He's talented, yes, and the song is pretty hard to play, but to say that he's *one of the fastest in the world* is a very bold claim.

Gee is the soul of the band. Ok Herman and Sam are the original members, but Gee is really the best. Legendary drum skills, yet modesty, much positive energy and always smiling. I respect him a lot.

Yeah one of the things I love about Gee is that, unlike herman, when he is watching a fan, he isn't trying to play over it to prove that he can do it too.

@@kiwiangeldust6912 Yep this. Dave Mackintosh was in Dragonforge when this song came out, and he's the one that co-wrote it. Gee didn't join until 2014 when Dave left (this song came out in 2006). Although his audition was also a cover of this song, so it's safe to say he knows it pretty well.
I love the way the band is interacting with fans and watching these covers and the like. These always brighten my day, even on a good day!

Have you every seen DCI? Joey Jordison? Long, full strokes IS "proper technique". She was adding her style to it, but she is very much professionally trained.

Pretty sure she's a pro... Even so, there's gotta be few things in life as validating as having the person who created a song jam out and be so obviously and genuinely proud over your unmistakable love of the piece they made.
To have a bit of the joy that song has given so many other people be returned to Gee in kind is pretty damn epic.
What’s a “pro” she’s 20 or 21 years old and she slayed this song. Most “pros” could practice this song for 20 years and still not play it properly.

@@Ojisan642 is it really that hard of a song for "pro" drummers? as a non- musician, when i see someone play the drums, guitar, etc do fast changes of hand position or have a very fast rhythm i think that shows amazing skill, kind of like someone playing Liszt's music.
@@OrochiShaka the drummer, afaik, gives the rhythm for the whole band... so if the drummer fucks up once the whole band could stumble... (sry for my bad english^^ am german and it is midnight xD)
@@OrochiShaka try having perfect timing, rythm and control using all four of your limbs simultaneously at an absurdly high bpm for 5 minutes straight... the skill curve of drums in comparison to guitar isnt even comparable at that point tbh

I don't usually watch these "Reaction" videos, but the look of pure joy on his face was great.
Recently JUNNA joins a band called HAGANE(means “steel” as Japanese).
“Life goes on” is just like Dragon force.
At last she become to real dragon.
She is such an insanely high energy drummer and really seems to enjoy what she is doing.
My respect for DragonForce has gone through the roof recently. Not only are they incredibly talented musicians, but I love when artists connect with fans, especially on this level.

I wonder if the the girl ever saw this reaction. I can only imagine how happy that would make her and rightfully so because damn I wish anything I did had just a fraction of that enjoyment that she shows. Just amazing.
I hope she has seen it. Saw her Cover first and then stumbled over this reaction. And what can I say, it doubles the Happyness I feel frim it. Not just Junna having a blast playing the Song but Gee also having Fun while watching her. It's just what I need sometimes in my fight angainst the "big Sad" :)
I’ve seen a couple a couple of happy drummers, but this is probably the biggest sign fun I’ve seen from a drummer so far.
Akane in Band-Maid is always smiling and almost dancing with her drums and Miki in Show-Ya seems always have a happy day behind her drums... (I call Show-Ya the "grandmothers" of J-rock)
I recomend you to watch mini fairhurst or S. White (look for S. White asian drummer), these girls show so much joy when thay play, is amazing

I saw Shonen Knife twice, and their drummer Risa’s happiness could have powered the city of Baltimore for a year if positive energy were a power source.
Marco Minneman is almost always smiling and into whatever he's playing. One of the few people I've seen that can look so relaxed and almost bored playing a 3 or 4 part polyrhythm or Zappaesque nested tupplets.
Haruna from Lovebites is also incredibly positive and happy on the throne.
I love DragonForce and it is such a blast to see Gee react to Junna and her incredible cover and immaculate percussion skills. Junna is such a cute girl with great skill having a blast and just fun to watch. Note that she sometimes closes her eyes and is mouthing the words to the song. Not even looking at the drums a couple of times yest not missing a beat. The hair sells her to. Good God Junna is awesome. Not sure which band Junna is in now. Would be cool to see her in a band opening for DragonForce. Gee and Junna could swap spaces for a couple of songs for each band.
Last time I heard she was in the girls rock band Kakumei.
She left GRBK (amicably) in March this year. They have recruited Nagisa on drums and changed their name to TRiDENT. I don't think Junna is in a band right now. She seems to want to do her own thing.

She did the song at song speed, easy for her. JUNNA once performed at her highest speed and caused space/time fold to happen. She is the Bruce Lee of drummers. She did a solo once and her shoes melted, her sticks caught fire and her drums exploded. Junna is a GOAT at 25. Sometimes when she plays, an F-5 Tornado spontaneously appears in Tokyo

I cant believe what i just watched. That girl is somethin serious on the set...like I'm at a loss for words pretty much. She is gonna have one heck of a future if she stays in it.

Man, you said the truth. Very few drummer do smile during performance. They live in different dimension. No wonder they are dying young. And the truth is, they are the one carrying every song, by every band, the heavy weight. Without you and the other drummers, wouldn’t any song sound good at all!!!

I only started watching this genre of female drummers a few days ago and wow, there's a crop of talented girls out there! Senri Kawaguchi, Yoyoka, Kanade Sato, and Junna. Maybe it's just that I'm partial to the music, but I get a kick out of watching Junna perform! The weird part is that there isn't a lot of videos of her relative to the others mentioned...

I feel Gee paid her the highest compliment an artist could. Seeing his work flourish in a new generation, truly enjoying it and cheering her on while she works on her craft! Says a lot about his character.

To be 100% fair here, Dave Mackintosh was Dragonforce's drummer when the song came out, and co-wrote it. This came out in 2006. Gee didn't join until 2014 when Dave left. I have seen a lot of covers done by Junna. She always kicks ass and is smiling. Glad the master is totally on board and not a schmuck and insulting her.
For your next tour, invite Junna for an appearance or two as a guest drummer. That would certainly be interesting.

I've been listening to this song as long as she's been alive and have been drumming twice that long. I know when I've been owned, and will quietly retreat to my drum room to reflect on my life and regroup with lessons learned here... ;)
