Can you do one on the Tumors on the spleens of large dogs that kill them? I know it has a specific name and its common in large breeds like getman shepherds, dobermans, rottweilers and such. My male shepherd just had one, we thought it was arthritis but he had a 30 lb tumor on his spleen anf the vet didnt notice it till it ruptured anf bled into his stomach. They told us we would have to put him down but other research has said they can survive an operation as ling as it wasnt cancerous even if it was bleeding. Im so confused on the clash of info and i miss my dog so much. I want to raise awareness if it so more research is done for it. He shouldve never had to go through that kind of pain.
Our dog just got blasto currently, in fact this is so rare we had to visit the vet 5 different times before we got a definitive result. Poor girl is going through it right now, eye infection, her fatty lumps got bigger and she’s really having a hard time breathing. Vet says she is very optimistic about her recovery so we’re just taking it day by day but it’s so hard watching this poor girl struggle to be the dog she once was
Would you talk about either Legg Perthes Disease or Cruciate Ligament Ruptures next? My cat had Legg Perthes and I hardly see cats mentioned when looking it up! And my dog is healing from the other. It's interesting hearing about what they are and the treatments!
Thank you this was helpful. A year and a half ago my beagle got blasto. He has a cough for a week we took him to the vet they gave him antibiotics and it just got worse. His left eye got swollen and thats when we took him again to the vet and they ran blood and a few other tests and he had blasto. They gave him medication to get rid of it but he had to be on the medication for 9 months. He ended up getting skin legions his hair was falling out he ended up losing his vision in his left eye. He pulled through and made a full recovery.
Thanks for the great info on blasto. I haven’t encountered it too often at work, but we also can’t confirm it readily. We’ve had a lot of rain this year, so I wonder if we’ll be seeing more potential blastomycosis cases.
@@misszetec there can be changes on a blood panel, and x-rays can SOMETIMES look like cancer (lymphoma). There are some slight differences we typically see with Blasto on x-rays compared to cancer (nodule size, distribution, etc.). “Classically,” however, Blasto does look different from cancer on x-rays.
Did not know about this disease. Great info and very timely since with the hurricane passing through, it feels like a steam room outside...thx!

I lost my dog to this a year ago

Can the signs and symptoms of this look like lymphoma on X-ray? Would there be any changes on blood work with this type of infection?
