Another good way would be putting your esc onto your steering channel and use the steering trim to hold the throttle forward or reverse for you at a steady speed
@@rcbeginnings6561 I'll be doing that soon on my la trax teton I took it to thw Beach and that little motor does not like sand in it so ill give it 1 2 baths to see if it cleans it out before I buy another motor but besides that I haven't done it in about 2 years since I haven't had a brushed motor rc in quite some time
this water running in was used already in the 1970's. every racingmotor was run in in water. less sparking in collector, brushes will be smooth. after treatment it will handle more power...
If you could I think you should make a video on suspension sag and how to fix it. Because I have a Traxxas slash 2wd and my back skid plate is scraping the ground. I love your videos though.
Most people don’t know how or when to do maintenance on their rc motor. By doing this it would definitely improve it over a much dirtier and non lubed up motor. My proof is all the dirt in the water that was removed from motor. There are other videos doing the same thing that took a squeaky motor and after this was perfect again. Thanks for watching!

How long has that motor been gettimg thattreatmemt. i found over cleaning that motor waers out thw bushing eaxtra fast. had to lube the motor every 5 mins.
I’ve had this car for about 2 months and have done it twice. No problem so far. I have a emaxx that I’ve been doing it to for a long time without problems. Also, a lot of people break in their brushed motor like this
Another good way would be putting your esc onto your steering channel and use the steering trim to hold the throttle forward or reverse for you at a steady speed
Good idea too. Didn’t think about switching the esc channel.

I was dealing with this and just took the springs off and stretched them with my hands and matched the sizes up and put them back on there
This can also be used to repair a dirty motor that isn't working properly
How does this improve the motor in any way? Is there proof to back this up?

@@rcbeginnings6561 100% CORRECT!
I really would like to no the answer 2 that 2 4 real tho😮😮😮
It will for sure shorten the life of the motor he literally washed all the factory lubricants out of it so now it’s going to have bearing failure
U canl use 9v battery also
Will this work on the bl2 s as well or just the stock brushed?
Phillip head screws came on the early models and the cheap models
When you're putting it in the water it doesn't matter which way you put the wires
It’s brushed yes it does matter
Wouldnt rubbing alcohol work better than water?
Alcohol would catch fire im guessing...
Great vid man! Awesome info and shots. New subscriber here!
Thanks Neo RC! Really glad you liked it, lots more coming.
Can you use carb cleaner? 6:39
it damaged it I have fixed it but keep up the work. I think your videos are great(it fritzed out the first run but I have fixed it now)
You can also just blast the motor with brake cleaner too I bet.
Fantastic tutorial!! That is a very good way to break them in!! 👍😎👍
Thanks Poppy!
How old is that slash? Both mine didn't have any of those Phillip screws on them amd they were purchased new about 6 years ago lol
Honestly I have no idea bc I bought it used . My guess is 8-10

Why does everybody use the paper method when you can just get the fixed gear adapters from traxxas that set the gear mesh for you part # 3790
Why would anyone buy that when they can just use a piece of paper?

First thing I do is remove those spacers when doing motor breakins. I have over 25 years in the hobby, I don't even use paper.
Ohhh...yes.
Let me order the special Traxxas pinion paper and wait 4-10 days $$$
Or...
I use normal college ruled paper folded in half.
Does this apply to BRUSHLESS motors as well? (Yes i am a NOOB 😂)
of course
Did you experience any radio frequency issues not wiring the suggested tri bridged capacitors ?
My bad you did install them.
No.. I did not with the suggested capacitors.
maybe a stick and few rubberbands to help hold it in the cup. cool video bud
I like that idea. Thanks for watching!
I tried this and it broke my motor.😢
This shouldn’t break your motor. Companies tell people this method to break in new motors. My guess is that you had a motor going bad
This is awesome
Thanks eggboxx!
Sorry- no way Im putting my motor in water
And that’s completely up to you. People have been doing this for years and most people recommend it to break in a motor
The motor is fine too be submerged in water its the esc that you have too watch out for
just wait til you hear about the crawler guys lmao
URS R PHILIPS HEAD LOL NORMAL SLASH HAS HEX

This can increase the life of the motor and can add speed back to the motor by cleaning it.
What is your suggestion on cleaning motors then?
This is a proper method my guy
I suggest you gather a little more knowledge before flapping you gums and talking sh!t on subjects you clearly know nothing about.
How do you maintain your brushed motor cause every body I know uses this method even the guys at the hobby shop use this method
