Greetings Onorato. Me again (we messaged briefly recently in the comments of another video of yours, talking about the surety of salvation).
      I hope you’re well.
I am just messaging to say, what you mention in this video about the believer who treasures what is temporary, to the exclusion of that which is eternal, inevitably loses both temporary possessions and eternal reward. He loses his life’s intended impact purpose value and significance. This sounds like me. This feels like what I have done through being deceived, since believing in Jesus and turning back to my old ways.
Do you think there is anything that can be done for anyone who finds themselves in this condition?
I have just wasted so much time.
Probably hurt and offended so many & been nothing but a burden to the body of Christ, and everyone else.
This is how I feel right now anyway.
I hope this is just the enemy planting doubt in my mind.
      God bless.
      Jonathan.

As christians we must have complete trust in our Heavenly Father. Even as we struggle in life. As I constantly struggle to provide for my two autistic children I keep faith. Faith is all I have. It is truly the only armor against the enemy. As a single mom things are hard on me. My health is fading I suffered a heart attack two years ago and I’m battling lupus. Every month is a struggle to get by. I struggle to pay rent and struggle to buy groceries it’s disheartening. But God lifts me up everyday. He has carried me this far. No matter how hard my financial struggles are I will praise Jesus! I will keep faith because I believe that Jesus is King. ❤❤

It could not be better said! I struggled with this same question fifty years ago as a new believer in Christ and still struggle with it today. I wanted to enter a life of Christian service but the only thing i could think of was to become a minister or missionary. I was aware of organizations like the Salvation army which ministered the gospel and helped the poor and the Society of St. Vincent DePaul which I learned of later. I was unable to bring myself to that point of humility to serve others but now as look back over the years and in the mirror I am deeply ashamed. I did have a brief opportunity to help in a rescue mission while I was homeless. I still am unable to overcome that spirit of pride so I will enter eternity hopefully with my soul intact and perhaps a few rewards. The hardest struggle a man sometimes faces is the one with himself! This video has brought a fresh spirit of conviction on me and I am going to attempt again to overcome myself and find somewhere that I might be of service. Thank You and God Bless your work and channel!

@@majorcajun5524 This is not for the church. You need to Rightly divide the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
If you read in context in Matthew hear who Jesus is speaking to... the Jews, Israel. Divide Salvation vs Reward. Believer vs Unbeliever. Goats vs sheep. Israel vs Gentile.
We Gentiles have the free Gift of Salvation through the Blood & finished work of Jesus Christ. Or Christ died for nothing! Gal.2:21
Always read in Context, know who is it for & why. God can not contradict Himself.
Ephesians 2:8 For by GRACE you have BEEN SAVED through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, NOT of WORKS, lest anyone should boast.

@@majorcajun5524, I’m thinking the servant that received one talent, could be referring to someone who had some truth about God, but suppressed it (hence placing the talent in the ground). This person never responded to the truth they had, therefore they never believed and got saved. May also be talking about unsaved Jews (hence being called servants), who had the scriptures that testified of Christ, but suppressed the truth they had and did not receive there Messiah by Faith.
Romans 1:18-21, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
John 5:39-40, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.”
The ones who received more talents could be those who received more truth from God, because they are believers, which lead to spiritual growth that was rewarded at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
This is just my current opinion, and where my mind goes when trying to understand this parable. I could very well be off base, but at least it’s a doctrinally sound interpretation.

Excellent teaching Brother Onorato...beautifully explained step by step...So many pastors get this difference between salvation and discipleship wrong...
Salvation Free to the believer because Christ was our substitute:
Eph. 2-8:9 For by Grace are you saved through Faith, and that NOT OF YOURSELVES, it is the GIFT OF GOD NOT OF WORKS, lest anyone should boast.
    ROMANS 5:6-8
FOR WHEN WE WERE YET WITHOUT STRENGTH, IN DUE TIME CHRIST DIED FOR THE UNGODLY. FOR SCARCELY FOR A RIGHTEOUS MAN WILL ONE DIE: YET PREADVENTURE (the word peradventure means perhaps) FOR A GOOD MAN SOME WOULD EVEN DARE TO DIE. BUT GOD COMMENDETH HIS LOVE TOWARD US, IN THAT, WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US.
    Discipleship cost the believer:
Luk 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
    John 8:31-32 - Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
God bless you and your ministry brother Onorato

      sin is bad/evil works
repenting of sin is good works but has nothing to do with salvation
      fasting is good works too
      it is disciplining yourself
good works is anything that you do unto God for his glory
if i build a temple for the glory of God thats a good work
if i fasted for 3 days for the glory of God thats a good work
if i disciplined myself to try and turn from sin for the glory of God thats a good work

I agree with you, sin can be a work, but all sin begins in the heart/mind (lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, pride of life). If I covet in my heart, there are no outward signs or actions unless I follow through with it. The action that may follow the thought is definitely a work of sin, but so is the thought that precedes it.

    • @reignellwalker9755
      @reignellwalker9755 10 месяцев назад +2

Jonah 3:10 shows us that turning from sin is works
it also shows us that repent does not just mean turning from sin
repent means a change of mind so yes you can repent of sin but thats
not its sole definition, for example i could repent of thinking orange juice is the best juice and start believing that apple juice is the best juice
(change my mind about orange juice being the best juice)
when Jesus tells us to repent and believe to be saved he is saying change your mind from unbelief to belief
nowhere does he specify "of sin"

I want to challenge this. You claim that Matt 16 passage you used refers to service not salvation because of other passages like Romans which say we are saved by faith not works.
But i think you are trying to use other passages to make your assumptions. However, Forlines from the book 'classical arminiaism' argues that self denial and faith are central to salvation. that true faith leads to obedience and service. We see James 5 that shows that faith and works are to work together with each other. We are saved by faith not works. But by faith it will show our works. Robert Picirili agrees with this.
Robert Shank made an excellant point that passages like Matt 16, Matt 10 when Jesus says about self denial to God is showing a hearts surrender to God, not gaining or losing rewards. True obedience is what shows for salvation, and God is encouraging us to be obedient to him and to not walk away from the faith and become hardened by sin (Heb 3).
The arminian bible commentary will tell you that storing treasures in heaven connects to a transformed life that reflects salvation not just rewards. Living for Christ will indicate a true believer. Losing one's self for Christ is a strong indicator.
So Onorato is making big assumptions that every passage that indicates losing salvation HAS to be rewards because salvation is by faith not works... he's completely missing an important point! The works in James 5.... this is different to the 'works' Paul mentions about the gift of salvation.
The bible continually warns Christians to live holy for Christ, to not fall into sin and walk away from Christ (Heb 3), to not give up Christ because of tribulations and trials (Heb 10), to not walk in Darkness (1 John). Don't be deceived into thinking that you can just sit back and relax and everything is okay... Don't take grace for granted guys... Walk in the Light, Jesus will give you every bit of strength to do so and trust me... your life will be so much more happier, peaceful and full of Joy knowing you are blessed by going through trials for you will be given the crown of life!

@@christiandanario You’re making reference to James 2, not James 5. Also, proponents of conditional security are seemingly incapable of considering any consequence for sin in the believer’s life outside of the loss of salvation. Our security is not a “license to sin," but rather a motivation to serve. The Bible says, “The love of Christ constraineth us," not the fear of Hell or the loss of salvation. The same love from which the child of God cannot be separated (Romans 8.)

@@OnoDiamante Hi brother, That verse you used from 2 Cor 5:14, doesn't indicate that we can't forfeit salvation.
The greek word 'constraint' synecho' is best understood as compel, urge or press on. Not some kind of forcefully placed thing where we cannot go anywhere. But more of a powerful motivation towards obedience. It doesn't eliminate free will to leave.
With the Romans 8 passage, we must look at the context. He is talking about the future glorification of believers.. We see Paul talking about "eager expectation" of creation, waiting for the "revealing of the sons of God". (v23-25) We have been adopted in one sense but we are still waiting eagerly to be adopted as sons.... he tells, to wait for it with patience
We also don't see anywhere in Romans 8 where it talks about rebellion against God in this passage, only sufferings endured in service to God. Paul here is quoting Psalm 44. God pretty much is encouraging those who are in affliction not to worry because Christ is with them during it. So no external forces can separate them from the love of God. NOT the believers responsibility to have faith.
as we are IN Christ, nothing can separate us from God's love. However in verses 12-14 of Romans 8 he warns us that we must continue to live in the Spirit by putting to death the practises of the flesh. Although no external threat can snatch us from God's hand, we ourselves can still walk away. Romans 8 is saying there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus... who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. (v4)
