    I'd recommend that most people graduating into good paying jobs out of college not put a large sum of their income towards depreciating assets. I was lucky to land a job at about 110k/year out of college working in the nuclear industry and in the 3 years I've been in the field I've set aside 120,000 into savings. That money is making me roughly 7,000-8,000$/yr through investments on top of my earnings from work and it just keeps growing. Compound interest works wonders and can build a pretty massive nest egg with the right saving patterns. I totally understand the satisfaction of buying nice things for yourself and respect your decision to spend your money however you want though.

    • @jonathan1391544
      @jonathan1391544 6 лет назад +2

      Kyle Link i agree, but if you do wanna buy something like a ferrari then it can work out to get something 10years old or older, because it depreciates very slowly at that point, or sometimes even increases in value. But there will be maintenance costs.

    • @XxRC23xX
      @XxRC23xX 6 лет назад +19

      If you don't mind me asking, what did you major in and where do you invest your money? I'll be graduating soon and I'd like to make wise financial decisions like you.

    • @tygervoods8358
      @tygervoods8358 6 лет назад +1

      KeyboardWarrior True, but buying a Ferrari is a huge investment. Buying a brand new or a few year old Ferrari is a lot better as to buying an older Ferrari model. They do depreciate like hell usually but then the maintenance bills and resell is hard af.

    Engineering can be very rewarding. Some of the things to take into account when we look at money, however, is the location, experience, industry, company, etc. A Civil Engineer in NYC won't get paid the same as one from Peora, IL. In general, assuming there are no loans, or big debts to pay off from attending school or living up the college lifestyle and you're responsible with your money, engineering salaries are good to lay the ground for a good future.

      Go Beyond Engineering That’s what I’ve been thinking about pursuing but I didn’t really know if there were any good jobs that would pay well

    The beginning of your story is very similar to mine. Would you recommend taking mechanical engineering if one wanted to have an impact of humanity?

    I was thinking about engineering because at school im pretty good at it but im afraid of going futher to school or that I wont understand what sertain things mean because I live in UK but im from Poland and I my English isnt perfect so I will usve trouble understanding and remembering things

    • @RelearnMath
      @RelearnMath  6 лет назад +3

      Engineering is a lot of small building blocks out together. If you can understand the blocks you will understand all the concepts in Engineering. I promise

      RelearnMath - so it isn't lots of writing, thinking, and all that hard stuff, I like working im just afraid of not being able to do my job correctly

      I think everyone is scared of that. I work with people from all over the world, you already live in the UK a place where people speak English. I constantly deal with people in Asian who just took a few English classes and can get their work done.
