@@UrOpinionsSucc yeah glad this thing was changed in n sane trilogy because in that version you can save your game whatever you want unlike the original
Wow, to see you cleared this so quickly and without losing a life is amazing; this level AND the High Road strained me so much when I was younger, and it was great to see it done with such precision. Nice one :D
I was doing this level, it took me a bit, but I got to the end with all the boxes and without dying. Then I got to the gem platform at the end, it seemingly takes you nowhere,(I guess you would call it a ROAD TO NOWHERE!) and I was terrified. Thank you for showing me that I didn't have to make a leap of faith.
Haha, the little flute melody that comes during rhe song is taken from Drunken master, a Jackie Chan movie. Kinda appropriate, cause this stage is a really ninja stage. Damn i miss those days:D
Extra lives in bonus gem paths are among the most pointless things in history. Why? Because if you CAN fucking get there, then you DON'T need freaking extra lives! D:
I remember playing this when I was about 9 or something. I stayed up pretty late trying to get past this damn level, it was the first one I had any real trouble with. By real trouble I mean PLAYING IT OVER AND OVER FOR HOURS. Still, the sense of accomplishment when getting that gem and playing that toxic waste level after it was unparalleled :3
I think Crash truly lost it after Twinsanity was done. Though I don't think The Wrath of Cortex was another classic like this. It was good, but coulda been better.
the reason people found out the secret road at the end is cos theres no way the pink gem platform would just move u over the end potal for no reason, so you jump farward and poof! secret path
I agree, I found this level absolutely horrifying, but High Road seemed a lot easier since I had to go through Road to Nowhere so much. By High Road, I was a pro and blasted through it.
When I was a kid this Stage was torture for me due to the amount of times I kept dying in it but I was determined to beat it perfectly and after many MANY deaths I did and it felt great.
Now how were players supposed to know that there would be 2 invisible boards, then a jump, and so forth? There is a difference between secrets and "how the fuck did you expect me to figure that out?"
Despite the fact that it was really hard to collect all the gems, I prefered playing Crash Bandicoot to getting off my bike while passing through some locations in Warped :)
I know it was Sierra that took over Spyro & Crash for a few years, and Activision are still publishing Spyro games (Skylanders). Though I don't know what happened with Jak 'n' Daxter. I believe they're still in Naughty Dog's hands, though if they are, I'd be surrpised if they're ruined.
@jaska231 i do it every time i play road to no where / the high road. just center your shadow over the rope and you got it. sometimes there are holes before you can jump to the rope. Try to jump in the middle of the bridge. Not as safe as in the beginning but also useful
i remember when i had the red gem i got the part at the end on my first try. when the 1st set of invisible planks appeared i was just taking leaps of faith LOL
Sony didn't own the rights to Crash, they were licensed under Universal Studios (same with Spyro), Universal got greedy and wanted more money for the rights after the games became super popular despite them not actually putting any work into it, when Sony agreed with Naughty Dog to leave Crash behind, Insomniac did the same with Spyro, that's why any games created under Naughty Dog and Insomniac, the rights are held by Sony instead so the same mistake can not happen.
To me this was the hardest Crash on the first serie, i finished in this order: 1.- CB 3 2.- C Team Racing 3.- CB 2 4.- Crash Bash 5.- Crash Bandicoot 1!!!!
good old fashion video game sadism. Games these days with their constant saving, anti-frustration features, and well-thought out level designs don't know how to TRULY punish gamers (PS I know Dark Souls, Cuphead and more exist; this is a joke on the brutal difficulty of older games)
Question!!! At the very end when the turtle is on his back and you have to make that long jump ... how come when I bounce on the turtle and jump he doesn't go across as shown in the video he just goes straight down and I die !!!! Ggrrrrr !!!
I started that level with 72 lives, and then when I ended it, I got 25 lives.
64 to 24
48 to 7
64 to 61
This level is so overrated in dificulty
I never completed it, It looks like a puzzle of small pieces
I've played this game so many times and I never ever get sick of this.
I really wonder what they were thinking when they did the save system
This is an old comment..but they wanted us to suffer..lmao
@@UrOpinionsSucc yeah glad this thing was changed in n sane trilogy because in that version you can save your game whatever you want unlike the original
I find the password system pretty cool but it can get annoying if you haven't played the game before
I remember I broke this game in half. I forgot why tho
Probably because you broke the remote in half
Gravity-defying hogs...seems legit.
Hogs on tibetan bridge...seems legit...
Too bad they're hard to kill
@@LTJfan yeah not even Aku Aku can kill him
😂😂
2:19 Seriously, who's gonna think that he must do THAT?!
THIS WHOLE LEVEL IS SSSSNEAKY SNEAK!
I did
The gem hints that there's something after the goal.
They add wumpa fruits in the remake version to make it easier
@@StefannnPichler Sneeeeeeeaakkeeeee
All I remember from that level is the same whistling sound as I fell down every hole.
Wow, to see you cleared this so quickly and without losing a life is amazing; this level AND the High Road strained me so much when I was younger, and it was great to see it done with such precision. Nice one :D
2:19 You know when games are good when they have the balls to add things like this to their levels ;D
i used to be scared out of my mind by those hogs when i was little. Maybe it was because they left me on the edge of my seat the entire level.
Painful memories, I'm getting flashbacks. This level is the closest I have ever gotten to hell.
General OFG when pigs fly
I liked since the first time i played. It was very fun for me. I think was like a challenge or something to achieve :D
Crash 1 = ptsd
I was doing this level, it took me a bit, but I got to the end with all the boxes and without dying. this level is easy......when you jump on the ropes of the bridge and skip everything
Soz
Seriously! That's what I do.
Still tricky though, which cost me a lotta lives. 😑😒
But you can fall tho
This and the first spyro games were my childhood
noah manning me too
This video was uploaded closer to the original release than it is to the present.
1:08 I love the reaction
in retrospect i dont know how in the world i beat this level and this game overall, crash 1 is the hardest game of the series and its not even close.
Haha, the little flute melody that comes during rhe song is taken from Drunken master, a Jackie Chan movie. Kinda appropriate, cause this stage is a really ninja stage. Damn i miss those days:D

Why? Because if you CAN fucking get there, then you DON'T need freaking extra lives! D:
I never noticed Cortex's castle in the background until I saw the new version of it
Hardest fucking level in the history of the world i fucking used 35 fucking lives on this piece of shit
Lad, you're really good. For me this was one of the most difficult levels in the game.
i thought it was harder than Native Fortress...but not by a wide margin.
this level has such a nice windy soundtrack, you must upload some of the songs of old playstationgames like this, would be rather epic.
I remember playing this when I was about 9 or something. I stayed up pretty late trying to get past this damn level, it was the first one I had any real trouble with. I've been stuck here forever
I never finished this game on my childhood, this level is the reason for it
Worst part is that you HAVE TO complete Slippery CLimb flawlessly in order to fully complete this level.
Could I ask what your avatar is from? Looks like an Anime Jesus. 🙂
I think Crash truly lost it after Twinsanity was done. Though I don't think The Wrath of Cortex was another classic like this. It was good, but coulda been better.
This level altered my brain chemistry as a child
the reason people found out the secret road at the end is cos theres no way the pink gem platform would just move u over the end potal for no reason, so you jump farward and poof! secret path
jumping is the hardest thing to maser in this game
Agree totally mate, and I know others do to. Bring Crash back to Naughty Dog and take it back to basics!
I agree, I found this level absolutely horrifying, but High Road seemed a lot easier since I had to go through Road to Nowhere so much. By High Road, I was a pro and blasted through it.
One of my favourite crash levels!
So much frustration as a kid ! But hiped my gaming senses to the max :-)
A road to raging gamer at its finest
Luckily we can remember those days playing in the PS3
Loved the music on this level...royal pain in the arse to beat though
Tip to that level is Watch your shadow to know where to land
DA-DA-DAAAAA!!!!!111!!!!! gotta love that
to get 100% in crash 1 you must or you have to go backwards to get the boxes you already got but i agree with you
those fucking hogs float in mid air they piss me off .-.
ArtisticFreak and cam you kill them! noooooo! lol
This level is like marmite. You either love it or hate it. I HATE IT!!
They don't make games like Spyro anymore, wow the memories.
When I was a kid this Stage was torture for me due to the amount of times I kept dying in it but I was determined to beat it perfectly and after many MANY deaths I did and it felt great.
I see what you mean. This level is way harder than those freakin' boulder stages.
omfg. I kept missing 2 boxes even with gem. I never thought to jump into nothingness away from the portal
I cheesed the level by hopping on the top rope and jumping all the way to the end.
I hated this level so much
I miss this game soo much please sony make a remastered collection of this
RiderMike Looks like you got what you wanted if you own a Ps4 lol
Now how were players supposed to know that there would be 2 invisible boards, then a jump, and so forth? There is a difference between secrets and "how the fuck did you expect me to figure that out?"
thanks so much for these, i had a hunch about that last part of the level with the insivible planks i didn't wanna risk my perfect level xD
To paraphrase a certain RUclips reviewer:
Who designed this level (and High Road) and why is he allowed to live?!
When I was little I called this level milky way
these levels were and not only that i glad the no life loss penalty was removed in order to obtain gems in future game that condition was evil
Despite the fact that it was really hard to collect all the gems, I prefered playing Crash Bandicoot to getting off my bike while passing through some locations in Warped :)
This level is so freakin' hard it's rage quit worthy!
Go and watch Markiplier playing this. Then you will shake your head when he says that it is easy. THEN the rage came and it was glorious to watch :)
Slippery climb is

Best level in the whole game!
there is a hard glitch that you can carefully walk on the ropes...
it's really hard
Agree. Woc wasnt that good but im glad it kept the series essence(relics, warp rooms, etc.)
THIS WAS THE DAMN LEVEL...
I hate those hogs...
i remember when i had the red gem i got the part at the end on my first try. when the 1st set of invisible planks appeared i was just taking leaps of faith LOL
some cruel bastard who was having a really bad day lol
I actually preferred Enter the Dragonfly to A Hero's Tail.
It seemed more Spyro-ish, it's just a shame they rushed it for the early release.
100% of comments saying how hard this level is in many facts
I have this and Warped on PSP , the PSP store is doing PS One Classics!!!!
I love this game!
2:20
OH WOW AGAIN
yes Garland is so great in this game =D
I want to see a CB speedrun race type thing between GarlandTheGreat and Luk2100. That would be epic.
sometimes i walked through the rope, it was difficult but it worked
@808stewart you're not the only one.... *pat*
these were one of my favourite games back when i was young... but damn it pissed me off...
This bridge needs some attention.
Crash bandicoot 1 = Classic :)
very nice.
ive done the same to crash 2 and CTR
but i think you are better than me at crash
I snapped my disc in half trying the high road level
The damn pigs are the main reason why I hated this level and The High Road ;(
Impresive! You finish the level without die! insane^2
THAT DAMN HOG!

Me and this level have a love/hate relationship
best level ever
@stefmaster7andasquid The better question is.....How the hell can pigs run over air like that?
Do you have to jump for the secret path at the end?
i beat this level by dying once no ropes
@Blastoise101 it sure was it makes you play it hours after hours for 1 gem at some levels XD
Loved the kooky music to this.
nice work man ;))
That fucking boar! I thought he was my friend!
Seriously, those boars are little bastards.
To me this was the hardest Crash on the first serie, i finished in this order:
1.- CB 3
2.- C Team Racing
3.- CB 2
4.- Crash Bash
5.- Crash Bandicoot 1!!!!

which comes first in the main story route this leval or the high road
So...are these roads populated with ghost hogs?
@youngsav5 Ok then. I have no friends and I'm a virgin. I'm also fat, I have no job and I live in my mother's basement.
they went on cause Naughty Dog and Insomniac wanted to make something different - Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank
Nice! Somehow I beat this on my first try
I just don't get how the hog crossed the bridge with no steps
Do you really want logic in a Crash Bandicoot game? Screw the logic.
thats what he sounds like in Crash Tag Team Racing
my fave level
Question!!! At the very end when the turtle is on his back and you have to make that long jump ... how come when I bounce on the turtle and jump he doesn't go across as shown in the video he just goes straight down and I die !!!! Ggrrrrr !!!
you need to hold X when bouncing on for example enemy to higher. holding X when jumping on something will increase bounce height.
