It certainly is. I listened to the live version which was from her show's debut in La Jolla Playhouse, which of course officially uploaded on RUclips for us to listen. This one on the other is based on her recording version which also available to listen here on RUclips. But, Idk...I'm a little bit conflicted on which one's better. Since I listened to both versions of Great Escape. Nevertheless, still a beautiful song. You know Idina never misses when it comes to her music, just impeccably talented at her core. ❤
It was a beautiful performance, but it’s worth noting that she appeared to be lip-syncing to a pre-recorded vocal track. Not meant as a criticism, just something for the audience to be aware of.
@@theurbanyogipodcastwithwil1799 any proof? Coz if aint criticism, then it's blatant speculation without closeup inspection. And I've seen such cringy speculation coming such, including yours. Bet you weren't even there. But I know a few folks who actually saw her rehearse a before the day of the parade knows she ain't lip-syncing. So don't even try to use her parade rehersal clip as an excuse for that lipsync speculation, if you don't know jacksh*t. Come back to me once you figured out you're wrong.
@@realfairygrove Hello! Kelly Clarkson, a few rappers, the temptations this year, quite a few broadway plays. I'm from NY and although I've never been: friends and family broke the news to us decades ago that most of them lip sync. However it is a choice and not everyone does. Part of the fun I have every year is figuring out who is lip syncing every year and it is definitely not everyone. It is however usually the ones appearing. on tv (there's actually a lot of performances you do not see on some of the channels). Hope that clears it up, there's some of your names off the top of my head.
@@heeheeriah According to a few celebrities who have been interviewed regarding this they supposedly all get a choice. I can only tell you, based on my brother/friends who've been to the parade, that it is very obvious in person which float is lip syncing and which isn't since the sound is vastly different. So I'm inclined to believe the people who have said everyone gets the choice, especially because if you actually look at old performances you can see/hear where people mess up lyrics while on floats. It is very cold on many thanksgiving mornings over here so I think a lot of singers are either pressured or simply choose to lip sync to preserve their vocal cords for tours/whatnot.
this song was beautiful! she absolutely killed it!

I knew her voice sounded familiar. Elsa!
And Elphaba from Wicked too ☺️
And Maureen from Rent 😆
I can picture elsa singing let it go.
Such a recognizable voice. She's one of one.
Lip synching??? Where the musicians
name one person who hasn’t lip-synced at the macys day parade. one.

@@Inurantchan I thought they only had the choice if they weren't on a float?
