I totally appreciate that LOVEBITES deny to participate in the competition, who's the most crazy acting, hopping around clown on stage, which sadly is so common in the music business these days ... their mind-blowing music just speaks for itself!
Agreed. Lovebites _could_ focus on stage antics. They _could_ focus on how beautiful they are. But they don't: the music comes first. They have no lack of stage presence, but it's the songs and the stellar execution that stands out.
A better song to judge Asami's vocals on would be Epilogue (ruclips.net/video/JGzdspVDZeU/видео.html). These women are all insanely talented and play multiple instruments. This is a band that took 80's glory days of Metal (Iron maiden/Judas Priest) and mixed in some Dragon Force with this bluesy vocalist who sings in Phonetically learned English. They are the best LIVE metal band playing today and can do Power Metal, Thrash Metal, Power Ballads, and even wonderful piano pieces. These women play harder than any other band out there and they are all under 5' 2", but no one stands taller on stage than Lovebites, besides I like to see the guys wearing heels and playing this good (LOL)!!!!
Japan, has several, well many, all female bands. Most are talented and contain accomplished musicians. It is a pleasant surprise to see the Lovebites ladies actually enjoy playing live. So good to see smiles on stage, grace and beauty. I grew up watching the usual format of four or five guys, wearing the standard black clothing, maybe with blue jeans for variety, vaguely sweating and grimacing and looking like a lot of the time if they rather be somewhere else.

You're scratching the surface of Lovebites! If you already praise the band you will be all the more shocked how good they are, they have great MV but "live" they are simply the best, I'm happy that you like them directly! Lovebites is the best power metal band in the world (I don't say that because they are women, but because they are simply musically top class, the guys have a lot of respect for them) I would like to recommend another incredible women's band from Japan "BAND- MAID "currently the best hard rock band in the world. The Japanese music scene is completely riddled with exceptionally well-trained musicians, most of them play several instruments, they don't do things by halves. I know your focus is more vocals, but the dual guitars are a big part of what makes Lovebites stand out--there have probably been at most 3-4 other bands in history with two truly top-tier lead guitarists, and these two are as good a duo as any in history. One of their strengths is that Midori and Miyako are actually so different in style and tone, which makes their duets all the more powerful. Midori is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion and pinch harmonics. They can both smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands.
Great reaction! This is one of their most heavy/thrashy metal songs. They also have a beautiful ballad called "Epilogue" that I suggest you check out. Another great song they have is "Swan Song" with a piano intro from one of the guitarists.

"Holy War" has the perfect balance to appreciate the talent of Lovebites, Midori/Miyako on guitars (one of the best duos in Heavy Metal), Miho on bass, Haruna on drums... and especially Asami, with her powerful and amazing voice. Another Japanese band to consider from a vocal teacher standpoint would be the Wagakki Band. Yuko Suzuhana is amazing. She melds a traditional singing style with modern styles for a unique sound. Plus the band uses an assortment of traditional Japanese instruments along with modern rock instruments. Zenbonzakura is probably their most well known song but songs such as Yoshiwara Lament (especially the live version with the extra shamisens), Hanafurumai and Hakushu Kassai are also good choices. Actually they have dozens of good choices. They will probably be unlike anything you have heard before.

Lovebites, as you noticed by some comments you read, are the best band on the planet right now. As many mentioned "Epilogue" is one of the best ballads of all time. You will see Miyako (the one that ended the songs with solo) play acoustic guitar, then back and forth between piano and electric guitar. Spectacular multi-instrumentalist, composers and song writers since they do it all by themselves. Since you are more into vocals, try Band-Maid, Aldious, Baby Metal, Unlucky Morpheus, Nemophila and Wagakki Band. And yes, most are better live than studio version, something you rarely see or hear. There is a saying going around, no matter how good you are in either singing or playing an instrument, no matter how much you practice, there is an Asian girl that is just better than you. Example: So Hyang for singing. The best female vocalist and second best to Dimash.

Right now there is an army of female rock and metal bands doing amazing things in Japan. Check out the Lovebites suggestions but you could also look into bands like Band Maid (pretty much anything live is great), Nemophila (Reitai or their Maximum the Hormone cover is a good choice. New, but very talented), Mary’s Blood, Aldious, Babymetal (female singers), Scandal, etc. You could spend months to years just doing female Japanese rock bands. And the great thing is that most have their own unique sound and style. You won’t hear a dozen bands that all sound the same.

From Lovebites is the way to Band-maid very short. Just as talented, just as japanese... But they are a hard-rock band singing in japanese. I believe maybe Puzzle live is a good starting point, since it highlights the sinergy between Miku and Saiki and their harmonies.
A lot of people in the metal scene think "Oh, it's a bunch of really attractive Japanese girls, it's just a gimmick", then quickly change their minds once they hear it. Lovebites is the real deal, and they can run circles around most of the guys without breaking a sweat!
There is something really cool happening in Japan right now, tons of women in hard rock/metal just killing it. Lots of all girl bands, lots of women fronting bands, lots of women really getting recognition as talented musicians. Not just "good for girls" in metal, but known as "some of the best" guitarists, bassists, and drummers...there are lots of amazing female drummers in Japan right now.
Yeah, these gals are exceptional at their art to be sure. Great vocals. The guitarists play well off each other and have some of the best dueling guitar moments in metal IMO. The drummer is an absolute machine. The bassist, though not often the focus in most bands is also playing her heart out. All while wearing high heels somehow.

Did someone say “Epilogue, or Edge of the World”? These are 2of their 10% least harsh songs, but it’s also where the singer get to show her roots (think lounge soul). She also has a ton of fun vamping in “Dancing with the Devil”. Glad you checked out & appreciated some huge talent in little packages. Japan is putting out great musicians. Poke around Japanese metal, you will find a lot of different types of groups that are all very talented women. Lovebites is doing power metal justice, two strong leads, a drummer that gallops, a bassist that knows how ride with the drums or leads to give everything more weight, and big vocals. Beyond that give Mary's Blood, Bridear, Band-Maid, Aldious, Nemophila, and many others a good listen. There is also a stack of mixed male/female bands that are very good as well as some all male bands. The Japanese are really carrying the touch of Rock/Metal, hell I even Stan for Babymetal.
Watch Band Maid live. They're rock, not power metal but in the rock genre they're incredible too. You really, really need to listen to them from Zep Tokyo or Line Club Shibuya. They will amaze you too.

If you already praise the band you will be all the more shocked how good they are, they have great MV but "live" they are simply the best, I'm happy that you like them directly! Lovebites is the best power metal band in the world (I don't say that because they are women, but because they are simply musically top class, the guys have a lot of respect for them) I would like to recommend another incredible women's band from Japan "BAND- MAID "currently the best hard rock band in the world. I know your focus is more vocals, but the dual guitars are a big part of what makes Lovebites stand out--there have probably been at most 3-4 other bands in history with two truly top-tier lead guitarists, and these two are as good a duo as any in history. One of their strengths is that Midori and Miyako are actually so different in style and tone, which makes their duets all the more powerful. Midori is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion and pinch harmonics. They can both smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands.

Another Japanese band to consider from a vocal teacher standpoint would be the Wagakki Band. Yuko Suzuhana is amazing. She melds a traditional singing style with modern styles for a unique sound. Plus the band uses an assortment of traditional Japanese instruments along with modern rock instruments. Zenbonzakura is probably their most well known song but songs such as Yoshiwara Lament (especially the live version with the extra shamisens), Hanafurumai and Hakushu Kassai are also good choices. Actually they have dozens of good choices. They will probably be unlike anything you have heard before.

Lovebites, as you noticed by some comments you read, are the best band on the planet right now.
As many mentioned "Epilogue" is one of the best ballads of all time. You will see Miyako (the one that ended the songs with solo) play acoustic guitar, then back and forth between piano and electric guitar. Spectacular multi-instrumentalist, composers and song writers since they do it all by themselves.
Since you are more into vocals, try Band-Maid, Aldious, Baby Metal, Unlucky Morpheus, Nemophila and Wagakki Band. And yes, most are better live than studio version, something you rarely see or hear.
There is a saying going around, no matter how good you are in either singing or playing an instrument, no matter how much you practice, there is an Asian girl that is just better than you.
Example: So Hyang for singing. The best female vocalist and second best to Dimash.
Now you got to see all of this live show, and all the MV... I'll bet my head you won't be disappointed AT ALL. Lovebites will rule the metal world once this covid shit is over, and this is an old metalhead talking.

Right now there is an army of female rock and metal bands doing amazing things in Japan. Check out the Lovebites suggestions but you could also look into bands like Band Maid (pretty much anything live is great), Nemophila (Reitai or their Maximum the Hormone cover is a good choice. New, but very talented), Mary’s Blood, Aldious, Babymetal (female singers), Scandal, etc. You could spend months to years just doing female Japanese rock bands. And the great thing is that most have their own unique sound and style. You won’t hear a dozen bands that all sound the same.
Good of you to draw attention to the great all-female rock/metal scene in Japan.

But they are a hard-rock band singing in japanese.
I believe maybe Puzzle live is a good starting point, since it highlights the sinergy between Miku and Saiki and their harmonies.
A lot of people in the metal scene think "Oh, it's a bunch of really attractive Japanese girls, it's just a gimmick", then quickly change their minds once they hear it. Lovebites is the real deal, and they can run circles around most of the guys without breaking a sweat!

There is something really cool happening in Japan right now, tons of women in hard rock/metal just killing it. Lots of all girl bands, lots of women fronting bands, lots of women really getting recognition as talented musicians. Not just "good for girls" in metal, but known as "some of the best" guitarists, bassists, and drummers...there are lots of amazing female drummers in Japan right now.

Yeah, these gals are exceptional at their art to be sure. Great vocals. The guitarists play well off each other and have some of the best dueling guitar moments in metal IMO. The drummer is an absolute machine. The bassist, though not often the focus in most bands is also playing her heart out. All while wearing high heels somehow.

Did someone say “Epilogue, or Edge of the World”? These are 2of their 10% least harsh songs, but it’s also where the singer get to show her roots (think lounge soul). She also has a ton of fun vamping in “Dancing with the Devil”. Glad you checked out & appreciated some huge talent in little packages. Japan is putting out great musicians. One difference is that Asami writes and sings in English despite being conversational but not fluent, and working around a strong accent. Poke around Japanese metal, you will find a lot of different types of groups that are all very talented women. Lovebites is doing power metal justice, two strong leads, a drummer that gallops, a bassist that knows how ride with the drums or leads to give everything more weight, and big vocals. Beyond that give Mary's Blood, Bridear, Band-Maid, Aldious, Nemophila, and many others a good listen. There is also a stack of mixed male/female bands that are very good as well as some all male bands. The Japanese are really carrying the touch of Rock/Metal, hell I even Stan for Babymetal.
