Givenchy Gentlemen Reserve Prive is definitely one of my favorite colognes so far. Very versatile and never offends anybody. Hands down will always be a staple in my collection. When you were talking about iris I started to think about JPG's le male the original. Regardless I will have to get my nose on some of those you mentioned especially Oh La La. Thanks for the suggestions and until the next.
if you ever get a chance to go to Italy, go. Ponte vecchio is as much a market is it is a bridge. I was there in the early to mid 2000s where there were numerous artisan kiosks and shops, little cafes and desert places. And if you're into quality leather works there is/was a shop around the corner with impeccable jackets, messenger bags, purses, etc. If I had more money at the time I would have indulged and brought a Florentine jacket back to Canada. ... and, I love men's florals. Loved Givenchy, Prada and Valentino Uomo from first sniff.
Hey Justin. I have been getting into the iris lately. It is a calming scent for me and my wife really likes it too. Can't lose. Thanks for the video......
I'm a huge fan of Iris as a scent. I have a few fragrances with the notes of either Iris or orris or both, but two stand out the most to me. Dior Homme Intense and Myths Man by Amouage. Both are lovely in their own way but I'd imagine Dior Homme Intense would be the easiest to wear for most. But for the daring, check out Myths Man from the house of Amouage.
I’m a 30 year old man. Prada L’Homme and Prada L’Homme Intense are both in my collection and I love them .I agree they are commonly mentioned. They are priced well and smell great.
Fellow 30 year old man checking in. L'Homme Intense is fantastic. It's really the only iris fragrance I've tried so far that I actually really enjoy, other than DHP. Tried Valentino Uomo Intense and DHI but they just didn't do it for me, at all.
Surely you read that? Indeed I did, fortunate enough as to know how to cheat by pressing pause. I love Iris; Prada L'Homme was my first designer fragrance. Reserve Privée is gorgeous indeed, but pretty safe, though. Just like Dior Homme Parfum... But the one biggie missing IMHO is Prada L'Homme Intense. If it's hard to get your hands on it there on the wrong side of the pond, I would not be surprised if Ross has it.
Thank you for not showing the same sh@t all the time. Seriously, im getting so tired of some of the other channels showing the same stuff all the time so sincerely thank you being different
Just want to add that I like how you've added categories. "Beginner/Intrigued/Enthusiast" definitely adds depth to your videos and makes it feel like I'm getting even more from you as I progress. Great and underrated idea.
Great insight! Valentino Uomo is not discontinued. Now the bottle doesn't have the cheap stopper and the neck has spikes (like in your pic with Intense). Been to Florence in 2018. Cheers!
Dior Homme Parfum is a masterpiece, one of the few fragrances that I have multiple backup bottles of. Masque Milano L'Attessa, Xerjoff Irisss, and Amouage Opus V all deserve mentioning with respect to austere iris/orris. I don't have Serge Lutens Iris Silver Mist but hear it's in the same vein...
Prada Lhomme is one easy iris based fragrance thats office friendly and is more soapy than lipsticky/latexy. Simple doesnt mean boring. This is good but yes this is introductory when ranked. Thanks JC
Dior Homme Parfum is possibly the greatest fragrance ever. Although I do love a lot of other things too this one is amazing and every time I wear it I love it more.
Thanks for the video J. C. It looks like this categorization is here to stay, and I love it. Starting, Intrigued, Enthusiast. My only Iris forward fragrance is Prada L'Homme Intense, and it's one of the most beautiful and most elegant fragrance in my collection. In fact, as BBB would like to put it, THIS IS A LIFER! But I love most of the ones mentioned in the video anyway, and I actually have them in my wishlist, Valentino Uomo, Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Prive, Prada L'Homme, Dior Homme, Dior Homme Intense and Dior Homme Parfum. Thanks for the video sir. Peace!
I have a 2014 edition of Dior Homme, and also have a Dior Homme Original from 2021. They smell almost the same, I can only pinpoint them side by side through the entire day, during the opening and dry down. Both are REALLY good. I tested Dior Homme Parfum and it was so strong that I couldn´t handle it. Found they released a 100ml bottle of it, sampled it and it smells so damn nice, a lot more wearable and actually nicer in a way, bought it on the spot.
These are quickly becoming my favorite of your videos. Since I'm still pretty new to a lot of notes, these are incredibly helpful to help better understand what some of these notes may smell like.
They discontinued the original Valentino Uomo, WHY? I have it. It's very nice. Valentino Uomo Aqua. OK. I'll bookmark it. I like the house of Nobile 1942. I have their Patchouli. wonderful. Dior Homme the original is fantastic. I love it. I have a decant of the Dior Homme Parfum. Another love.
Great video, very interesting picks. I didn't like iris at first, Dior Homme Intense definitely smelled like carrots to me. However, it started to change after I got Prada L'Homme. Then late last year I pulled the trigger on all the iris Dior Hommes. I love them all (although Parfum might take the cake). Now I feel pretty iris saturated, but never say never. Givenchy Gentlemen Reserve Privée intrigues me a lot.
To me, the definitive Iris fragrance is Amouage Interlude Black Iris. It's expensive, but so so luxurious and long lasting, with beast mode performance. Followed by DHP in 2nd place which is also great, but perhaps leans a little bit more feminine imho.
it's funny how you mentioned in the beginning of your video that iris isn't something guys usually reach for. for me it was quite the opposite: once i discovered iris in my fragrance journey a few years ago through valentino uomo intense, i was sold. i love iris, and i own prada l'homme intense and dior homme intense 2020 as well. my favorite among the three is still VUI because of how posh and preppy that iris and leather comes across.
My favorite Iris fragrance is DH Parfum. I also have the DH Intense which is my second favorite. I also have a few from the Givenchy Gentleman line/ Intense edt / EDP and Privee. My favorite of those is the EDP.
Dior Homme Parfum : bought a bottle when I was in Paris at a shopping mall. Went to the airport and said to myself lets see if Dior stand at duty free sells the bottle and they did so I got my second bottle the same day. Amazing stuff. Timeless smell and long lasting on my skin
Iris is a note I have grown to like depending on how it's done... I love Dior Homme Intense.. but Narciso Rodriguez Blue Noir Parfum is just ok to me... same with much of the Givenchy Gentleman line... I like it but I much prefer Dior's approach
I've just yesterday got Dior homme intense and damn, it's really fantastic fragrance. It also has this kind interesting characteristic, because it opens with heavy iris and cocoa liquor smell and gradually becomes more and more fresh, and usually it is the other way around (fresh and then sweet). DHI really is a masterpiece! *edit: I've heard that the 2022 DHI was again reformulated, but this time to smell more like it once was, so try the never batches if you can
My first time with Iris must have been... :) Dior Homme Intense :) Gosh how I hated it :) But the years passed and it grew on me, I've learnt to appreciate it.
I've got to say JC. I really enjoyed the editing on this video. Certainly solid the whole way through. & since I do own a multitude of the frags mentioned in the 📹 I guess that makes me a..... *sticks out chest* Real Man!!!lmao
Prada infusion D Iris is so distant from what’s going on in this list. The scent is more mimicking soap rather than a cologne / fragrance. I own iris cedre which is another flanker of this which is doing the same thing essentially. I like using it after a shower and a shave when I just want to extend that shower feel and especially when I don’t feel like wearing lavender heavy grooming scents. What I get in my opinion is the way you would smell after washing with a white soap and applying an unscented lotion ( I know) if it’s unscented it doesn’t smell. But it really gives off that feeling after you’ve applied it. I use this as a morning scent when I just want to smell clean. Most won’t even recognize your wearing a fragrance. Getting away from the iris in this topic. Prada amber pour homme in my personal opinion does the clean soap a bit better.
I´d like to share another great iris fragrance, which I recently disvoered: "Iris bleu gris" by the French house "Maitre parfumeur et gantier" - a really great, kind of "classic niche"-version of a fresh, green, musculine yet slightly powdery version of the "iris-accord" - a high end version of Dior homme if you like. unique, classy and absolutely wearable.
Prada L'Homme is fantastic, edt and Intense 🔥👌 Love me too the Iris in fragrances. Dior Homme edt and Intense is awesome. Valentino Uomo and Intense i should pick up for my collection. Givenchy Gentleman edp is a lovely power iris. Narciso Rodriguez Parfum is a great alternative to Dior Homme
I have Dior Homme, Valentino Uomo Intense & Gentleman Reserve Prive in my collection. I loooove iris. I need to go check out Dior Homme Parfum, haven't tried it yet.
I am thrilled every time a new video of my favorite series comes up! I appreciate your unique style of fundamental information and the thoughtful composition of your picks - laying out the broad spectrum of different approaches of the given subject and thus opening up the horizon of possibilities and for selfreliable independent further steps. I´d like to draw your attention to a rather small European fragrance house which fits perfectly to this series and might be interesting: it´s "Les Indémodables" from the french alpes. They use the approach of "staring" one core ingredient and letting it shine by "supporting actors". The profile is quite unique and what makes it more special is the very appreciative handling of the ingredients: they use very eleborate ways of maturation and maceration - and not being an expert I do think you can smell that - no synthetic vibe at all. They have f.e. a parfume putting real ambergris in the center, also rose, iris, musc and their own take to fougère or chypre...not exactly cheap but sample sets are available...Just wanting to share this experience here. looking forward to following this series further!
There is something captivating about Prada L’Homme, I didn’t think I’d like it but it’s turned into my most worn fragrance. Perfect for the office or any place where there’s an HR dept haha
You need to get your hands on Iris Nazarena from Aedes de Venustas... Dude really if you are in love from DH original, which I bought on 2005 and first time I bought... I thought I made a mistake but then I wore it and enjoyed it very much.... So if you really love it get your hands on Iris Nazarena its the best iris in the World... Youll get carrotty vibe mixed with what I call an old dusty library, which smells like hidden humidity, books and a lot of old wood embracing all the aroma... Its Just such a fine fragrance, like the most elegant Iris Youll smell... Trust me on this one
I just love this series Justin! I used to like iris heavy perfumes, but for some reason not anymore. Iris as a supportive note on the background, I still do like. But luckaly everybody has his own kind of perfumes he/ she likes to wear. Keep doing these video's sir, because this is such a releave to watch between all those top 10 this and that's.
My favourite iris-forward fragrance is Dior Homme L'eau. Very classy. It will elevate your aura. Great date-night or wedding day fragrance. It's best in spring/summer.
Iris ...now you're speaking my language! Another fantastic video production, Justin. I was surprised you included Ponte Vecchio, as my experience with owning a bottle is that is mostly vetiver, with only a subtle hint of iris. Perhaps we have some batch variations? People call me a niche-snob, which is not really fair, as most niche fragrances ARE better than designer fragrances (better blending, and higher quality ingredients). Of course, there are exceptions to every 'rule'. I have 13 iris-dominant scents, with Iris Empire by Carolina Herrera being my #1 ...followed very closely by 5 others that are equal at #2 (how does that work?). #2a: Cedar Woodpecker by Parle le Moi, #2b: Izmir by Unique'e Luxury, #2c: 2022 Generation Homme by Stephane Humbert Lucas 777, #2d: Valle de la Luna by Fueguia 1833, #2e: Iris Malikhan by Maison Crivelli. These 5, er 6, iris-dominant fragrances are all very different from each other and magical in their own right. I hope one day you can get your nose across them and share in the joy. Cheers! Paul.
Great video and I enjoyed it and I like Prada Lhomme and Givenchy Gentlemen reserve prive and Dior Homme 2021 and I'm going to try the other fragrances and have a blessed day
I wear both Prada L’Homme and Givenchy Gentleman Reseve Privée a lot. I must like Iris. I also like the song ”Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls. When do i get a jazz, trumpet version? 🎺
I believe the only fragrance I have with Iris/Orris is Black Prestigium by Mancera. It's solid, but definitely different. I'll have to check out some of these on your list.
Interesting, while I like the original iris scent, I'm not too keen on the powdery character that the root gives. That is the reason I never liked Dior Homme original. Now in certain formulations, it works very well and I just love it. For example I love Givenchy Gentleman EDP Boise. I think the pepper and geranium helps. All the Valentinos that I smelled has a candy-like sweetness in the dry down that I don't prefer. Have to try the acqua.
I wish DHP was easier to get here. An iris fragrance on my list to get is Iris Malikhan. This was a good list and hopefully, I can come across some of these, as I'm finding that there are a lot of underrated iris-forward fragrances.
I've only tried Prada L'Homme and it wasn't for me. I gifted that to a friend of my son. He loves it. Gentleman Reserve Privee will be the next Iris fragrance I try.
i went into Ulta two weeks ago and tried the reserve privee i thought it smelled nasty and the iris was too strong. i went yesterday and tried it again and man did it hit A LOT different. i’m for sure buying it as well as the edp and edp boisee
I really want to smell the DH parfum..I have DHI (2020) GG reserve Privée and a few other Iris scents. Great stuff but of any profile I find they smell the most similar. I can see my number of Iris bottles staying small as well.
Love my Dior Homme Parfum and Gentlemen Reserve Privee. I had to pick up a backup bottle of Dior Homme Parfum because my first bottle has less than 50% hahaha.
I live in Greece and the only way to get CD's Homme Parfum is through the official site. Believe me when I say that even from there it isn't easy to find it. I saw it available only one time and regretted that I didn't purchase it. This time I've given my e-mail to notify me. . .It will be a blind buy. I hope it's worth it. I adore Xerjoff's Alexandria II, Odyon's Scorpion Intense and Tom Ford's Oud Wood.
Couldn't agree more on Dior homme intense most recent formulation. It's like they've watered it down. Same with Dior homme original. The new version is so weak. Shame because I think it's the best iris smelling fragrance I've smelled
My good sir, you really have to try Aaron Terence Hughes Homme, it’s an amazing Iris(orris) scent that uses the butter that you spoke. Amazing scent, sample it!
I have 9 fragrances that use "iris" as the main ingredient 😁 Dior Homme Parfum, Prada L'Homme (EDT/Intense) and Reserve Privée are the ones i love the most! Curiously enough, I do not have niche fragrances that are iris heavy 😵
I purchase Ponte Vecchio last night based on your presentation in this video. This is why I like your videos. They're not like the same ole, same ole "Top 10" senseless videos .
I don't think Dior Homme Parfum is easy to get in Europe either. I'm in the UK and you can only really get it sold second hand here for a ridiculous price on the likes of eBay. I haven't seen it in a few Cities I've visited in Europe outside the UK either and it doesn't seem to be available readily online on any of the European sites I visit.
As always, my brother Justin, amazing list. I haven't tried all of them but of the ones I have, they're incredible. If you can sample it, I would highly (and I can't emphasize that word enough) recommend Maison Crivelli's Iris Malikhan.
Dude your editing style is getting so much more fine-tuned and I'm all here for it!! Keep it up!
Thank you!
Prada L'Homme is so classy & the Intense version is even better for cooler weather.
Lipstick waxy Iris is my favorite note in all of perfumery. Its so so unique and sexy and smooth. When i smell Iris my brain shuts down.
Is it just me or are his videos getting gradually more hilarious 😅😅
Naw I see it he trying new things with editing to keep us engaged

Iris is one of my favorite notes. I have several of the heavy hitters, DHI, DHP, VUI, Gentlemen EDP, couple others. Just love it.
Givenchy Gentlemen Reserve Prive is definitely one of my favorite colognes so far. Very versatile and never offends anybody. Hands down will always be a staple in my collection. Best display of iris Ive smelled myself. Prada uses iris quite liberally in many of their other scents as well
Reserve Privee is gorgeous, but on my skin it suddenly vanishes after 3 hours. So I passed it on to someone else.

Thank you Berend!
Cheers!
Paul.
im in love withIris Malikhân from MAISON CRIVELLI
Thanks Paul! Iris plays a strong supporting role to my nose, but definitely does not define the scent of PonteVecchio all by itself.
Great video and I enjoyed it and I like Prada Lhomme and Givenchy Gentlemen reserve prive and Dior Homme 2021 and I'm going to try the other fragrances and have a blessed day
Got myself a new frag last week at Perfumania, a new niche house Nysos, Azur, super fresh citrus with a fresh iris, not powdery, but super fresh.
I wear both Prada L’Homme and Givenchy Gentleman Reseve Privée a lot.
I must like Iris.
I also like the song ”Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls.
When do i get a jazz, trumpet version? 🎺
My new favorite Iris is Aaron Terence Hughes Homme. I thought I knew Iris/orris but I was not prepared. Holy crap! (be right back, putting some on)
I believe the only fragrance I have with Iris/Orris is Black Prestigium by Mancera.
Amouage Reflection Man is an amazing Iris/Orris Root fragrance.
Dior Homme Parfum is exquisite. It is one of the few fragrances I actually bought a backup for because it is so good and so hard to find.
I really need to get Dior Homme Parfum! Great choices, Justin.
Lol I love you Justin. Please, never leave out your sense of your humor.
Thank you!
Damn! Iris is #1
I hate it in the beginning of my perfume journey, ngl. But now it's my fav. 😂
I wish DHP was easier to get here. An iris fragrance on my list to get is Iris Malikhan. This was a good list and hopefully, I can come across some of these, as I'm finding that there are a lot of underrated iris-forward fragrances.
Uumo Acqua is good. As is Iris Malikhan.
I've only tried Prada L'Homme and it wasn't for me. I gifted that to a friend of my son. He loves it. Gentleman Reserve Privee will be the next Iris fragrance I try.
Only iris I own Is Givenchy Gentleman Intense always gets compliments.
Valentino Uomo Original is not discontinued in Europe! Widely available...
Lucky
i went into Ulta two weeks ago and tried the reserve privee i thought it smelled nasty and the iris was too strong. i went yesterday and tried it again and man did it hit A LOT different. i’m for sure buying it as well as the edp and edp boisee
Excellent video Sir for more reasons than 4! 👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you!
Valentino Uomo Intense is a really good one...I actually like it better than my Dior Homme Intense...It's more wearable to me..
With you on Reserve Privee and Homme Original, Intense and Parfum. 10/10s.
Iris.....no matter how hard I try I can't get with it. Had Reserve Privé, Gentleman edp and Dior Homme Intense and traded them all.
I ordered it and it is amazing. . .Best blind buy with Odyon's Scorpion Intense.
You can tell he plays jazz. He's jamming in these videos with his editing, use of words, and clips. Cool.
Ha. Thanks Paul.
I have 9 fragrances that use "iris" as the main ingredient 😁
Dior Homme Parfum, Prada L'Homme (EDT/Intense) and Reserve Privée are the ones i love the most!
Curiously enough, I do not have niche fragrances that are iris heavy 😵
Homme by Aaron Terrance Hughes is absolutely stunning oris scent - worth a sniff!
I purchase Ponte Vecchio last night based on your presentation in this video. This is why I like your videos. They're not like the same ole, same ole "Top 10" senseless videos .
Glad you like them!
Yeah. Don't like the Prada L'homme. I'm courious about Valentino Uomo ACQUA. I have to check it
Top 3 fragrance content creator without question
Thanks so much Aaron
As always, my brother Justin, amazing list. I haven't tried all of them but of the ones I have, they're incredible. If you can sample it, I would highly (and I can't emphasize that word enough) recommend Maison Crivelli's Iris Malikhan.
Thank you! I've been hearing about that one more and more.
@@stayfreshproductions My pleasure. I kind of view Iris Malikhan as like a super creamy day time version of DHI. I think you'd fall in love with it.
I really need to get my nose on Dior Homme Parfum soon. I’ve been running through my bottle of Intense like crazy lately.
Ah that probably explains why I find Dior Homme Intense smelling like carrots! I love carrots ❤
Great Intro 😄
