Having grown up in Pennsylvania, I totally get your story about the towns. I had a friend who was a sheriff's deputy who had to accompany the sheriff into one of those towns to arrest one of them on rape charges. They got to the town line in the police car where they met the family of the guy who had done the crime. The sheriff spoke to what you might call the patriarch, who told him to come back in 24 hours and he could have his man. They came back in 24 hours and found him drowned in a creek.
They didn't want strangers in the town, and if this was the price they had to pay to ensure that even law enforcement didn't come in, then so be it.

Have had a 1st gen for 5 years now. My wife 100% enjoys the safe feeling you were getting at. I enjoy this vehicle because it always answers "sure let's do it" to whatever you want from it. Want to haul things and tow things, sure. Want tons of interior space so your not smashed into your adventure vehicle, sure. Want to go down that trail or un maintained dirt road, sure. Want to do that at more then a crawl, sure. There's a blizzard outside, should we go do that thing, sure let's do it. I enjoy that this truck is never the reason you can't, or shouldn't, do something with your vehicle.

So many of his reviews are filled with his projected insecurities pertaining to that fear.
As a counter, notice how much different his reviews of weird cars made/driven by eccentrics like himself are. Reviews of weird creations made by college students on a budget or beat to hell 90’s Japanese cars driven by dudes in anime t shirts are always glowing with praise. Videos about cars where Mr. Regular feels he isn’t part of the group into said car often go the route of this video.

Now that I’m highschool-age - the part of Mr. Regular’s life he obsesses over the most - I realize this is him projecting the social failures of his youth onto vehicles. His aversion to any symbolic representation of masculinity or patriotism feels more like the bottled resentment from being outcasted than it does a well-reasoned worldview. With this in mind while interpreting the content of the video, it becomes nearly unwatchable.

"The only thing they have to entertain themselves is terrorizing outsiders"
The most fear I've ever felt in my life fits this scenario you were talking about exactly. I was doing a cross country motorcycle trip, taking the TransAmerica Trail from the coast of NC to OR. I was camping to save money and get the whole experience. I didn't plan out where I would camp beforehand because I wasn't sure how many miles I'd be able to cover each day.
I found myself in rural western North Carolina on my KLR 650, it was already dark and I'd found no place to stay. The headlight was awful and I couldn't safely continue through the winding Appalachian roads, so I had no choice but to sleep on the side of the road. It was a paved road and way too high traffic for me to feel comfortable, and I was sleeping in just a bivvy sack less than 10 feet from the road, I had to clear the area of broken glass that could puncture my inflatable pad.
Every car passing by freaked me out a bit, and once a man stopped a bit from me and shined a flashlight into my face and questioned me about what I was doing and if I was on the run from the law. A bit later, when I was trying to get to sleep, I heard a car pass by slowly, then an ear piercing cackling. I felt it all the way down my spine. I unzipped my bivvy and looked out to see a truck speeding away. I told myself "Its just some local teenagers fucking with me" but I was shook. It became worse when half an hour later the same thing happened again. After that, I laid awake and plugged my ears and got nervous every time I heard a car approaching.
I felt so exposed sleeping in a sack on the side of the road, and knowing that someone was out there that could do anything they wanted to me. Not only that, they had doubled back to fuck with me more.
The next morning, I left and passed a campground 5 miles down the road. Maybe they were going there to scare the children. Bunch of shitheads.

Essentially we notice people not from around the place as they're probably lost and its courteous to wave to people as you go past just to say hello as inevitably you are probably lost as shit, will need towing out of a flooded creek or need some kind of car/food/accommodation for the night- being friendly as a first impression goes a long way, when all you have is a community.
Course the humanities students will think that we're all inbred country mutants and that's ok, but the reality is they were probably just trying to figure out why that random arsehole didn't stop to say g'day or even wave hello

Mom and I pulled off the highway to take a break on the way to Lancaster. All main street boarded up. Parked the car in an abandoned, dilapidated and looted like ancient pirates and vikings had an epic war inside a torched taco bell. Step out onto the cracked pavement with waist high weeds, discarded syringes and used condomns. Then millions of giant crows lifted off over our heads screeching loudly blocking out the dull sun and spreading a shadow of gloom over our janky rental. Not a soul on the streets like a radioactive zombie infested dystopia. We bailed like a teen pop star out of Pelican Bay after getting busted for injuring bystanders in a hit and run 8 ball DWI.

The turn signal thing has a name, something like "highway signals" or something like this. They're for signaling lane changes when you're just making a small move with the wheel that wouldn't be enough to cancel a regular signal, so you can change lanes with just a little flick of a finger on the turn signal stalk instead of having to push it all the way up/down and then bring it back. I actually like this feature a lot.

Poetically, perhaps ironically, Mr. Regular describing the fear he feels driving through THOSE towns are is the exact same fear the truckbois feel that drives them to buy this type of truck, except for them it's fear (as Mr. R described) of being seen as not masculine. That fear for them never really goes away as it does for Mr. R who can just drive away from that town. That town lives inside them.
So every time you hear one of these truckbois chirping mud tires around 90 degree corners or rolling coal in front of the youth dance studio or playing NHRA Drag Racing 2 at every stop light.....remember, they're trying to get away as fast as possible from that little town inside their head which they can never escape.

That 6.2 is way down on specific output from any of Ford's current V8's, and even the 3.5 Ecoboost can reliably handle the same power as the TRX without all that much modification. The Demon was a flop, with only a select couple people even coming close to Dodge's quoted 1/4 mile times (after extensive modification and many passes). In fact, the average 1/4 mile eta on the Dodge Demon is about the same as consistent passes in stock automatic Mustangs. Dodge hasn't been on any kind of throne in at least the last 30 years.

Yeah it's like a $2000 more expensive engine, $1000 more expensive suspension package, some fake vents, and chunky tires. It should, at most, be a $5000 option, for as disappointing as it is compared to the standard.
They wanna jack it up a solid 5 figures, it should at least have an engine to rival the Demon and remote adjustable suspension.
To be morally upstanding and charge as much as they do; it should have the wheel to wheel width of a dually, ground clearance that would please even a rock crawling enthusiast, a diesel option that makes 1000lb/ft, a gas option that makes 1000hp, and a steel tubing cage throughout the cab that makes it difficult to climb into the back seat and actually will save you if you flip the truck. It should do 0-60 in 4 or less with street tires and 4high on. It should have a shifter next to the main shifter that switches to bulldog gears where 5000rpm on first is only 5mph. Give me the amount of money it costs to buy a Raptor and I could put every one of these features in a last gen Ranger if I really wanted. Yeah, the 3500lb curb weight XLT models. The "that's not a real truck" Rangers. I could get 1000hp in a Ranger easy af for $20k and then dump the rest into a suspension that can make speedbumps feel like tar snakes.
But in our timeline, they do this garbage.

I was working for an expedited freight company a few years ago and had the privilege to drive to Ulysses, PA and spent the night in a Dollar General parking lot. I had brought a shelf from Scranton and the store wouldn’t open until the morning. When the sun came up, an old man was sweeping the parking lot. I greeted him only to discover he wasn’t employed by Dollar General. He knew everyone who worked there, but took it upon himself to sweep the parking lot. He told me about the “rat-infested” house that formerly occupied the land. Another fellow around my age showed up. He looked like a construction worker and he also recounted stories about the old house and the people who once lived there. Eventually, a DG employee showed up and I was soon on my way. I didn’t know where to go afterwards, but I decided to drive until I had cellphone service. I’ve been to several small towns and everyone seemed nice there, if not, inquisitive about my business in their town. Turns out, it’s the so-called “White Supremacist Capital of the World.” I was glad to be gone. Haha.

It was like I crossed an invisible line, everything was dull and cloudy and cold. There were three abandoned old houses on this one stretch. That spooked me to hell. I don't know how ubiquitous it is in the line up, but I know the fiesta has had it for a couple years at least. They’re “tough” because of their possessions and beer bellies.
