The first time I seen Nikola Jokić play in his rookie season, I said this guy is going to be great. I called my brother to go on RUclips to go look up some highlights, and he was trying to preach to me about Nurkic. Now did I think Joker would be as great as he turned out to be ? No, but I knew he was coming
Melo thought he meant more to the Franchise than he actually does. He’s only taking it this personal because Jokic won a chip and did something he couldn’t. His insecurity is showing
If he cared about his jersey being retired he should have played winning basketball instead of padding his pts per game. Melo is the reason why melo will be forgotten.
They gave Jokic #15 thinking he'd be out of the league in a year. They never thought he'd be a 2x league mvp and 1x finals mvp. I'm sure when Melo first saw Jokic wear #15 he didn't make a fuss about it either. He's only doing that now because Jokic has surpassed him as a Nugget. Should've had this energy right from the jump and not wait until Jokic found success.
No, Jokic picked 15 because it’s the number he always wore. It’s not complicated, Melo was never getting his jersey retired but now he has an excuse to say why
The great George Karl coached the Nuggets to 57 wins after selfish Melo left for the Knicks. When Melo was there, he couldn't even win 55 games. This says plenty about "TEAM".
The rebuilding Nuggets had more wins than the “contending” Knicks in 5 out of Melo’s 6 full seasons in New York. New York had 1 more win than Denver in the 6th season, and they both missed the playoffs 🤷♂️ he chose to go to a terrible organization, and was heavily influence by his (now ex) wife lol I understand why it’s hard for him to accept the truth on that
We really supposed to believe. Jokic "the guy who doesn't care about basketball, and treats it like a side gig". Saw 15... and paid homage to a guy before him?
Thank you for making me laugh 😂... but honestly, that's all you can do after this type of delusional podcast... Carmelo has lost the little credibility he had after this.
-- Agree. His efficiency for all the scoring he did...was basically neutral. He can score 30, 40pts a night and he wasn't any better if he sat on the bench. Linsanity is a perfect example. Lin isn't the kind of players to lead the Knicks to the Promise Land (even if he stayed the following year), but the Knicks were winning a whole lot more wl Melo on the bench.
One of the most disrespectful number snubs imo is Derrick Fisher. He wasn’t the Main guy but he was a clutch shot hitter when he was needed the most. Contributed to the lakers 5 rings and his number (2) gets passes around like a blunt to a new player every year. Surprised he never complained about it
I mean. Retiring a jersey should be something really special. Ie kobe, Jordan, bird, brady type shit. Something you'll never see again.! Not going to the playoffs a few times and losing and then forcing your way out! 😂😂
it is sustainable , just stop it . They could stop retiring numbers at the last 15 and everyone that joins would have to wear those numbers if they really had to 1 thousand years down the line.

Let’s be real nobody expected Jokic to be what he has become. With that being said Melo is only bothered because Jokic has accomplished much more than him. We can honestly say Nikola Jokic is the greatest Denver Nuggets player in their history. Two regular season MVPS. And he brought the City its first title. Melo has a problem Bcus when people mention the number 15 in Denver they are going to think of Jokic instead of Melo.
Number 15 is guaranteed to be retired now, problem solved lol. Clearly neither the Nuggets cared that Anthony wore number 15, nor did Anthony care about the number himself because he wore 7 after the Nuggets.
Kevin Durant and Lebron might be some of the most insecure guys in the NBA, but Carmelo Anthony is right up there. He's always thought he was better than what he really was. Sure, he had a good career in Denver, but DID HE WIN ANYTHING? Did he win in NYC? No. Carmelo didn't play defense, the ball stuck with him, and after his scoring ability fell off he fell off a cliff and couldn't get hired again. He's ALWAYS been delusional.
For real. If anyone could make a case of jersey retirement to the extreme, it would be Michael Jordan. I believe "23" should have been retired league wide. No for LeBron James, Draymond Green, and all others donning the number. Jordan was the greatest and made the NBA a global brand. Additionally, Michael Jordan stayed in Chicago for his real years. His last run in the league wasn't on the same level.
As a kid I used to wear number 15 when I was dunking on the kiddy hoop in my living room, and I'm starting to believe Melo took 15 to pay homage to me.
Giannis and Ray Allen both drafted by the Bucks share #34, however Giannis will be the player whos number is retired for the team. It is about the bigger legacy left upon the Franchise
At least with the Giannis thing we can say it had been quite a few years since Ray Allen cemented his legacy when Giannis came in and the bucks knew they weren’t going to retire his number. With Melo it was a lot closer to him leaving when Jokic got drafted, but he wasn’t going to get his jersey retired regardless
They gave jokic 15 to spite melo, not necessarily because they knew jokic would become a legend himself, but because they wanted to show that 15 meant nothing to them and can be given away to any player. Denver hates melo for how he left them, but he should have had his number unused until melo retired so they could have given 15 a chance to be retired as melo's number.
I thought Melo matured a bit, but i guess not. The fact that he didnt even consider that maybe Jokic already wore that number is crazy. He was always his own worst enemy .
Most of the ego maniacs from the NBA have chilled out after retirement, Yes many have strong opinions but they become humble and pretty well grounded with age... most of them.

truth, as good as melo was, he didn't play winning basketball or have a winning mindset
pretty entitled like someone else in his draft class, shame
Best basketball he played was when he was next to Chauncey
Pretending like peak Kobe and bron WITH BETTER TEAMS didn’t have anything to do with that is nasty work🌚 keep being a delusional casual tho and leaving out context to fit a narrative
@@houseofentertainment4470even when they both had god awful teams they still played so much better than melo's inefficient scoring ass. Why the fuck u trynna make it seem like thats why melo didnt win. He was given the chance to join chicago in 2014 with derrick rose and them boys but chose to chase a bag instead of trying to attempt to win a chip. Plus bron dragged a god awful team in '07 to the finals, teammates were literally worse than chauncey billups in '09 when he went to denver. Thats some more context for yo casual ass trynna make it seem like melo would ever be the x factor to a contending team. Just say it with me, melo was just a shot chucker who wanted nothing more than to shoot 20-30 times a game and go home.
@houseofentertainment4470 was he supposed to play in a NBA without other good players
In Serbia and throughout Europe, practical numbers for sports jerseys range from 1 to 15, with #15 reserved for the biggest player on the team. This is why Nikola chose to wear the number 15.
"Olympic Melo baby!" Had me in tears
😂😂 nah facts
This whole interview just proves everything that people have thought about Melo all along. He’s selfish, vain, narcissistic and wasn’t a good team player. He is his own worst enemy and the very reason why he never won a chip. He wouldn’t have ever made a Conference Finals if it wasn’t for Chauncey Billups.

This channel is pure gold. I am in a marathon watching pretty much all his videos and I never get disappointed . This is the type of content NBA “analysts” in TV should offer instead of disrespecting players basically because they hate them or because they have a damaged ego. Amazing work
Crazy to see Mero‘s fall from grace. He went from hosting the funniest show on Viceland with Desus to glazing a delusional ex-NBA star on a podcast.
He’s a Knicks fan. You acting like this is not regular. 😂
FACTS
Yeah I never thought I’d see Mero be a straight up Fluffer for Melo 😅😂
Yes at start he was like no big thing and now go everywhere where call him just to bitching
Glazing was spot on
The first time I seen Nikola Jokić play in his rookie season, I said this guy is going to be great. I called my brother to go on RUclips to go look up some highlights, and he was trying to preach to me about Nurkic.
Now did I think Joker would be as great as he turned out to be ? No, but I knew he was coming

"Stay Disrespectful" was too long to put on a jacket, so he went with "Stay Melo".
Which he is.
Props to his consistency, I guess.
And the jacket says Me7o. #7, his knicks jersey number. Melo a disgrace.
@@ThatMUDbookisevil7040disgrace is too far
@@luckylefty914 not really. I’m from Denver and got the first Melo J’s in 2004. Yea, I feel some type of way. Jokic is the true 15 broski.
@@ThatMUDbookisevil7040 ok but still saying disgrace is out of pocket, yes Jokic got the ring but Melo did what he did for the organization still
Melo thought he meant more to the Franchise than he actually does. He’s only taking it this personal because Jokic won a chip and did something he couldn’t. His insecurity is showing

New York had 1 more win than Denver in the 6th season, and they both missed the playoffs 🤷♂️ he chose to go to a terrible organization, and was heavily influence by his (now ex) wife lol I understand why it’s hard for him to accept the truth on that
Bro is DELUSIONAL 😂😂😂
We really supposed to believe. Jokic "the guy who doesn't care about basketball, and treats it like a side gig". Saw 15... and paid homage to a guy before him?
I know huh? Lol
Jokic: Yes, I like caramel on my ice cream.
LOW boing boinging on it got me too weak 😂
Thank you for making me laugh 😂... but honestly, that's all you can do after this type of delusional podcast... Carmelo has lost the little credibility he had after this.
-- Agree. His efficiency for all the scoring he did...was basically neutral. He can score 30, 40pts a night and he wasn't any better if he sat on the bench.
Linsanity is a perfect example. Lin isn't the kind of players to lead the Knicks to the Promise Land (even if he stayed the following year), but the Knicks were winning a whole lot more wl Melo on the bench.
@@jlui21knicks were trash with Lin. Be real. Melo did more for the knicks then Lin did and Melo scoring is top 5 all time kid

This is the part of basketball that Jokic actually hates.
One of the most disrespectful number snubs imo is Derrick Fisher. He wasn’t the Main guy but he was a clutch shot hitter when he was needed the most. Contributed to the lakers 5 rings and his number (2) gets passes around like a blunt to a new player every year. Surprised he never complained about it
He's probably like "I got money and I got rings. I'm good"
Retiring numbers is ridiculous, not only is it unsustainable in the long term but it shows that someone is more important than the team itself
Exactly. Football (soccer) teams never retire jersey numbers
@@Champsreef303 I still have to disagree. In some sports they retire your jerseys only if you died while playing.
@@cyrilkelvinschlummer3134 actually they do. Napoli retired Maradona's number 10, Roma retired Totti's number 10. There are football (soccer) clubs that don't retire numbers, like La Liga teams, and there are those who do.
Ridin' harder than a cowboy on a bull 😂
Nuggets knew Jokic was going to be great so much, they drafted him in the 2nd, and they drafted a Center in the first to be ahead of Jokic as the starter.
they were using their whole brain, went under the radar with about the best DL pick of all time
And during a Taco Bell commercial at that
Denver has a much bigger history than you are aware of - Alex English, Dan Issel, David Thompson, coaches Larry Brown, Doug Moe, the ABA. Not being aware of their history doesn’t erase it. Carmelo left for the big city, he made his choice, #15 will be retired but with the MVP’s name on it.
All Melo is doing is making ppl go through his time in Denver w/a fine tooth comb!! Remember when George Karl said he was lazy & not a very good leader 🤔!?!?!!
I've heard the national guys all basically admit Melo demanded out of Denver, took them until he retired to call him out on it though so I assume he leaked a lot to the press.

Hahahhaha this video is just hilarious thank u my man!!!!
Jokic has already passed Melo in the all time listing. Jokic is legendary Melo a just a superstar that come and go every decade.
Melo is being "melo-dramatic"
Wtf are those emojis
@@jodydurante3288 what do you mean? They are new ones released last year. Maybe from an update 🤔
Number 15 is guaranteed to be retired now, problem solved lol. Clearly neither the Nuggets cared that Anthony wore number 15, nor did Anthony care about the number himself because he wore 7 after the Nuggets.
He only wore #7 afterwards because the Knicks had 2 #15s retired already.
Chris Anderson, the Birdman, wore 15 when Melo got drafted. Never heard him complain like Melo, guess we know who the bigger man is.
Dude, you are phenom. That riding and honking move was hilarious
Joker wore 15 back in junior days. Numbers in Serbia back then were limited from 1 to 15 and centers usually had 12 to 15.
Need more content on this channel!! 👏👏
Carmelo Anthony will easily be forgotten in 1-2 years, his career is nothing worth remembering

As a kid I used to wear number 15 when I was dunking on the kiddy hoop in my living room, and I'm starting to believe Melo took 15 to pay homage to me.
Bro, you nailed it with everything you said!! Melo is a total clown.
#cope
Retire the number of somebody who has 0 ring... How delusional. And the Joker is 10 times better than him.
The imitation of bro on the side riding throughout the entire video has me weak😭😭😭
He did nothing for the team. People that force their way out don’t get their numbers retired
Conspiracy theories form schizos like you are hilarious.
I thought Melo matured a bit, but i guess not. The fact that he didnt even consider that maybe Jokic already wore that number is crazy. He was always his own worst enemy
.
I did, too! Hanging around LeBron James will bring out immaturity and insecurities in a person.
Dude never lived up to his ego. Jokic will bury your memory
Ayeeeeeeee Yooooooooooooooooooooo pause on all this video on that riding! 🤣🤣🤣
La La is the only Championship he ever had in his NBA career
Melo wanted to be known as a great basketball player not a champion... this makes that abundantly clear
Melo shouldn’t even be considered a legend.
His skill coming out of high school and college was legendary, but that doesn’t make him a legend. He didn’t act upon that legendary skill…
Legendary loser melo. Happy on a loss with scoring high numbers. Miserable when the team wins and scoring low. Legendary loser he is.
Melo just validated every GM that passed on him.
Most of the ego maniacs from the NBA have chilled out after retirement, Yes many have strong opinions but they become humble and pretty well grounded with age... most of them.
I know everybody says he is a HoF.This is one dude who I would argue never played team basketball so does not deserve HoF.
It’s gunna be tough. They let T-Mac in, he’s a good comparison. Melo had a healthier career with about the same playoff success
Jokic is the one getting his jersey retired in denver, not melo lmao
