This is my youngest kids favorite place in California. My oldest kids favorite is Laguna beach and I still love Balboa Island as well. Cali is calling.
Love this! my daughter and I did the walk from Venice beach to Santa Monica pier and back - saw the muscle beach you showcased but I don’t recall seeing the newer one you mentioned - guess we just have to go back 😊
ive only been to santa monica pear a few times its a great place and during the day is s great place for a walk and for a bike ride orjust a good place to go with friends.
That Hot Dog on a Stick was there when I was 4 years old in 1958. We lived in Santa Monica for a year when we first came to California from New Jersey. We were living in a small apt on PCH and my mother would take us kids down to beach just about every day. That was my first experience of a corn dog and it blew my little mind that such a thing existed. Loved watching the guy make the dogs thru the window, I think there was a platform at the order window that you could watch from. I still love corn dogs and wish there was a Hot Dog ona Stick in my city. Great memories.
Santa Monica is NOT Safe! City of the walking Dead. Junkies shoot up in broad daylight.littered with used needles, broken glass crack pipes, urine and feces. Appalling and disgusting place.
Love this video,i was there in 1996 to see Will Rogers state beach and the lifeguard headquarters where they filmed Baywatch. I thought it was beautiful. Thankyou for another interesting video.
I did this exact walk back in April all the way from the end of the pier to Venice Beach...and back. Our feet were really sore by the end of it. The highlight was watching a Quincinera and. Bah Mitzvah being celebrated at the same time opposite each other in the middle of the pier.
Very cool video! I’ve always wanted to go to California, specifically LA. This video was very informative and enjoyable. It made me feel like I was walking alongside you on the pier.
Great video I've visited santa Monica many times I have family and friends who live close to the beach I was last here in 2019 I need to make a return trip maybe early next year Mike uk.
Love your videos man. I live in Tijuana and I´d been into visiting different places in California. Your videos have been so helpful. Thank you so much!
Santa Monica Pier may be the best pier today, but back when my family live there, the best was P.O.P. Pacific Ocean PArk. I can't fathom why it failed, for a few years it drew more poeple than Disneyland and was called by some the Disneyland of the Pacific. No doubt before your time.
Fun fact, Hot Dog on Stick started on Santa Monica Beach, I saw that on and episode of either "California's Gold" With Huell Howser or "Visiting with Huell Howser" I have a Rte 66 story, when I was about 8 0r 9, my dad and I went out to see my grandparents (his parents) in Perris, Ca/ My grandmother asked my grandfather to go to Stater Bros for her , so my dad drove and when he parked across the street from the grocery store (for non so. Californians who may not know what Stater Bros is) and left me in the car. I saw all of these hot rods(classic rebuilt cars that are "souped" up) coming pass me. It was some kind of car show on Route 66 on its way to San Bernadino . I didn't know it then but as I got older and listened to Nat King Cole"s classic song "Route 66" where he mentions SB , I put two and two together. Back when I was going to community college, I applied for a job assisting in supervising, setting up/ cleaning up after children's birthday parties. I ended up not taking that job because it conflicted with my school schedule at the time . Casa Del Mar, Shutters on the Beach and Lowes Santa Monica are some of the most well known hotels on the beach, and have the prices /night to prove it.
The Santa Monica Pier looks much better than it did when you did the walking tour a couple years ago when everything was mostly closed due to the pandemic! It's great to see things back up and running again. I'm surprised not many people go all the way to the end of the pier. That's one of the things I always like to do on a pier - I always have to go to the end!
I was there today, and there was a young man sitting on a bench with some books. He repeated “I wrote this” over and over, and it appeared he may have had cerebral palsy, or similar. (Apologies if my diagnosis is way off). If anyone knows his name, or knows if his book is available anywhere else, I’d love to know. I was caught without any cash, and didn’t want to waste his time, but I’d still like to know what he wrote. Thanks.
Funny, I found your secret parking lot by examining Google maps carefully. I saw it was municipal and not on the main drag and thought 'bet this place is cheap'
Wow, first thing I missed leaving Japan, CLEAN restrooms and HEATED toilet seats!!!! Japanese Airports are sparkling clean, LAX looks and smells like the inside of a garbage can!!!!
Juan 14:16 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Hope nobody thought that was the vendor's name.
My family have been walking on that pier from it's beginning in 1909. when my family first moved to Santa Monica the population was around 400 people in 1870. It'd so sad that Santa Monica is full of Liberals any more
If your in the UK, rent one from one of the mobility shops, that sell disability scooters ect. That's what we did. They will put it on the plane for you along with your luggage.

Iove the addition of zooming in to the level of the binoculars saving us 25 cents
It's awesome that you always visit and introduce those spots personally.

Those instant photos booths are fun. It’s not about just taking a photo. Also those photos are timeless souvenirs.
Whenever I go to Santa Monica I go there all the time and this is the best pier I ever been too in L.A. and Orange County ❤
ive only been to santa monica pear a few times its a great place and during the day is s great place for a walk and for a bike ride orjust a good place to go with friends.

Thank you for the video!!! I’m taking a solo trip there and this was more than enough info 😊
Awesome Doug!
Brings back memories, used to spend a lot of time growing up playing in the arcade on the pier plus time on the beach.
Best detailed and entertaining tour video on the entire internet.👍
Wow, thanks!
This is an awesome tour, thank you so very much!
One of my favorite California memories is sitting in that bubba Gump and watching the sunset.
Mmmm

Southern California is a gem. And California in general.

Your video is fun and not boring. You are a great creator. 👍

Thank you for the tour. I wish I can take more trips but it was a nice tour of the Santa Monica Pier

Thanks to you, Chris, the local secret is out. 😀
Great to see how they cleaned out all the vendors it made the pier too crowded just hard to walk around
Thanks!
Love it !

Love your videos man. I live in Tijuana and I´d been into visiting different places in California. Your videos have been so helpful. Thank you so much!

If anyone is familiar with the mobile game Pokemon Go, the Pier is one of the best places in the world to catch Pokemon
Thanks for the tip Matt!
It looks so much nicer when the sun is shining unlikely when I visited in teh morning and it was cloudy back in June.
THis is the same parking lot we used too!
Nice!
Welcome to GTA 5 Oh Wait lol

Neat! Makes sense why that Hot Dog on a Stick looks so classic. And thanks for sharing your Rte 66 story 😉
I've never been there in person. But I have played GTA!
Love GTA 😉
I love starting huge fights here
(In GTA)

Can you please do a new video on Santa Monica Pier
You should have done a three's company this is the same and that's the original carousel that's featured in the opening of three's company the
Will a weekday visit worth it too?
For sure
Where do you like to stay in or near Santa Monica when you have OC Girl and The Traveling Princess with you?
I like the Marriott Marina Del Rey: ruclips.net/video/apnk954VC0E/видео.html
I saw saten walking the side walk next to Pacific heights park, and he had his pathetic parade going on about 3am. I laughed and went back to sleep.
What time do the rides open?
11am
"Come and knock on our door!"
Maybe do the video when the park is open.
I have a 2nd video coming soon that is JUST a walkthrough of Pacific Park
@@YellowProductions Awesome. Thanks.
Soo, sewage still goes in ocean from the pier or no??
I don't think so 😉
@@YellowProductions well I wish I didn't know that 🤣🤣 now don't think I'll ever go swim there again 💩💩🤢🤮🤣🤣
Funny, I found your secret parking lot by examining Google maps carefully. I saw it was municipal and not on the main drag and thought 'bet this place is cheap'
Nice!
If you like weed you'll definitely love the boardwalk!
Hah. For sure
Wow, first thing I missed leaving Japan, CLEAN restrooms and HEATED toilet seats!!!!
Japanese Airports are sparkling clean, LAX looks and smells like the inside of a garbage can!!!!
LAX is definitely gross compared to any Japanese airport
Came here after playing Dead Island 2
You forgot to show us the parking lot😂
Gta?

Haven't been there in forever. I'm not that big of a fan of beaches. Whitefish Montana looks better.
4 dollars for a bottle of water is obsured
Are homeless people still an issue there?
Yes
@@YellowProductions thank you for letting me know.
Hire a professional narrator and a Fact checker.. Lots of false and erroneous information given. and bad narration.
can you rent a wheelchair ? were going in a once in a lifetime trip and the pier is one of our stops
Hmm. Not sure where the nearest wheelchair rental is
If your in the UK, rent one from one of the mobility shops, that sell disability scooters ect. That's what we did. They will put it on the plane for you along with your luggage.
Planning a trip this summer. This video was so helpful. Thank you!!
