    Dude. I did door dash first time ever in the very first state. I Started down south where it’s much more secluded, but then I seen that they were getting extra money to go up north to Newcastle or Wilmington. I literally almost became a victim of human trafficking with the messaging part of the app. Now I stick to near home which the biggest city is Dover the capital of Delaware. I sometimes go back down south to Harrington but there’s a guy who has that shit locked down. So I barely get orders.

      NOT TO MENTION THE GAS PRICES!!!! It’s not even worth it. I Luckily have a full-time job that offers voluntary overtime. I could work seven days a week if I wanted to. It’s a packing warehouse for a very popular diet. So I’m just gonna stick to the 20 minute drive there and back and collect my time and a half from now on. Fuck DoorDash..

    The problem which no one seems to be pointing out is that no one should be forced to tip or should be expected to tip. The business should pay them enough so that they should never rely on customer’s and their perception of service to get pay.
    Service workers do not get paid enough by their employers and that’s American capitalism for you because nowhere else in the world tip culture is that prominent.

    • @brittneysilver2351
      @brittneysilver2351 Год назад

      Exactly. We as workers would have the power if we all banned together and did a strike. But sadly, what would likely happen is that we would just get replaced by a new group of folks willing to accept the pay.

    100 at 1214.13 that ends up being about 12.14 an hr which in my state is a little higher than minimum wage , that milage tho😲.... As someone with disabilities this job- at a pace like 5hrs a day seems more conducive than alot of other jobs with certain work requirements that I physically can't meet.

    And along with no tips, getting a '1' rating to boot! I had a horrible no tip delivery to an unmarked or addressed apartment unit. And the default Google map kept freezing as usual. I had to call the customer twice for clarification...
    I reported the delivery problems to DoorCRASH and saw the "1" rating the next day...
    I'm calling BULLSHIT!

    Firstly, we do all appreciate you making content! I have to add my two cents here, though. On the $18.50 order - the base pay was high because people were properly declining it. It was still a huge rip off for you to take an $18.50 order for 20 miles. Even a dollar per mile is a ripoff, and ruins your vehicle without being profitable. I'm surprised to see that you're still trying to torture yourself by taking these trash offers in hopes of crooked DD rewarding you in some way. When you decline the trash offers, it gives DD two options - raise the base pay, or cancel the order if they can't get it serviced. By declining the crap offers, you're helping out the strength of each respective market - turn crap offers into more money. The more decliners in each market, the better that it is for everyone.

    I have said it before just like some of the other comments here that if somebody is foolish enough to take those orders they are going to keep dishing them out. THIS IS ABUSE N TAKING PPL FOR GRANTED ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO ARE HARDLY SURVIVING AND DESPERATE! And like I said this should be illegal to try to pay someone those pathetic offers with all that we drivers do for that one person who sitting on their butt on the couch. It's absolutely infuriating. Sadly new drivers don't know any better typically and they take these orders thinking that they have to. I had to learn that you could reject it because I was completely miserable and about to quit and still even still not taking anything under $6 is still a struggle. Because I get bombarded daily... hours upon hours with those pathetic offers. Shame on these companies and customers who think that we are going to do all of that for them and not tip us well or not tip at all it's disgusting. If I owned one of these businesses having many drivers I would treat them like gold and I would require and make note to each and every customer placing an order that tipping is required and mention the extent of what these drivers have to do for these customers so that they hopefully can be appreciated. i know how you felt after those 100 hrs. i did 15 hrs one day when i first started, making only 117 that time. i went home crying. its abuse on us drivers and our vehicles. And for all of us good luck trying to sell our vehicles with all those high miles when the time comes

      Typically, you know based on the miles to dollars ratio. For instance, if it is $10 for 2 miles...they tipped. If it is $2 for 10 miles...they didn't tip. The best way to be sure is to aim for at least $2 per mile... example: $8 for 4 miles. I hope that helps. Well wishes to you!

    You don't come off as ungrateful at all. Graciousness is a two way street. Are you ungrateful or is the customer just a heartless scrooge? My acceptance rate is currently sitting at 34%. I will sit around twiddling my thumbs before I accept another base pay trip. If you are grateful that a dasher is willing to go wait for your food, secure it in their vehicle, transport it and follow your instructions to deliver, SHOW US THE MONEY! We have bills to pay just like you. I say the same thing when I pull up to a nice house with a driveway full of expensive cars. I live in a mobile home with 2 vehicles, 1 is 7 years old and 1 is 10 years old. I may fake it but I am not grateful for you if you don't show me that you grateful for me.

    I try to understand things so I'm not upset and resentful but please somebody explain to me how is it that people have no problem tipping somebody who just brings food from a kitchen to a table 50 ft away but somehow I'm supposed to be okay with going grocery shopping for you and then going to another restaurant to pick up food for you and waiting for the food then driving 10 mi to go drop off the orders to you and I don't deserve a tip? I just don't get it everybody knows what gas costs everybody knows how busy the restaurant is that I'm going to.

    Do you get paid enough from your RUclips Video to do this kinda challenge?

  • @stormysyndrome7043
    @stormysyndrome7043 Год назад

    No. Imo base pay is only affected by the size of the tip left by the customer. If it’s a high tip, DD lowers the base pay and applies it to low ball offers….kinda like the $18.50 delivery made in this video. Base pay pretty much made the entire delivery almost worth taking… but I don’t think I’d have taken it simply due to it taking me way out of any zone with 0% chance of a return delivery.
    We take long trips every shift… kind of a part of the experience. We dash here, we dash there. On Uber, on grubhub, on carty cart, on dasher… now dash away dash away now. Ho-ho-ho :)

    You are brave, sir! I was going to do the same thing but I wasn't going to make myself nuts. I lost top dasher, but for some reason I lost the ability to schedule at 3pm too even though my stats qualify for that early scheduling. Customer support doesn't know what's going on, but I suspect having a low acceptance rate makes it so I have to wait until midnight. Anyways, fuck the low paying orders!
