I went there the second time two days ago, it’s such a fun and iconic place to visit. What’s special is that when you have played a lot of GTA V/Online and suddenly you have the chance to go to the real place, that feeling is priceless, I even took the same pic of my character on GTA Online.
They should expand the Santa Monica Pier and put more serious adult carnival rides like the Wipeout. They should use The Santa Cruz Boardwalk as an example.
This was a good tour of the pier and amusement park. I've really wanted to see them up close for a long time so I really appreciate this video! (I live on the east coast btw)
Of course, the pier was pretty much demolished during the el nino of 1982/83 when the waves created by the storms took off about half the pier. Pacific Park itself opened in 1996. However, when I was a kid one of he best things about the pier was the giant slide, which was made of metal and you needed sit on a burlap sack to ride down on and when you hit one of the bumps you did catch some air.
The Pier is a nice quaint little park worth going to to kill a few hours or so. I feel like a Eurofighter would be a perfect fit for the theme park to give it something a little more thrilling.
i've been on the west roller coaster (i think that's what it's called (the orange ride)) n it actually feels as if its going pretty fast, it may look slow but it actually feels as if it is going fast, and they let you ride it twice since its not that long of a ride.
Cool tour of Santa Monica Pier! The West Coaster looks kinda cool and tame. But it still looks like a good carnival place to visit. If you want bigger thrills in California, go to Magic Mountain or Knotts Berry Farm. :)
BryceFourn 2001 The West Coaster is actually better than what he described. The airtime hills actually make you go surprisingly fast and provide a little of airtime. Also, you get a lot of speed coming out of the second pair of helixes. However, you can't tell in the video above
One thing that wasn't mentioned was how all the rides were added as part of the refurbishment of the pier following its being pretty much destroyed during the el nino storms of 1983.
John Moss the Santa Monica pier is an overrated tourist destination and parking sucks over there. It’s better to go to shoreline village in Long Beach.
Has the Pier changed since 2002? some how it does look not the same. Is there more than this Pier? I was there in 2002 to visit family we walked down a pier one day and I just do not recognize this.
P.O.P. was easier to sneak into. we would crawl under the pier along the catwalks trying to avoid the guards and the waves below, then haul ourselves over the rails and blend into crowds, I also watched the place burn down as an adult, sad day in my hometown.
Please anyone let me know im 25year old and I met someone SHE 25 and we going hangout idk I don't want to say like a date but more like we going get to know each other and I was thing to going to Santa Monica Beach but I saw this Alos … but I like to know is this a good place to take her just hangout?? look like a little kids place? but some people say it okay... ANY IDEAS GUYS OR GIRLS THANKZ!!!
Yes and im from San Jose and go too LA every year and we go here than next day go to a main amusement park such as universal or six flags EDIT:HAVE U GONE KNOW?
Good video. I'm in Canada and have no such budget for a trip to Cali, but I can virtually visit! I can also pop into the gamer version within GTA 5.
Do u think it's worth going homeless over?

I would love if they added more coasters !!
We love visiting the Santa Monica Pier! We walk over to play all of the time!

This pier has been featured on several movies and TV shows. Due to its proximity to the Hollywood studios.
James Klatt and in GTA V
Kidsongs: I Can Dance (1997) was recorded at this amusement park in 1997.
I remember going on that coaster when I was 6 and thinking it was lame
Very cool video. Life was so free and easy back then.
I literally just came back from there and found this on my page
ooo I love Feed Big Bertha! It was one of my favorite games as a kid. "Feed me Feed me" lol
Great video about the pier! My wife and I recommend the Pier especially at sunset and sunrise.

persianking44 there’s no space though, the biggest they could to would be MAYBE a schwarschpopfe (no idea how to spell lmao) compact looping coaster.
Thanks for this helpful review, I live in germany and tomorrow I will hold a little presentation about the pacific park. :)
Terrific review. I have only been there 1 time. Beautiful place.

the roller coaster goes 35 mph
I worked at this place in 2008. Such good memories :)
looks asome

go check out coaster america
pinwheelguy Why are you asking me that???
BryceFourn 2001 He is probably advertising for his friend's channel. I've heard of coaster America before

great tour!
Cool video in going their next week super excited
Now I see where they got the Rollercoaster idea for GTA
"I didnt give it a Spin" I see what you did there.
great video!!! we're going to have to make a trip, my daughters and I.
They should rename the "West Coaster" the "Solar Coaster" because it's solar powered. It would probably bring in more visitors...
The Puncakian no, they shouldn't, its the west coaster because its in the west
I came here to resemble the Santa Monica pier to The GTA Del pero pier
Bamster Trek glad I’m not the only one who noticed that
GTA is half Spain
i think there is a Feed Big Bertha on the lower leave of the Great Canadian Midway in Niagara Falls.
The west coaster might be a good starter coaster for people who are just getting started riding roller coasters
Chase The pup yeah I’m an enthusiast and my five year old sister wants to also be an enthusiast and this was her first coaster
I went to pleasure pier at galveston beach Texas they have a eurofighter coaster named iron shark
OUTSTANDING VIDEO and NARRATION.!
One thing that wasn't mentioned was how all the rides were added as part of the refurbishment of the pier following its being pretty much destroyed during the el nino storms of 1983.
Cool video, I might go there on sunday
Bummer! My dad friends are in Santana Monica pier and i really wanted to go to but i cant because its almost time for school
So fun
You know in my earlier childhood memories, the dragon didn’t have that translucent roof over it.
does the pier close at night?
Most nights the rides run late
The sea dragon actually didn't used to have that roof the first time I've been to the pier
John Moss the Santa Monica pier is an overrated tourist destination and parking sucks over there. It’s better to go to shoreline village in Long Beach.
wow, who else got a mirabilandia ad?
Wow, i was there on Sunday

Nothing like the old P.O.P.
Of the 60's.
The old wood coaster was great!

When is the next construction update on universal
Me watching this in 2020 cause I was supposed to be here during July for my birthday 😢
does the lights stay open after 7pm?
Not sure
They should get a sbf spinner perfect fit tbh
love carousel horses ive always wanted one
i would probably scream on the roller coaster lol
I been there the dragon one is the fun one
I want to the RIDS
The roller coaster is fun if you ride in the back row
No the front
@@arnpun why the front?
Better experience
@@arnpun true bro but I'm more of a backy
