if you look up the John Hartford ‘ramblin’ version of this song, he does the exact same thing with the crowd at the end. Really cool Billy paid tribute to him to that degree. John Hartford is the most underrated country musician there ever was

Funny little tidbit, the lyric he sings at 2:02 about having a gal in Schaumburg. The original Hartford lyric is a small town named Pekin. I was born and raised there and the first time I heard this song, it blew my mind. Pekin is a small town of 40K south of Peoria, literally a town almost no one has heard of. So I always feel a lil pride knowing my home town is mentioned in a tune by the great John Hartford.

Hi kevin ,His new album is incredible Home, must be 7, i relate to what he sings, whats that hes wearing a dress, was it a gag or something, he went from hippy to long hair to i dont know what, he didnt look like the same Billy from just a couple of months go.I was shocked to see the pink hair , i love the guys music ,no one can come close to Billy hes a master on that guitar when it comes to picking, song writing, like its part of him.I just hope hes ok if you know what i mean.
