    I live in Texas and I'm learning blues guitar from a British dude. You are keeping the British invasion alive my man, tell your mates!!!

      I’m an English dude who never played guitar before Texas. I went to ‘Richardson’s bar and grill’ in Dallas (after loads of time in Austin) and long story short, a guy called “Buck” walked in, asked if there were musicians in the crowd, gathered a few strangers and they ripped some incredible pink Floyd style blues so flawlessly. I asked him as he walked out how strangers could play something so amazing and he said “we just agreed to play in the key of C” and I never forgot that. Texas made me want to play guitar. Such an inspiration just to be there

    4:39 FINALLY someone showed the major pentatonic going rightward! for years this confused me! you can always sound out major pentatonic by thinking of My Girl intro.

    I have played guitar for many years, but have become disillusioned with the whole band thing. These days I play by myself with backing tracks or a looper. I find your uploads interesting and helpfull so thankyou for your fime and efforts, I enjoy your teaching style.

    First, your channel is great! Your country licks videos were very fun and informative. Can't say enough about it. Your laid back approach in explaining the theory behind the techniques is straightforward and stress free, something many instructors don't handle well. Now as far as this lesson, I learned the exact opposite, that you start on the minor pentatonic and go to the major on the four. But, as I write this, I realize this is a major blues, which inverts ALL the rules. Fun stuff, later I wanna go play!😎👍

    When the four chord comes just play the closest note that’s in the minor scale. Brilliant!

    The difficult thing in my opinion is learning how to improvise in an interesting way rather than repeating the same hackneyed licks over and over. I'm not there yet... For the time being, I will be happy to learn how to sound as if I knew what I am doing 😂. Thanks, great lesson!

    This is very useful. Thanks. Can you also perhaps tell us something about playing over minor blues? Do you just stick to the minor pentatonic? Or is there more that can be done to outline the chord changes?

    • @acpg
      @acpg  2 месяца назад

      Minor blues is slightly different, but you can still outline the chord changes in a similar way. There is a minor blues video somewhere on my channel that I did a while back, if you do a search you should find it.
