I just cooked the dish today and I have to say it's super fancy, super delicious and super simple. The combination of the blended kim and sesame seeds plus the perilla oil is amazing. 감사합니다, 맛있었어요. 잘 먹었습니다
The last time we made a trip to the Korean grocery here in Oakland (sadly, it's "the" Korean grocery as in "the only" Korean grocery; San Francisco just got an H-mart but it's an hour away at least) my husband looked at how many things I was dropping into our basket. "You know we have to carry this all home on the bus, right?" he asked. "Blame Daniel!" I replied cheerfully. "I wouldn't have known I needed *this* , or *this* , or *this* if it weren't for his videos!" 😄 On the list for next time: perilla oil.
Need an H Mart in Sacramento area. Korean Plaza is nice but I would kill for an H-Mart too. There's a bunch of 99 Ranch and SF Markets here in Sacramento though if you're more into that.
Made this yesterday. It was fkn AMAZING!! My husband and I had 3 bowls each!! Keep it up Daniel!! Now I’m really looking forward to ur next video upload!!! Thanks for this awesome dish!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻
I just made a version of this tonight with sesame oil (I really wanted to try it and I didn’t want to wait until I could make the drive for the parilla oil ☹️) and it was amazing I can imagine it’s going to be even better once I do the full thing! Thank you for this recipe!
I finally found Perilla oil online. I love anything cold noodles and am contemplating having these today, even though we‘re experiencing the chilliest spring since 35 years!
Looks truly high-end but actually simple and healthy. What an ideal summer meal treat. Chef is very likeable and relatable. No ego. I love the way the potato pancakes were prepared. Perfect combination... Thank you!
My perilla oil arrived today. And I quickly made this. Omg,its so good, massiseo,so nutty, aromatic and savoury. Thank you for sharing Dan-yul. It's amazing, will definitely become a staple recipe in my repertoire.
I came here looking for how to cook or put together a recipe for noodles and perilla oil as I just got my Korean Handmade Colored Noodles. Noodle master Kim Hyun-Kyu said that the best way to eat his handmade noodles is with perils oil and little bit of salt … so, I’m searching for ways to cook the 5 dif types of handmade noodles that I have, so I can enjoy and experience as much as I can. Black, Yellow, Blue, White and Red noodles. Your video was great idea. You got my subscription.
I love this cold soba. Reminds me of summers in Hawai'i. It was just the thing for a light but filling lunch in the heat of the day. If we had it, I added julienned kamaboko. Yuuuuummmm
the second recipe reminded me of one of my favorite dishes growing up! it's called reiberdatschi and is bavarian :) here is the recipe my mom uses: - grate 800g worth of potatoes - mix the grated potatoes with 400g of low fat curd cheese - add 2 eggs, pepper and 3 teaspoons of salt - mix everything really well! fry it up really crispy and serve with lingonberry jam :) it's the perfect rainy day snack!
does anyone remember the video where he made perilla oil salad dressing?? now that there's another episode of perilla oil i'm considering ordering a bottle since it's not easily found here!
I have literally everything to make this already in my house. What a beautiful day! (But it’s Friday, so I’m making pizza for dinner. Maybe this weekend?! I need to make some crispy tofu, too. Forget what it’s actually called, but we make a tangy gochujang sauce for it and my hunky is so obsessed. I think they’d be a great pair!)
I watched a mukbang eating this dish today and I was looking for the recipe, then RUclips recommended this vid to me! :3 would def try this recipe soon, it looks SO GOOD
Do your have more recipes using perilla oil? Like salad dressings? I bought a bottle of perilla oil and would appreciate more recipes using it. Many thanks!
@@empty_seat corn syrup isn’t limited to korean cooking. it’s in a lot of baked goods, jellies, candies, etc. you should be able to find it at a local grocery store in the baking section i think.
3 years later and I still come back to this recipe every spring/summer. Thank you neighbor 🥰
So happy I found some perilla oil and put it in my basket! Can't wait to make this--thank you!

I used to go all the way to KP until they built an H-Mart in Milpitas
Korean Plaza, right? That place has everything!
I'm heading there right after this video!
I heard about the opening of HMart in SF. I want to take a trip up there to see the bridge and HMart. Lol.

Yesssss! Perilla Oil 💚
had this for breakfast and i'm eating this for lunch again
와 엄청 쉽네요! 김이랑 메밀국수 사와서 만들어봐야겠어요. 깨소금+김가루 무슨 맛일지가 제일 궁금합니다 ㅎㅎ
If I make this for lunch, would you recommend assembling it in the morning or pack everything separately and assemble it right before I eat?

You can use regular syrup ( for cold drink) or corn syrup instead.
I used honey and it still turned out amazing
