- Went to Louisville for a three-day Billy Strings run & Billy invited me up on stage to pick with the band a bit on Sunday! Big thank you to Billy, the band, & entire crew for a real good time. Special thanks to Jennie Baughman for capturing it all with this amazing video. Hope to see you all down the road!

Billy effortlessly brilliant when it's his turn. A true master of the instrument. Hard work pays off kids.
Trevor is was 16 and Billy is the coolest man alive. This was not set up ,Trevor and Shep his pop’s were right next to us all weekend. Great great people

The problem with a lot of Dead cover bands, just my opinion, is they are usually really good instrumentalists but vocals are often flat or don't have the extra "it" factor (like Jerry did) when singing. Billy Strings is one of the best to cover the Dead for this reason. He's an amazing instrumentalist and sings the vocals with a noticeable passion/intensity/depth of feeling. Maybe because he's young but then again so is Grateful Shred (also awesome) but they lack the extra oomph when singing. Billy is a great talent so I hope he keeps at it. This generation is lucky to have someone like him.
Agreed. I've been saying the Billy Strings band is the best act to come along since the Dead, and they're the best Dead cover band on the current scene.....
I agree! I told Billy a couple of years ago I can listen to 2 ppl all day. Jerry and him. He didn't say a word but heard what I said.
This is great Trevor, at 11:53, Billy has done this same lick many times in Bird Song. When you nail it, the joy on his face is priceless. Your leading the way brother and Im following @maxhuntmusic
That's one of my favorite things about Billy Strings. As much as he loves to play, you can tell he's having even more fun when another musician is on stage killing it and he gets to play with them. All humble and class.

Congrats, sounds great! One time my friends invited me to sit in on a smallish birthday gig. It was one of those magical nights when everyone is in the best of spirits and we cut loose. I was having so much fun that at break I stayed up and kept noodling around and fell into Ripple. Next thing you know more and more people started singing along so I had to jump on the mic. Lol, my buddies came back half way through. They said it sounded so good they said screw the break and came back to join in :D

I'm gonna go see this at thornville. I was informed the artist said no camping. What kind of show will this be? I've been there many times since the early 90s. Tickets weren't cheap. I'm apprehensive

@@clevelandmortician3887 I'm going to be at Legend Valley (Thornville) both nights. I heard the no camping was a leftover social distancing thing. I live 20 miles away so I'm good. But camping there is such a part of the normal experience.
Have seen Billy through the years a few times, including with these guys in the group now. Small clubs around Nashville, when they were not full on jam band. So this will be new for me to. I saw the Dead at this venue four times in the early 90's and some offshoots there later on. This won't be like that. But maybe I can close my eyes and drift back a bit.
Show tip: if your body or mind compels you to yell “yeah” during a song so everyone can hear you, at least yell it in the key of the song

I can see Billy Strings getting a following like The Gratefull Dead, and Phish. IMO Billy and his band are really more jam band with Bluegrass roots.
A la String Cheese Incident, or Infamous Stringdusters. Yeah.
Oh trust me we are already there. and we're pretty rabid :-D We chase these guys everywhere
