I've always been able to use all calculators on exams. I've never needed them often most of my professors exams are deriving equations usually just basic math.

Being an engineering student is like being in a horror movie, every week/month your class starts to get smaller and smaller as people mysteriously "disappear". I started with 120 people in my freshman class and ended up with less than 15 student after 4 years.
When you don't have chegg and every helpful link on google is chegg, you'll learn to hate chegg a little. I did get it last semester though. Very helpful.

We had one professor do that. Its with Complexity Theory. He said turn in the exam after 24 hrs cuz its take home. It took me 16 hrs to finish the whole thing. Most didn't even get to finish

+James Cioffi The thing is that an art major, for example may seem really easy in compassion to engineering, but I'm sure there's plenty of engineers that can't draw to save their lives. Every major is difficult in it's own way. You just have to choose one that you're willing to put in time for.
I m someone that studied enginering and do a lot of drawing pictures. Real art can be very hard to acieve to a proper level, it requieres a lot of knowledge on the subject and practice, the problem is most art schools currently are way to infected with the postmodernism crap, and their destruction of proper art wich can take years ordecades to master. That said I do still think engineering at high level is more difficult, because of the higly complex concepts and match you have to learn
For someone who actually majored in both fields- I think engineers feel they are so much smarter than other students - and why is it that people seem to think art is an easy study? Most engineers barely make it by with low gpas and cram for exams. Sadly I found my art colleague where much more humble and some much smarter “because they actually use their right brain to solve problems in conjunction with their left “- than my engineering colleges.
There's nothing wrong with fast food jobs... It is true that most engineers probably don't end up working at McDonald's, but even if one did, there's no shame there.

After being in aerospace for 36 years and working on the V-22, M427, C-130, AC-130, KC-36, B-2 and now LAIRCM I am glad I gave blood, sweat and tears for a Mechanical Eningeering Degree from Vanderbilt University. It was not easy but well worth it over the long-run. Stay with the studies of engineering. It is worth it.

Well, I'm an engineering student and I do love circuits. Honestly, if so many engineering students hate engineering, I don't know why they are in engineering.
Because apparently engineering is considered a degree which will give you a stable job, so that attracts people who don't even like math or science but are willing force themselves to do it just to have more security in their future.
Oh Kay True, but those people end up being the ones who drop out or switch majors. I've seen it happen too many times, engineering is too difficult and time consuming if you don't like what you're doing, even money isn't motivating enough. Also, when it comes time to interview for jobs, companies can tell when you have real passion for what you do vs. people who are just looking to get a paycheck.
EE here. Circuits are awesome if you know wtf is going on. Taking Electricity and Magnetism lab right now and they expected us to just know how to build circuits. Thank God I bought a mini breadboard and Arduino last summer and built some simple little circuits or I wouldve been screwed in this class.
If you get an engineering degree you don't necessarily have to be an engineer. There are lots of places that you can work that aren't necessarily in engineering like technical sales and logistics.
