    I'm definitely buying one. Lucky me the office in Florida its about 45 min away. Good thing I found you guys. Will start my renovation pretty soon and this little house is going on my backyard. NOTE: on 11:46min "Never install roofing felt during even the lightest rain and sure that roof boards are dry before you start". You can see rain drops on the camera and see the planks getting rain drops as well 😂

    A beautiful, remarkable product: fair play! Tip: consider several soundtracks. The one, continuous, music loop can grate on the patience of potential consumers.

      They also installed it the wrong way round too.
      They should have started at the lowest point so that the overlaps face down towards that point.
      Now when it rains that rain is eventually going to force its way under those edges and it will rot in no time!

    Good video. Although I noticed some mistakes and, what I would consider to be poor practice in some of this build.

      In England or Europe for that matter it rains on and off all the time, so to get a day without or a straight week without rain is almost non existent.
      Really nice work and nice kits. I am building a shed along with a matching house and I have never done this before. going to put earth like adobe type into the walls. I am in the USA Missouri, so the weather next March should be good time to start, not too hot outside or cold.

    No you don't nail decking boards down they have to be screwed. Nailing the board will not prevent any cupping in the timber as it dries out any they will simply pop off the nails, even if the nails are annular. bad advice there

    Not bad considering it's only 3,000 dollars but the construction is really cheap and doesn't appear very sturdy. A pre-built shed is more solid construction. Just customize the shed and throw on a deck and you get the same thing but I believe it would last longer and be able to withstand harsher conditions.

    nice but the roof looks like is going to be filled with water when rain, isnt that be damage the entire cabin to the point that because of the water weight m aybe the cabin will fall? or in little time the wood will be damaged?

      yeah, and the roof will get bogged down after 5 years because of the roof structure. And the tar paper also not a good idea if there is a big temperature fluctuation...And on the other hand, water protection is also missing, as always in UK-USA.
      In Hungary we _always_ make concrete base with metal and we _always_ put plastic or tar paper protection between the wood and concrete. We never put any wood directly the ground, because the wood will absorb water and it will get bogged down in 5-10 years...
      However we can buy this kind of small houses as shed, but we always have to improve the structure to make them useful and durable.

    How long does it take to install a cabin like this?

    • @danieljones7096
      @danieljones7096 6 лет назад

      FE59FE59 I just recently built one, albeit smaller, but on a raised deck platform. It took three of us 2 days and that was with two mistakes that made us drive back to Lowe’s to get the correct lumber that set us back several hours. If we hadn’t had those screw ups we might have been able to do it in one long day.

  • @tomharries847

    This is not a log cabin but a fancy summerhouse with moulded boards for the walls, prob using a logosol product or similar to mass produce the walls and roof. Nothing wrong with that but still it isn't a log cabin. Also although it maybe hot outside it's not very proffesional having contractors working at a client's house with no top on.
