    Hey. Nice video. But did your relief valve blow both ways? And what are the signs of a good relief valve?

    • @NewOrleansSpeed
      @NewOrleansSpeed  4 года назад

      J.E.Y Cars you know, i never blew through it the opposite way. But in my case the relief valve was dead as a door nail. A good sign is it’s brand new in packaging lol, or you can’t blow through it. What issues are you having?

      Basically i think i got bad gas. Then the car would start. Stay on for a little while then die once it gets to operating temperature. And won’t start if its hot. Did that for a day. Then the next day it wouldn’t stay on at all. The only way it would stay on is to give it full throttle. N it wouldn’t even go pass 700 rpm. And it was missing really bad. Then i drained the gas. Cleaned everything. Then put new gas. Same thing. And it would give out black smoke. Then finally I unplugged the hpfp connector then it would start normally. It drives. But doesn’t hit boost at all. And every time i plug in the connector of the hpfp. It dies. I bought a pump from ebay thinking its the pump. But it still does the same thing if the pump is connected. I thought it was the relief valve. I took it out to test it. But i cant blow into it at all. Now idk wat is wrong with it. And i still dont get no hpfp reading from my accessport. Its always 0 since it started missing. I know its a lot to read. But please help. My car has been sitting for a week. And corona making things hard.

      Hey man, i dont mind helping anyone out. First let me ask some questions, when you say clean everything what do you mean? did you clean the HPFP? that being said, black smoke isnt always a bad sign, black normally means gas, and based on your other issues it would seem that your having some fueling problems.
      If the HPFP is unplugged it means that the only gas hitting your fuel rail is from you intank pump. I am honestly surprised it started with it unplugged. Your fuel pressure from the intank pump is negligible compared to the amount you need to run the car, let alone make boost.
      If you cant blow through the relief valve than i would say thats not your issue. Do you have a link to the pump you bought? You have any codes poping up on the AP? You check your plugs? It's definitely seems to be having a problem with the fuel system up front.

    • @JEYCars

      Yes. I definitely think its a fuel problem. It starts without the pump being connected. But im pretty sure fuel runs through the hpfp. Maybe its just not sending high pressure fuel. But the codes i have are p0091 and p2188. I had just changed my spark plugs. I think everything works fine except the fuel pump. Maybe the internal went bad. Because when i plug it in. It makes a whistling noise. Kind of wining noise too. Then dies. When said cleaned. I meant the gas tank and the lines. The hpfp i replaced it. And it was the stock one and didn’t work so i put mines back on. Since i have aftermarket internals.

      J.E.Y Cars see a whistle or a whine leads me to believe that the pump is dead or the relief valve is dead. But since the relief valve is intact and you aren’t getting fuel pressure at all, I’d say it’s you fuel pump. You got an IG? Any photos of what you bought?

    I’m not sure if Im having the same problem but when I start my car it struggles to start up well making a engine bust sound but it always does start up. Also when I’m driving and try to accelerate it is as response as it should because you feel the vehicle stall. So could it be a pressure valve I need some help

      if it sounds like metal slapping it is most likely your VVT going out and it will need to be replaced

    Do you know if a bad relief valve could cause the fuel pressure being too high and not being able to correctly lower the pressure?
    That seems to be the case on my car and the fuel pressure sits way too high constantly. At idle its trying to target around the 400 range but sits around 1200 to 1400 causing a rich condition. Tried cleaning everything intake related and checked for any leaks. My fuel trims are always pegged at -25 and adjusting the MAF calibration does not fix it either. I do have HPFP internals.

      @@juanmcar00 Yes cleaned my pump and it was actually the turbo going bad too. The turbine was seized at low boost and rpm, restricting air and causing a rich condition. it would spool up if you pushed the car oddly enough.
