i had to listen to this a few times to realize he played his solo from Captain Hook over 1612. Nutty
They also used the Mr. Finish Line trio solo over Back Pocket
@@ts_trainspotter1046 other way around, right? Or are you memeing
@@ts_trainspotter1046 mr finish line came out after back pocket
@Anna ♪ what's that dogshit and why are you posting it on our lord and savior's channel
The 3rd bar sounded like that lick he did in Cory Wong the song, not to be confused with Cory Wong the artist, who was named after said song.
As a bass player, this is what I strive for; the day when I can truly play 16th notes that fast and play them all PERFECTLY is the day I will finally move on.
that slaps, truly
actually it’s finger style ;)
The last second with only the guitar track sounded really good
Courtesy of Cory Wong himself
@@mr.figgles Can you believe his parents named him after a Vulf song? Such a coincidence.
@@mr.figgles sounds like Jack not Cory
@@konlconallplaymusic4352 probably 💀
Y'all need to check out Vulfpeck and all their side projects. Joe Dart is a bass BEAST!
I'm so glad he's getting his well deserved recognition
you're close. actually it's vulfpeck. i know this because i'm german
@@johannesm8137 it’s not vulfpeck is vulfpeck
no
@@caerulemusic Yes!
B...but... why did it have to stop?
that bassist, so funky
Joe Dart, funky guy
And low volume.
One of the best out there right now
“that bassist”
Even with the challenge of only playing 16th notes he still phrases and ties 16th notes together, not breaking the rules but sliding around it
Welp, looks like he made it to the & of 1 in the second bar.
it’s a tied sixteenth note bro it counts he’s just smarter than us both
the e of the bar not the &
@@Qrw-zd4xw I suppose the note starts on the e but the & is the first time he doesn't play a new 16th note. So y'know, depends on how you measure it. Either way, he's clearly a hack. Haha
@@AdamEmond joe dart, a HACK? Funniest thing I’ve heard in my life
@@coltrv :)
Sick! Thanks for the tab too, even though I real sheet music fairly well tabs are just so intuitive for plucked instruments
thank you very much for the tabulature!
Ahhh the vulf peck
"Continuous 16th notes for as long as he can"
*misses one in the second bar*
XD
No rules saying you can't tie 16th notes together!
@@SamuelWebster So I could beat this challenge by continuously playing 32nd notes, but they're all tied together into breves?
@@nuberiffic if you're a smooth talker.
@@SamuelWebster or a smooth criminal?
@@nuberiffic I think there are some 8ths in that one.
"OMG hE miSsEd oNe gUys LOOOOL!!!11"
Wow, I bet you're really fun at parties...
Those 9 people in the crowd love you. Me included. That solo was beautiful
I'm a simple woman. I see Joe Dart, I click.
Aren’t we all?
LOL!
@@WaffleHouse1955 no im a guy
Awesome transcription!
But the e notes in measure 11 and 13 at beat 2 should be a octive higher, I think. Just like it was written in measure 9.
OBVIOUSLY IT'S JOE DART
Easier than we think but, still impressive. It is not a cadenza, it just fits the groove
"I didn't go to jazz school, I went to the jazz club"
Joe dart on the Joe dart
damn that's good
So good
New George video pog
Btw this version is cut up, his actual solo was twice as long, there is a full version somewhere
Was expecting longer, but he is good.
Does that really count as continuous? There were rests in between the sixteenth notes near the end
His solo was over by then, went back to playing the bassline
@@coltrv oh, I see, thanks for the info
1612 THATS THE CODE TO MY HEART
thank you so much for this!! i tried to find tabs for this some weeks ago and couldnt find any...
Joe Dart = plenty of material to study.
Good call George (sheesh.. as always). Thanks.
In the best way possible this is so rank and dirty
Joe and Vulf are incredible
Sounded more like funk than jazz
This man is in another realm.
God I love vulfpeck
Joe Freakin’ Dart
Joe Dart on the Fender Jazz Bass.
Please man! I'm asking you so needed, where can I find da full complete concert 🙏
i thought this was gonna be hairspray lol
Excellent 👍👏😉
nice
A Tour De France of bass some would say... No active pickups some would say...
Vulfpeck on this channel?? Friday just got way better
Vulfcrack on Dart
Joe Dart!!!!
I wonder if Joe Dart knows he made it on George Collier?
Love the transcriptions. May I ask why you choose a notation for funk music that emphasizes rests? Especially the last part. For me a notation with less rests and clear beams that indicate " beats" would make it easier to play and analyse. Anyway. Thanks always a joy to watch...
Maybe to show that it's short, but I feel like you could just use staccato then
That was so stanky I literally had to hold my nose
Sounds like the guitar track at the end was added over top of the actual video very call sound
Cool sound
Any codes to my heart?
Y Dios vió que el funk era bueno
Literally me
play at 1.5x speed for cheeki breeki
Is it just my hear, or it would be impossible for me to transcribe that solo? I really can't hear the intervals when he plays in a low register. Maybe I need to pay a bit more attention and listen to it more times
Mostly at 0:30
Guessing you aren’t a bassist then
@@pectenmaximus231 I'm not xD I only played guitar, violin, and mostly piano
tbf i dont think its perfectly transcribed so yeah its slightly hard to hear. George put two open low Es on the 1612 riff but i think one of thems the octave
Learning to hear things in lower registers is a little different to higher registers
If I had to take a semi-educated guess it's due to a combination of the unfamiliarity most people have with that range of frequencies, and also the wavelengths of said frequencies, at that low a pitch notes are a bit harder to distinguish from each other sometimes; something that is exemplified in the joke "bass player problem No. 4826: you played a gig tuned a half step down, and no one noticed, not even you"
is that last part the 1612 bassline, but faster now?
m.ruclips.net/video/gPxGu4FJjxM/видео.html
Don’t mind me, I’ll just pop in the conversation and pretend I understand what’s going on, here.
Full song?
It's a live version of 1612, but I don't know what concert
The solo itself later (I think) ended up in the song Captain Hook on their Mr. Finish Line album
Hehe "rules" are meant to be broken
Gather here if you don't understand what's happening 🤧
Jazz school is for people who want to play """jazz""" not true Jazz.
