songs would be a good pick to react to but the one that stands out for me is The Crusade. It has an Iron Maiden vibe but with their own style. I always recommend trying to find a live song.
This is what happens when angels play the devil's music! I just adore this band.

Band Maid is pretty damn close. Galneryus is really damn close. Wagakki Band is really, really damn close. Nightwish is the main competition.

Bit generous there, m8. Asami still needs to improve as a frontwoman. Eye from Mary's Blood is a vastly better frontwoman when it comes to working the crowd.

It's good to hear someone praising Asami's vocals. I've seen a few reaction channels recently say that her vocals are putting them off, which is a shame but I totally get it as it's so subjective.
Highly recommend their live performance of Swan Song next. I loved it on the album but the live version is on another level. The whole Five of a Kind blu-ray is amazing.

Yeah, it makes me kind of sad too that many feel Asami is the weak link, but then I feel/felt the same way about Re:No from Aldious' (although I hate she had to quit for the reason she did), so I understand not everyone is going to like it. Eye from Mary's Blood, on the other hand is amazing!
@@overtheedge4711 Eye is my favourite vocalist, so you'll get no argument from me, lol! I completely get why people might have felt that way about Re:NO's voice. I think new vocalist R!N is fantastic, though, which is why I linked to that particular video.

not all Metal Singers granted but my top 5 are Rei Kuromiya (Brats) Saiki Atsumi (Band-Maid) Asami (Lovebites) Fuki (Various projects) and Suzuka Nakamoto (BabyMetal) with honorable mention to Marina (Destrose)

Everything you need to know about this band is summed up by the fact that the bassist Miho (who started the band with the drummer) was in a Pantera cover band in high school. Doesn't get much more badass than that. Some recs for other videos:

Another great reaction. Lovebites are very professional in their live shows. The songs you hear live are exactly like the way they recorded it on CD. Check out the live version of 'Scream for Me and 'Thunder Vengance''. Lovebites are better live heavier and faster than their studio recordings. Both guitarists started learning the guitar quite late in life. Midori, the one on the left started at twenty and Miyako, the one on the right at eighteen. They are now in their late twenties.

As for another band, I guess you'll like Unlucky Morpheus. They have some of the best musicians from Japan at the moment and a legendary metal singer (Fuki)! You can start with "Knight of Sword" official live video.

The rock that doesn't roll :-) Or brides maids playing metal. They wear the white outfits to stand out on stage. Totally inspirational idea. Another reaction channel, called them Disney Princesses, as his ten year old daughter thought that is what they are :-)
Mind blown. Replacement mind en route. Further replacements on auto-order. Lovebites is real. No guests in this band. Even their road crew has to be top notch.
One thing I note is Midori, Miho and Miyako all step up to their pedal boards and step to change pedals themselves. These ladies are professional and know their craft from top to bottom. You should do Thunder Vengeance Live, We the United and Swan Song. The latter two you get Miyako on piano.

Great band very tight I've watched other reactions and they always have some type of like negetive comment about the singer look she has range breath control she stays in pitch look she not Tommy Stays from Slayer and I don't hear alot said about the bassist she doesn't use a pick most male metal bassist use a pick there the bass player always walking up and down the neck she has purpose in the band besides Eugene for JinJer right now she is one I enjoy hearing and seeing look the reality is that we this Power Metal genre was kinda of on life support I'm 60 old so I grew up in the power /speed metal era besides Unleash /Archers these five very talented be ladies have in helped take Power Metal off life support I hope and all is all back normal they all come around the to Austin Tx area I'm there EARLY
