Practical Magic. Just, everything about that house that we get to see as an audience---I love it. It's cozy, the kitchen is huge with a massive fireplace and butcher block island. There's a greenhouse and tiny gardens. It's a lacy Victorian on a seaside cliff in an old New England town. It's a house for guests and a house you can get lost in. Even though technically I think the house is in Washington and the interior was filmed on a set in California.
So glad somebody said this! This is the ultimate house to me! 🌿🍂🌘

lorelai and rory's house in gilmore girls is one of my absolute favorites!! i love the cozy living room, the small and almost childish bedroom of rory's, and the quaint and never-used kitchen. the show also just has such a cozy vibe to it that i always associate that house with warmth and happy times!!
That house was The Walton’s house before it as the Gilmore Girls’s house.
I also loved Sookie’s kitchen... that big window with all the shelves and colored glass bottles... love it!!
The Gilmore kitchen is my ultimate dream kitchen. The tile! The vintage appliances! So good.
Miss Honey's cottage in the Matilda movie has always held a special place in my heart!

The porch from Lorelai's house is so conforting to me, specially when those purple flowers are blooming. Everything Stars Hollow is conforting though, I guess it's the small town vibes
I dream about Bag End. I want to live in a Hobbit hole so badly. Also, the bedroom at the north pole in the Santa Clause where Judy brings hot chocolate is just so magical. It made my little childhood heart fall in love with sleigh beds.

I love Kathleen’s apartment in You’ve Got Mail. Specifically her pretty wooden floors - I want floors like that someday. Also Kiki’s parent’s house (her room and her mom’s garden apothecary space). Ooh and the house in Cinderella 2015.

The house in the show Charmed stays with me. Not sure if it’s the house itself - even now I have a hard time picturing any certain room in my mind, or just the sense of family history and magic, but I remember it fondly.

The house is for me the most stunning house on TV ever! It may not be the greatest, but it has a vibe of history & coziness and i just love it.
Personally, I have a slight obsession with the house in Practical Magic! Sadly, it wasn't a real house, just a shell, and they had to destroy it after filming, but omg this witchy house was perfection! So warm and inviting with a greenhouse attached to it and a beautiful view on the water! The kitchen cupboards are gorgeous, the staircase is fantastic, the attic... everything is wonderful in it! I found the plans a few years ago on the Internet and the day I'll be able to build a house of my own, I will certainly take inspiration from it. I am in love with the Practical Magic house (and with the movie itself, for that matter...) ❤ ✨

I live where the house (shell) was built and many scenes in the movie were filmed!! I even know some folks who played extras in the movie!
The house could not be built fully because the site chosen was a sacred site for a few of our local native tribes, and thus the ground could not be disturbed.

Aunt Lily and Vivians house and The Pie Hole in Pushing daisies. Such a fun, whimsical show where the set design could be argued to be the main character.

When you were talking about the houses being fun colors I thought of my parents pueblo in Mexico and how BEAUTIFUL the houses are! The mayor pays for all the houses to be painted these beautiful bright colors every couple of years and it’s so charming. I love walking around and seeing this small pueblo and the colorful houses😊
it's the same in Honduras! I was always like "why doesn't Canada have this?!" cause I was used to seeing it in central america and so I'm so happy that apparently the Maritimes got the memo hahaha

Literally any Nancy Meyers’ film. Those films have great set designs and beautiful houses. Also, any house with a sun room/conservatory, and with its own library; shelves built into the walls. 😍😍

I absolutely love the houses in Big Fish. The house in the “real world” and the small cottages in the “story town” one is grand and beautiful, the others are so cute. I also love the house in “the house with the clock on the wall”. My husband and I pass it every time we visit his aunt’s house.
Lorelai and Rory's house from Gilmore Girls! I'm building a house now and seriously considered just using that exact layout, even going as far as finding the blueprints. Didn't end up going that direction but have always loved that home.
One thing that’s weird about that house is there’s only one room upstairs but otherwise a beautiful home.
I've always adored the interior shots of the day rooms from Atonement. They are full of pattern and color with dark wood and gilt, but also faded and subtle. I also think that many of the additional locations in Downton Abbey, like the Dower House and Crawley House, are so gorgeous.
I watched Kiki's Delivery Service 7 times in my life and planning to watch it some other 10 times soon. One of Ghibli’s most beautiful gems indeed, and the houses there were BEAUTIFUL 😻

Every single room of the house in ‘Knives Out’ is massive inspiration to me, but *specifically* the secret study with the library books and artifacts stacked everywhere, and the door that only appears if you kick the wall juuuust right.

the first movie that came to mind that you might love is the secret world of arrietty < they have bold prints and tiles and furniture has flower molding even the door is painted vibrant green it is just a sight to behold.
I remember being so obsessed with the house in 10 Things I Hate About You lol. Just the outside, really, because I was desperate to have a cool wrap-around porch like they did.

The set of "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" movie is stunning! But my favourite is the cottage of Isola Pribby (Katherine Parkinson). I love the garden that surrounds the house and that in the kitchen there are many flowers drying tied from the ceiling. So the outside and inside kind of merge together. I also love the London bedroom of Juliet Ashton (Lily James). It's quite simple and minimal but all the furniture works well together, plus I adore the high ceiling with the tall windows.

@@myriamcroteau7006 Last year when I was sad about all the autumn celebrations being cancelled, I put on Practical Magic and watched it like 5 times in one day while sipping tea and doing work from home business. It's such a balm for the soul.
@@wangocopperboom That is totally something I would do! Ha ha! I feel you! I often put it in the background even if I do something else because just the sound of it makes me feel good. I also have the soundtrack. I bought it when I was a teenager and it is still one the CDs I listen to the most. (It is in my car right now, lol!)

I fell in love with Gull Cottage from the classic b&w film The Ghost & Mrs. Muir (not the stupid tv show) starring Rex Harrison & Gene Tierney. Set in England, the actual house was on the CA coast.

Howl's moving castle would be my ultimate aesthetic! The kitchen/living room and simple but beautiful fireplace. I even kinda love the cluttered versions of the same spaces in the beginning of the film. (great vibes in a lot of studio Ghibli films)

The Owens' family house from Practical Magic, The Addams mansion from Addams Family, and Miss Price's home frim Bedknobs and Broomstick's were all houses that I wished I could live in as a kid. Witchy aesthetic is my thing haha. But I also really like Mia's room and "tower" from the Princess Diaries....the spiral staircase, the firemen's pole, the secret room over her bedroom where she could chill out....loooove it!

I gravitate to nearly every movie incarnation of 221b.. all of Sherlock Holmes knick knacks, scientific equipment, instruments, books, pictures, old photographs.. so comfy in all its clutter. And Bags end of course. Hobbit cosyness is peak.
However my bedroom has a huge touch of the Gusu Lan residency from chinese costume fantasy drama "The Untamed" and similar shows.

something about the house in cheaper by the dozen (steve martin, tom welling version) has always really appealed to me - all the nooks and crannies, the multi levels the built ins, the Turret room! it looked so lived in and warm.

I love the house from The Spiderwick Chronicles, the house from Mandie and the Secret Tunnel, and the house from the Movie Penelope-great colors in that movie too.
I love Mediterranean and Spanish hacienda type of homes. I’ve always loved the hacienda in A Walk in the Clouds.
My favorite movie house has to be Bilbo's hobbit hole and just the whole Shire in general! SO beautiful and homey and cozy. I definitely want to have a hobbit-style kitchen someday.
I recently watched the last black man in San Francisco, which is about a man who reclaims an old home built by his grandfather. The house is so beautiful! 😍

I've always been a fan of the houses in Dan in Real Life and The Family Stone. They're both big but so cozy and full of everything a large family would have accumulated over years.
And if ur naughty/odd man out, u get to sleep in the laundry room with the unbalanced load washing.. makes me laugh every time

I made my sister watch The Jane Austen Book Club because she’s never heard of it and she likes Jane Austen related things lol some of these movies are under the radar which is unbelievable. Most of the movies that happen to be slow paced with lots of dialogue get under recognized yet they have so much to offer within the conversations that the characters have 😄😄
I renovated my bedroom late last year and got the inspiration for the wall colour from a tv show. Also I've always loved the house in Charmed. I used to watch that show a lot as a child and the house always struck me as so unique. It's built in that beautiful typical San Fransisco style (no idea what it's called), and it really feels like a home throughout the seasons.

The house in the game "what became of Edith finch" absolutely Blew my mind. I have never seen anything like it. The amount of love and detail and history in it is sth I could explore for endless hours if the game allowed. Absolutely fantastic game.

Last Black Man in San Francisco!!! The entire movie is about him loving, caring for, and the pain of having lost this giant old style San Francisco house. It’s a gorgeous (and quite sad) film that makes me wanna take good care of my space.

A room that has always made me wish I had something similar is L.B. Jeffries’s (James Stewart’s) apartment in Rear Window (1954). Yes, it’s kind of messy, but that’s part of the fun.
Bryan Fuller shows imo have just the most jaw-dropping set design. I love the aunts' house on Pushing Daisies; it's got a very eccentric, maximalist antique shop sort of feel to it. A little morbid, but I also really love Will Graham's farmhouse on Hannibal. It's the complete opposite sort of vibe: super cozy with books, more sparse furnishings, naturalistic tones and ofc a lot of dogs!

The house in “Something’s Gotta Give”! Is so open, airy, orderly, clean, luminous, from the art on the walls, the bookshelves! And her gorgeous room where she has her writer’s space right in front of this huge window! The aesthetics of that beach house is magical and I’m not even a “beach person”! You smell the ocean when you are watching scenes in that house! The sheer, flowy curtains! Seashells and sea stones used in decor so subtly. The furniture and walls a perfect palette of creamy white with shades of blue. The beach painting on the mantel is glorious (from the series “Swim Party” by California artist Kenton Nelson.) The kitchen is amazing! Even the dishes are perfect. The fact that the movie features my two favorite actors Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson makes it even better. Thank you for this video. 🤗🙏
My go to movie atm is midnight in paris. I love the cottage in The Holiday. And in practical magic they have a glass room where the plants are. Also green card has a beautiful scene where the love interest moves in to an apartment that needs renovating. Its beautiful.

Honestly, the houses in Lindsey Lohan’s The Parent Trap have imprinted on my memory. Also, the Stars Hollow house from Gilmore Girls is just so vibey. Love the kitchen and the living room. It’s so early 2000s!

The entire house from practical magic was my favorite character. It's cottage core, it's Old New England classy, it's a gem. The green house, the kitchen, even the staircase takes your breath away. I want to live there, I want to concoct spells there, I want to raise my children there.
Oh, and the house from The Money Pit, while a mess and a disaster, is gorgeous.

The house from The Fosters is like the ultimate "home" vibe. Just watch the intro and you'll get it. Also the house from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is awesome. Also I will never ever forget the bottle tree from Because of Winn Dixie.

I absolutely love Moonstruck and that kitchen really is everything!
I just rewatched all of Downtown Abbey and the living room of the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith) is so beautiful! Colourful with plants and a wonderful desk and comfortable sofas. That and Robert and Cora's bedroom (with turquoise walls and a four poster bed!) are total goals.
I attended the Downton Abbey exhibition when it toured in my neck of the woods and I really enjoyed walking through all these beautiful reconstructions of different rooms and noticing all the cool small details!

Nancy Meyers is famous for her beautiful home decor and movie sets. She is practically single-handedly responsible for the past couple decades of the white kitchen + shaker cabinets + black counters + subway tile craze after she released "Something's Gotta Give." I actually have several movie/tv series sets that I'm enamored with.

Please read Call Me By Your Name BEFORE watching the movie.. it’s such a great way to fully understand their longing and emotions while getting to visualize and just overall live in that beautiful setting for a few more hours after finishing the book
Or read the book after watching the movie for a fuller “aha!” effect.
The living room of "while you were sleeping" is so cozy and feels like family (ad the whole film does) and I also love Catherine's New York apartment in "you've got mail"
I’m kinda mad at myself that I didn’t have this video idea, haha. I’ve always been drawn to any traditional, classic, refined old-fashioned home design. I’ll mention tv series too. Notably, I’ve always been inspired by the houses on Desperate Housewives, especially Lynette’s and Bree’s house (which is the same house from movie The Burbs with Tom Hanks). The house in Knives Out is beautiful. I have yet to watch Emma but that looks stunning too! Other notable mentions: Alicia Florrick’s apartment in The Good Wife, Diane Lockhart’s apartment in The Good Fight, and most representations of Buckingham Palace and the White House - so basically any old expensive traditional home! 😅

The Lynch family home, "The Barns" in the Raven Cycle--I know you didn't like the 2nd book and beyond, but the vibes of that house were IMMACULATE. It's like a country/rural farmhouse type place in the Virignia foothills... everything about it was so rustic and dreamy and it has totally inspired my future house plans!!

I hav haven't seen anyone else say this, so I'll add the mom's house in London from the Lindsey Lohan Parent Trap is one of my favorites. I love how sophisticated yet cozy and lived in it is. The first shot you see of the house shows a door open to the back garden and I dream about what it looks like back there. The scenes in the mom's room where she's looking at her beauty table thing (lol can't think of what its called) The whole house is so warm and feminine, and then there's the darker coziness of the grandpa's office. just chef's kiss
Maybe not the whole house, but Max's room in Hocus Pocus is one of my favorites! I love that he has those stairs and the crows nest in his room! Every time I watch it and see him so annoyed to be living there I scream internally cuz he has the coolest room!
