Everytime I see setups like this, I wish my dad could gain his eyesight back, and I would make this for him. He had to stop driving truck because of glaucoma many years ago...and he has missed it so much.
There's someone living near me who suffered a spinal injury and can't move his legs anymore, but has reasonable amount of movements in his arms, and as a result, is in an electric wheelchair. He used to be a busdriver. Sometimes I wonder if he would like it if he could try my simulation rig (not as extensive as the one in the video by far), since I could then work the pedals and he could to the steering, because he has talked about his former profession a couple of times. Sorry to hear about your dad, I can't begin to imagine what it's like to loose your eyesight like that, someone in my family got a donor cornea because the other option was going blind in that eye... It was wild to hear that person say from his hospital bed stuff like "WOW, I can now see that the door opening can handle a whole hospital bed!!" (after having been unable to see depth in their vision for years due to the damaged cornea being unable to focus, and this person's brain having basically shut down that eye from ever participating in converging, along with the eye being so out of focus in some situations the information from it was ignored in information processing, basically).

They make sim games for everything now. I’m a huge sim fan I play flight sims, truck sims and train sims. But flight sims do have a special place in heart. But the others make a good change of pace.

instead of self-driving tesla semis i could see this being the future of truck driving. people just remoting into trucks and driving them from the comfort of their own homes without having to be thousands of miles away at a time would be pretty crazy

sounds like a liabilty and safety issue. What if something happened and you cant even see or speak to the driver of the semi. I cant see this being reality. What if the driver has a connection issue or doesnt see something. Drinks alcohol at home and crashes. no way will this ever be reality. AI if anything will drive semis.
My dad hauled nationally when I was a kid. He also smokes marb lights so when I saw them chilling in the console I couldn't help but smile. This is a wholesome vdeo.
