Thank you for all the hard work you put into this video. So many fake AI generated affiliate marketers on RUclips. It makes you appreciate those that actually put the work in
Thanks for that Bob! When I first started I was lead astray from a few videos where they were paid promotions for a product and purchased that product and it turned out to be total crap. I want people to know the truth regardless and that is part of my mission. Appreciate the view!
Thank you for making this video. I just bought my MC1385 a few days ago but haven't opened it yet. I thought I could take a shortcut and get some more tutorials. This was awesome.
I bought this model for cleaning my car but also around the house. Have had it for one day and so far I like it. The pressurized steam shooting thru the attachments can be a bit loud. You might want to wear ear plugs or jam out with ear buds while cleaning. That aside - this is a great video!
Hey Matt, new Sub, I just ordered one of these 1385's. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and humor, great video! Anxious to see your detail review of this puppy in real world use on a vehicle.
Thank you for the sub! You won't be disappointed in that choice. Seriously it's a work horse for the money. I will say that it performed super well on the detail. Just gotta get the footage edited and I'll have it up!
Thanks for this in depth product overview! I bought this thing and wanted to get an idea of everything while I'm waiting for my Amazon delivery. Side note, you've got a marvelous beard.

I just ordered one on Amazon. Your video really makes me excited! I not only want it for my car, but I went with the big steamer to clean inside the house. The windows, floors, appliances, especially the stove and fridge, my shower and bathroom, everything is getting cleaned! Oh, I'm thinking of setting up a DI system with a cheap aquarium reverse osmosis DI four stage system that makes 50 gallons a day of 0% TDS water which can be used in the steam cleaner and the pressure washer. Guess I will use distilled water until I get that setup. edit: Another source of clean water I discovered is my local market has a drinking water dispenser machine at the entrance that fills up 5-gallon jugs you can buy in the store. The kiosk says it uses a reverse osmosis process that should remove all the nasties out of the water, and the best part it's $2 per gallon or 5 gallons. I will have to re-check on the price per gallon, but if it's $2 for 5 gallons, then it could even be used as a spotless rinse with the pressure washer using a syphon hose attachment into the jug from the pressure washer.
Thanks! No I have not, I have heard great things about both. I am not in an area where we have water restrictions so I just use water. Maybe I can do a video on some rinse-less solutions!
Is MCCulloch the same as Poulan? May have spelled both wrong but I saw the PoulanPro and someone told me they thought they were the same, some sort of merge or buyout blah blah. Heard of such?
Quick question, can you leave the distilled water in the tank for an extended period of time? I had a Bissell that I used tap water in, but I would empty after each use with no issues, but they had a recall on it.
I’ve been filling up my steamer all the way and it leaks out and it takes like 30 seconds for the gauge to go from yellow to the green. Am i overflowing the system and how do i know when to stop filling up the water?
Depending on which one you have (1385 or 1375) you might be overfilling. The 75 only takes 48oz and the 85 takes 64oz. They come with little plastic cups to be able to measure how much water you are putting in it. If you lost it you can just measure out that much distilled water with a measuring cup.
You can absolutely do that! Depending on the situation, say a more delicate interior, that would be a great option. I like to wrap it with a microfiber when I am cleaning headliners with the steamer!
I am on the fence between this and the Dupray Neat. This has a bit more pressure but the Neat has much higher steam temperature. Also a smaller footprint. Does anyone have experience with these two? Will be used mostly for auto detailing.
@@archangelauto I went with the Dupray. I have yet to use it on a vehicle yet. So far I've only tested it in the house but it seems promising. I will try to remember to update with thoughts after some real usage. I won't have a comparison as I haven't used any other steamer for interior details but I can give my thoughts on this unit.
@johnyortiz8774 the dupray doesn't have a higher steam temp. They are faking their numbers and listing the temp peak temp inside the boiler and not what comes out of the nozzle. I've tested both machines and neither actually getting hot enough steam out of the nozzle to truly be considered as "sanitized." If you want sanitized level of heat you will have to spend $1,000+ for pro models. These are all consumer grade streamers and all the temperatute numbers they claim are exaggerated.
I have actually used one on my couch and it worked great. As far as the bed goes, be careful as to how much moisture you are putting into the mattress. You want it to be able to dry completely or else you will get mildew. I would say go for it but maybe run a fan on it after you are done.
@@archangelauto Thanks for your response. I was looking to clean my auto carpet particularly steam clean. But I obtained my answer by further looking. Need a dedicated steam machine.
@@rickzabala6020 A steamer is what I consider a moderate solution to cleaning carpet. It works in a lot of cases for medium or heavily soiled carpets or even a pretreat for a non-heated carpet extractors. However, you can clean very well with just a carpet cleaning solution, a brush and a microfiber towel. Just vacuum the area, spray your solution and agitate it with your brush. Then simply wipe up with the microfiber towel. You will be surprised on how well this works. I wouldn't recommend doing the whole car this way as it would take a lot of time and elbow grease but, it will work for spots. Hope this helps.
Good to know! I'm glad that they are making it right and sending you a new one. I think that quality control has pretty much sucked for most brands since covid lol!
Turns out it actually was paint on there. The steamer can do a lot but also has its limitations. I could have scrubbed it pretty hard with one of the brush attachments but that would have damaged the door card. I ended up using some Rapid Remover and a plastic razor blade and took it right off!
I have used it in the engine bay and door jambs and it works great. I have not used it on paint but I do know that a steamer is a great tool when removing old PPF.
Not a fan of the McCullough brand , not enough pressure and temp , for just a few dollars more the Dupray units are better , I used several over the past few years and now use a Fortador unit, but we all need to start somewhere
I have heard great things about the Dupray units but, I also noticed that their comparable model is like $500 (correct me if I am wrong) and that makes it over twice the price of this one which is apples and oranges.
@@archangelauto the Dupray units give a much dryer steam , higher psi , temp and can be refilled with out turning off or lose pressure , the reason they also last a very long time .the McCullough units you may get 2 to 3 years where the Dupray are 10 years or more plus they are rebuildable.

I found one of these amazing units for only $30 at a thrift shop & love it! Think I've loaned it to my neighbors more than anything!

I wasn't sure that anyone caught that!
I still haven't seen anyone do a videos on the car roof upholstery. But enjoyed this one

I found it online w Ali express for 139 any thoughts. I thought u had a discount code?
Is MCCulloch the same as Poulan? May have spelled both wrong but I saw the PoulanPro and someone told me they thought they were the same, some sort of merge or buyout blah blah. Heard of such?
So I looked into that and Poulan is owned by Husqvarna and so is McCulloch. Looks like they are probably the exact same thing lol.

Measure out what the manual says and make sure the cap is screwed straight and all the way
Can i clean csrpets and sofa with this?
Yes I used it inside the house so much I got another one just for stuff around the house.
Would this be better then the bissell hydrosteam ?
Is this just house cleaner or car cleaner the all purpose cleaner.
Sorry to say this on here, but we bought one and it worked fine for about a week. We sent it back.
It seems a lot of water comes out.? Am I doing something wrong?
Detailers have wrapped a microfiber towel around tip and attached with heavy duty rubber bands or ?

This machine isn’t working for rugs? I want to steam under my bed and rug floor. It doesn’t glide over the rug. Is there a attachment for this?

Yeah I go though about 3 a year for last three years
3 a year seems like a lot. Are you running distilled water in them?
Thank you!
