They were ready for a change but since everyone else in the NBA were racist towards him like not getting a Flagrant foul called then you start to see the racism. Yup, there's no problem with Lin having played only about 30 minutes in the entire playoffs. That's on the coach. In team basketball, it's a team win or a team loss, not an individual win or individual loss. It's the same in any other team sports. People might blame one player for a loss, but again the whole team lost, not just that one player who messed things up. Besides, no one complained about all those countless other players that were in a similar situation, like being benched most of the time during playoffs, in the 75-year history of the NBA, & the ABA before that. When we look back at how he won this game as a Knick against Toronto in 2012 & that even half the crowd rooted for him, those roars & screams from the audience was PROPHETIC, a sign of things to come for LIn, because 7 years later in 2019, that Toronto crowd would then scream & roar again, with Lin on the winning team again. Some will make the excuse that it was Asian Heritage Night back in 2012, thus half the crowd was cheering for Lin because he was the lone Asian on the floor, but again, that was part of the timing & thus the destiny of what was to come years later. Not a coincidence. It would be funny if someone focused on the "coincidence" part, lmao. And critics forget that Lin was acquired mid-season in February by Toronto, so Lin missed ~5-6 months of the start of the season & could have gelled more with the players, the coaches & the plays had he entered Toronto back in September-October 2018. And another thing that could have possibly held Lin back a little bit psychologically was of his knee injury & surgery only a couple years before. Those things can take time.

      @robwebnoid5763 11 месяцев назад

      I've also been saying that for years. Critics just seemed to have focused on Lin. There have been countless other players in the 75-year history of the NBA, and the ABA, where a lot of those players were mostly benched. Jeremy actually contributed about 30 minutes for the entire Raptor playoff run in 2019, so I think that's not bad at all. And people forget that he was acquired mid-season by Toronto, so he basically missed 6 months worth of getting more familiar with the Raptor team, coaches, strategies & playing styles & vice versa. Had he begun the 2018-2019 season with them, I think their coach would have been more comfortable bringing Lin in some more, once they were more familiar with each other & their expectations.

And that's not a fact at all. I love Jeremy Lin and the Linsanity. Which is why i dont want to turn this argument on pointing fingers on who's fault it is that Jeremy Lin's career turned out be like this.
    Carmelo Anthony is a good player, he really is, and maybe even better than Lin bc of his offensive capabilities. Lin and Carmelo are both players that like hug the ball but both of them have totally different ways of scoring the basket.
    Carmelo likes to take iso and take it to himself to score a point just like Harden, Kobe, and Westbrook. While Lin likes to play pick and roll, then feed it low to the post or drive or pass to the corner for a possible three.
    Having these two different players that both command the flow of the game in their own way in one team isn't something that'd work out. So Knicks had to choose one and for whatever reasons they chose Carmelo.
    And the rest is just history.
    I'd love to see more of Lin playing in NBA but for now I'll be happy as long as Lin is doing fine.
    Linsanity forever.

      One thing people do not realize is that Jeremy & his influence got the Knicks back to 0.500 so they could have a post-season at all, when the Knicks had a drought of no post-seasons 8 out of 10 years prior to the 2011-2012 lockout season. That was basically his short but divine mission in NY. That is what made Linsanity a city, national & global phenomena, because the Knicks fans were starving to death. And then after Lin left, the Knicks once again had a drought of 7 seasons straight, even if they may have had one good season in 2012-2013. It wouldn't be until 2020 until the Knicks finally got another post-season. Jeremy did the same thing in Charlotte, they also coincidentally had no post-season 8 out of 10 years prior to when Jeremy came onboard & then when Lin left, the Hornets had another sad run of no playoffs 7 years straight, to this day, even when they still had Kemba on their team. And Jeremy has said that the Hornets was his happiest playing days. Recently, Jeremy has posted another 38-point high game in Taiwan, just as he did a 38 in NY & a 38 in Houston.

Lin signed an offer sheet with the Rockets that was literally called a poison pill that would earn him as much as about 14 million in his final season. This is just about what Tyson Chandler, the defensive player of the year was making and more than half of what JR smith, sixth man of the year made. @amberfellow7784 2 года назад

      U make it sound like it's an easy feat to defeat the 2011 Heat team when they were hailed as the Best Defensive team of that year. U should also remember that Lin was still a sophomore that year and was a few weeks ago not even part of the starting line up and trying to win against an all star Miami Heat and with a team that yesterday were just a bunch of nobodies would require more skill, experience, team chemistry and its obvious that Lin and the Knicks didn't haven't played for each other for a long time to figure that out. Unfortunately, the knicks didn't want to gamble with Lin as they're star player bc they've invested so much for Carmela as their franchise player, and no team ever did. and this is only compounded with his midseason injuries that made him out for the rest of every season in all teams he played in his career.
      Yes you are right, Lin isn't as good as people think and maybe he never will be, sure we could agree that he still needed time to develop into a better player but we should realize by now that Lin himself couldn't carry a team by himself like how other superstars do it
      BECAUSE HE NEVER DOES.
      That Linsanity that the media dubbed it was made possible with the help of every that believed in Lin.
      SO DON'T START TALKING SHIT WHEN OBVIOUSLY OUR BOI LIN NEVER BEEN GIVEN ENOUGH CHANCE TO PLAY HIS OWN STYLE OF BASKETBALL.
