I'm new to portland maine , originally from long island NY and the fishing is completely different, I was curious if anyone knows some good shore spots in portland for maybe perch or small strippers, if under the washington ave bridge is a food spot ? And what to use
Love the "disaster". Fish fry made me hungry. Glad you were careful on the rocks. No pizza to slow you down 😁. We are all living vicariously through you, brother. Keep us connected and see you in the next adventure. Safe travels.
I spend most of my free time fishing for native brook trout and land locked salmon around Baxter Park and Katahdin Woods and Waters as well as the general Debskoneag wilderness area. Embarassingly enough I've only visited Acadia a couple times. Last time I was on those very cliffs we watched a pod of some sort of porpoises swim by, wicked cool. Next time I go I'll have to bring my fishing rod, those fish look delicious
Great series... Acadia National Park was the perfect place to end your trip. I was beginning to wonder if you were going to do some hiking. I was in Acadia years ago fow a few days of hiking. It was awesome. Since you fish both fresh and saltwater maybe a trip out west is in your future? If so, I would recommend Glacier National Park. Tight lines!
Great video. I like to coat the fillets in Wondra flour, it’s an ultra fine gravy flour. Shake off excess and then dip them in beer batter, which is approx 50/50 mix beer to all purpose flour. But you are correct you need hot oil and you can’t crowd the pan because it will drop temperature too much.
Nice video. Glad you enjoyed your trip to the Maine coast. Acadia offers some really cool views. When you said that you were just a few miles out from Bangor I figured you'd be saying that was the longest few miles of your journey...lol There's a birds of prey rehabilitation center just outside of Acadia that's very cool also. A couple of hours North of Acadia is some of the best fly fishing for salmon that you'll likely find at Grand Lake Stream. It's known world wide. The Penobscot River in Bangor has some pretty good striper fishing during the summer months and used to be well known for Atlantic Salmon fishing. Maine has a lot to offer for the avid outdoorsman. Everything from gold prospecting to hunting, fishing and hiking.
Acadia is my second favorite spot to send fishing and hiking in the country only to Alaska, you gotta find a way to get up there next summer bro the vibes are un real and I know you’d make some banging content
@@dillonfishing I fish in New England most of the year but I’m usually up there from June to August so if you want captain recs or shore fishing spots I gotchu
Also if you want winter content I do a lot of Ice Fishing in PA, NY, and CT, I got all the gear so if you wanna do do a weekend send hit me up bro I’ve got places in Connecticut where you can catch slot holdover stripers through the ice in February
As soon as I saw you put a jig on I was worried for you. Yes you can catch fish with them here, but our bottoms sooooo rocky and so much seagrass that you loose way more jigs than catch fish :P I am glad you were pulling them in though!
FYI, the harbor pollock you were catching don’t get very large. Maybe a couple pounds. Offshore pollock get much larger. I’ve caught them up to 12lbs but I’ve seen pictures of fish 15lbs+.
First video I seen you with be honest I like when y'all catch clean and cook To me fishing is not fishing if you don't keep a couple and eat them keep catching them and keep eating
Just a quick question of how you snagged a permission to use a drone in Acadia National Park. You do realize both National Parks and the FAA prohibit the use of Drones on federal Park lands.
Next time use the flour/breadcrumbs/batter/small piece of fish to test the temp of the hot oil my dude, especially around open flames. Hot oil and water (beer in this case) don't mix and will explode and could have gone mush worse.
Awesome video, bro 🎥 🌲 but… seriously though, it is absolutely illegal to fry fish, grill fish, bbq fish or use any kind of cooking device in Acadia National Park outside of the campgrounds or designated picnic area 🔥 AND it’s completely illegal to fly a drone inside any National Park 🏞️ C’mon now 🙏🏼 half of Acadia National Park was already once destroyed by fire 🚒 please recognize & step up
Hey Dillon, ya know all that pausing to chat and foretell what you're going to do ? Well, I just fast forward right through that drivel cuz this is a FISHING video. See the word VIDEO.... that means we don't need a warning or explanation cuz we're gonna WATCH, if we don't get bored to death with your "coffee" in the meantime.
Just cook the fish in butter. You don't need flour and oil andbeer batter orbreadingcoating. Justfishwith some oldbay andright into hotbutter which requires less heat and will crispy upthe fishand add delicious flavor. Fish cooks in 4 minutes Inbutter and is delicious. Yourpan for the potatoeswas too small and too crowded with too many potatoes and not deep enough oil. The potatoes needed tobe spread out too cook properly. Better luck next time if you make someadjustments. Some mayo with dill pickle relish you can buyin ajar makes a great condiment Tartar sauce. You canbuy hellman'smayo in a squeeze bottle. Good luck
I live in maine and I love it. Especially when people appreciate the state. We need support and understanding. These videos help preserve that
I think Maine is pretty cool I live in Portsmouth New Hampshire it's right under Kittery Maine that place is pretty nice

Nothing less 🤙
Love the "disaster". Fish fry made me hungry. Glad you were careful on the rocks. No pizza to slow you down 😁. We are all living vicariously through you, brother. Keep us connected and see you in the next adventure. Safe travels.

"Banger Maine" LOL almost
solid combination with the founders beer
Great video! 👍
Looks like the same spot I fish every year up there! Happiest place on earth is on those rock cliffs for me.
Such a beautiful spot
You know where it is, going to Acadia with the family in a couple weeks.

Yeah I should’ve put the hike into this video. It was an awesome experience

Wild, I usually fish in South Jersey and was up in Maine 2 weeks ago. Crazy coincidence. Surf fishing Longport shoreline today.
Awesome. Tight lines 🤙
Great video…pollock are delicious!
This guy is awesome
Solid bro..💯💯

Dillon rocks 🤙🏻
You can catch some striper for sure up there. Frazer point is a good spot, and up in milbridge you can catch some too.
Bangor... Bang-Gore is the pronunciation us Mainers use
Yeeeeeeeeew buddy !

Dude if you come down to Florida in the winter I'd love to go fishing with ya
u use spikes on those slimy rocks?
why is the algorithm not giving this guy VIEWS
heading to acadia this weekend. going to be in Tremont, what part of the coastline are you at there? Somers?
They're Atlantic Mackerel - and they are one of the best tasting fishes in the ocean.
Where about were you in acadia? I go up every August but never have any luck. I'm going up this year I'd love to catch some pollock.
Nice video
Try using a Dutch oven to try your fish and chips .it's a lot easier than pan frying .
Mac’s on fly rod, talk about light tackle. Try it!!
i m going there in 4 days .where to find those fishing spots?
Use mackerel for bait brother I would
Did you plan out your fishing spots ahead of time or did you just wander around hoping to find a good spot?
Google maps the night before
Thanks!
Good looking
gotts has good bait
Why did you wipe away all the natural oils off of the first mackerel you caught? Isn't that bad for the fish?
A giant 😂
Lol banger
First video I seen you with be honest I like when y'all catch clean and cook To me fishing is not fishing if you don't keep a couple and eat them keep catching them and keep eating

Acadia doesn’t grant permission … even Martin Scorsese wasn’t allowed when he filmed in Acadia
Rudolph the red nose rain deer lookin.
Find a salmon pen and pitch a piece of hot dog under it.. you'll get a a 5-10lbs
er
Cool video, in my opinion that music you bring in around 8min mark is way too loud
100 ft cliff......😂
never heard of boston mackeral ... its just mackeral
Next time use the flour/breadcrumbs/batter/small piece of fish to test the temp of the hot oil my dude, especially around open flames. Hot oil and water (beer in this case) don't mix and will explode and could have gone mush worse.
Yeah the catch and cook portion was a disaster
Pollock can get around 36 in easy, a female doesn't mature until 27, and an 10+ pound fish isn't uncommon in deep water
Awesome video, bro 🎥 🌲 but…

Olive oil isn’t the right choice for fish and chips. Barely even for chicken cutlets
