How to Remove Seized Seatpost? (The Uncommon Attempt)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 17 мар 2022
- Bought this Kona Muni Mula with seized seatpost, the previous owner tried to remove it but without success. I used the uncommon way to remove it with a quill stem and handlebar.
Make sure to put grease on the new seatpost and inside the frame upon the installation

This totally worked for me. A ten-pound drill bit and a few squirts of oil. Thank you
Noice. A quilly puller is a great idea. Love that cable routing. All my bikes have it ... even the ones that don't have it.
Thanks 👍
Great idea...I'll try it
It musta felt so good getting it right. Right now im currently at the opening image. The rod is below the frame level by just a hair.. i been thinkin about it all night
Thanks, bro!😃
Қандай ақыл!? Күшті , міндетті түрде көремін!
Nice❤
I learn a lot from this video❤
I recently got ahold of a 1993 Kona Cinder Cone frame as with yours it seems the previous owner attempted to remove it as it is probaby about 3\4 of the way out but jammed in tight, iam going to try this method wish me luck.
Good thinking batman ,I have an old 52 Holdsworth monsoon that I'm trying this on this weekend 😀
Nice, keep us updated on the progress.
Good job friend thanks
Youre a life saver
Thanks, genius idea. I'll let you know if it worked for me soon...
I have tried this, sadly it didn't work at all. This really depends on how ruddy stuck your post is. Good luck to anyone attempting this challenge. I'd be REALLY cautious about trying caustic soda- it can make a massive, dangerous mess.
How do you get to the point it stuck that bad in the first place.Aluminium on steel?
Going to give this a try on the next one. I am too far in on the current one to tey it. doh!
I have a stuck alloy seatpost in a cro mo GT frame. It is right in the frame with none sticking out to hold onto and the top seat connector has pulled out so I was looking at this very trick this morning. Unfortunately my seat post is 27.2mm that does not allow a quill stem to go inside. So I have ordered a sleeve anchor that is used for bolting heavy stuff into walls. An M16 size has a 20mm external diameter that should fit just fine. If that doesn't work then it will be the old hacksaw trick to cut segments out.
Try the star nut for a threadless headset, a loop of chain, and a slide hammer
Very smart
How to remove stuck quill stem first 😅
My bike is like this where can I take it the get it fix?
Genius
I've just watched a video of a guy dissolving the post with caustic soda!
This method seems better, but doesn't the stem tighten the post into the seat tube?
It won’t hurt to try it.
Not a good idea with an alloy frame!!!!!!!
@@johne1956 YES--like this Kona in the video
Any update of disc brake adapter 2.0 video?
Unfortunately, no update yet.
What if you have bmx and your seat post is stuck right at the bottom ?😅
What is the weight of the disc brake adapter 2.0?
It weighs 120g.
@@DanyoSports thanks
That wasn't truly stuck ! Only a combination of an Aluminium seatpost in a Steel frame will give you true Galvanic Corrosion.
Chingon
What is the top speed? 🚴🥵
I have a problem. Cuz i can mobe my seatpost around i just cant pull it up no matter what i do
You’ll need to cut it.
Yo tengo ese problema, pero mi cuadro es de carbono
Very smart
