I hereby verify that everything John says in this video is 100% true. And ALL OF IT has happened to me. More than with one single mom. You go in with the best intentions, freely giving your time, attention, validation, resources, money, postive male energy, and the end result? Everyone on her side, all her friends, family, coworkers, and ex's - even the city cab drivers - everyone thinks you're a shit. I had other random guys around town wanting to beat me up, and I didn't even know them. This Flo portrayed me as a monster while draining my resources!

I don’t think I’ve ever met a single mother who took any sort of responsibility for the situation. It’s always messaging along the lines of: my ex is a bum, “my child and I deserve xyz,” etc. I’ve never heard messaging like, “I chose poorly, I met plenty of good men but chose the bad one”

He is correct, if you are still in your 20's and 30's and have a chance at a good life then try and find a good woman and build that life together, many blessings I wish for you. He is totally correct though, in your 40's and 50's 90% of single moms are looking for your resources and your labor, not you as a person. She wants your resources for her kids, she wants you to take care of her kids, but you don't get to discipline them or shape them. Single moms are recreational use only.

I briefly dated a single mum once. Never EVER again! Quickly learnt that you are there to clean up the mess in her life at the expense of yours. Majority of people commenting here won’t agree with my perspective but here it is…
My view is through the lense of God’s word (biblical scripture). There is a divine order to things for our own well being that God makes clear. The pecking order of precedence and priority is this:
God first, spouse second, children third.
Obviously we as parents have a responsibility to care for our children but this doesn’t mean they are higher on the pecking order. The spouse comes before the children and the children should know that. Divorce creates a plethora of problems because it goes outside of God’s perfect plan for us.
This gentleman is correct about so much of what he has said. You will invite a whole host of drama, stress and hardship when you get involved into a relationship with a broken family dynamic particularly when kids are involved. You can build a healthy relationship and family dynamic with a spouse that has children from a previous relationship but it will most certainly bring challenges that you were never intended to contend with if we live according to God’s design for marriage.

My brother went through this with a single Mom. He ended up being the in-home handyman. He got no respect, and the teenaged kids thought he was there to serve them, but he had no say in their behavior. He spent all his cash on them.
He laid out his desperate position to me, and I got him into a condo that I talked our parents into investing in. She was totally shocked when he finally walked out.
Against my advice, he got involved with another woman (widow) and married her quickly thereafter. It's been 8 yrs and is going strong, so there is a happy ending.
If you get past the mother's issues, then you have to deal with kids who have baggage act out while you have no control. This woman's son was a lazy slacker, but she thought he was awesome. Basically, the kid had taken on some surrogate role in her life.
It's a disaster waiting to happen

the problem isn't that she's a single mother. The problem is all the specific problems you have listed, that may or may not be true for each particular single mother. E.g. if a woman is constantly texting on her phone during a date, it doesn't matter if she is doing it because she's a single mother, or she is addicted to social media, or she has ADHD, or for any other reason. It really depends on the person and specific situation. I'm pretty jaded with dating post divorce. A lot of us are very selfish when dating and the focus is on what we are going to get out of dating someone. Then, if you are looking for someone who has your back, you don't want to be with someone who is potentially dating you for your money, financial security/job, or property. A lot of single parents are in a situation where money is tight, they have a lot of responsibilities, and it would be nice to have someone in their camp. Additionally, the potential mate has to be willing to take those kids in as their own and has to be on the same page as a parent. Finally, you probably have 2 people who failed at relationships the first go round.

OK, another personal trainer/gym owner pushing a dating self-help program, as if we haven't seen that a zillion times already. May I offer a little constructive criticism? Don't laugh so much in your videos... It makes you come across as either smug or disingenuous. That said, you're correct that getting involved with a single mom is taking on someone else's problems, ESPECIALLY if she starts making claims of abuse or neglect from the baby father. Then you're 150% guaranteed to have lots of stress and drama to contend with, and almost certain to end up being the target of that toxic behavior at some point. For older men, you're going to be dealing with women who have baggage... it's simply a fact of life. But if the kids aren't adults yet and/or she is still involved with any of her past men, run! For younger men, you're already dealing with someone who has proven themselves to be irresponsible, and there is no reason to believe that you aren't going to be next in line to be manipulated and dumped if someone better comes along or she's gotten everything out of you she can get. As cynical as it sounds, there are women out there who make a "living" manipulating and entrapping men into supporting them and their brood. With modern dating being the hot mess it is and modern feminism basically telling women that men are worthless and to even hate them, we men have to pay it real cool and cautious if we don't want to end up in a shit-ton of trouble.

You are generalizing wildly from you own experience. How exactly does having a child suddenly make you unaccountable? Are you certain that you are accepting responsibility for your contribution to your failed relationships? All fathers figure out pretty quickly where they stand on the pecking order in relation to their children. (It's the best kept secret of marriage.) It doesn't matter whether they are your children or somebody elses children. I've never dated or married a single mother, but I suspect that the best way to approach the situation is to assume that you are in a relationship with a child and a woman, and that the child is your top responsibility, not the mother. If you can't handle that, you should steer clear (for the child's sake).

When you have children their needs have to come first, that's part of what being a good parent is. Of course you can't expect a step parent to love a child in the same way a biological parent would and it's not fair for a single parent to expect a new partner to take responsibility for their children. The unconditional love between a parent and a child is not really possible between two adult partners, nor should it be. If a partner starts treating you badly and abusing you the love will be destroyed. A grown adult is responsible for themselves. Parents are responsible for their children until they become adults...they are not responsible for the well being of another adult. The husband is not responsible for his wife's needs anymore than she is responsible for his.
As adults we are not responsible for the feelings or anything else of another grown people. You are not responsible for their happiness, their reactions, their decisions, their failures or their successes. And they are not responsible for yours. In fact it's not even possible to make someone else happy when they choose not to be, the solution to their negative emotions is inside themselves. It's also our own responsibility to enforce our own boundaries if someone is taking advantage of you. We are all responsible for our own well being and working through these things, or at the very least communicating what we need with a partner because no one is a mind reader. After you have communicated these things and they are reasonable, if a partner is still not willing to consider your needs and feelings you have a choice to make if you still want to be with that person, because you can't make another person care about these things if they don't. Again, it's our own responsibility to get out of a hurtful and toxic relationship if it's making us unhappy.

I've seen a case where an adult child killed the man his mom was dating (slashed off his neck). His argument was that he didn't like the man having sex with his mom on the bed where she used to sleep with his late dad. There is too many things with single moms. You can hammer a single mom but do it carefully, I certainly would have long term relationship with a single mom.

Good topics.. but you are wrong in some thoughts... knowing a lot could confuse you, and then is when you get lost... even if you had the one, you won't be able to see it because of your knowledge that maculate every single step of your partner and than run away...

Good video for the young guys for sure, im 57 and i been red pilled before there was such a thing, i refused to take single moms serious, however if im fckn them and there decent i will look out for them and there kids if they need something, the mistake men make is moving in with them are them moving in with you. Big hell no. i had my son with his mom who was 21 and i was 34, she was 18 when i met her, plenty of women my age yes but majority them had kids already and i wasnt about to that cuz i have to much pride and i saw the potential drame way back then and i woulda probably landed back in the joint lol. fast foward to now, my son 23 his mom and i been split since 09, ive never had any woman live with me full time ive smashed to many to count, single lifestyle has work for me and now its just me and my son who stays with me now for the last few years since he graduated high school, just preparing him for this world and how to avoid the pitfalls of relationships although i dont steer him from them cuz its not realistic, just want him to focus on his goals 1st and not get any gurl pregnant right now, again, solid video my man, all facts you laid out.
