The Proton is the smoothest nicest envelope filter I ever tried. I ordered one based on a few videos I saw of it. Cuts back on the "icepick to the forehead" treble harshness a lot of the filters out there can produce.
I FUCKING NEEDED THIS THANK YOU
I just love what you do man keep up! May jerry bless you.
thanks for sharing all this stuff. I appreciate you breaking it all down and letting us hear them in the chain as it goes and then different combos for different sounds. I know pedals and their chains is a whole thing for guitarists, and I'm a newb, so it's great having you break it down for me :) Amazing sound you constructed!
Just in time for Christmas! Getting a new board and needed a vid like this
Love vids like this homie!!!!!
Love the hard work. Built something nice!
Cool video, great work. The sax sound was my favorite
Thanks for this. You're a great player!!!!
Great video, thanks! Just pre-ordered your new course (loved the first one, too!) More Dead lessons in 2024, please.
Pretty cool man. Thx for sharing.
Thank you, Davvy !
Glorious 🎉
This gives me some great ideas for some Christmas gifts! For myself 😁
Outstanding 🎉
Smoking that Shining Star!!!!
Thanks for the pedal walk.
Great stuff right here folks!
I have experimented with every collection of pedals out there and after years of trying, I have achieved Jerry's sound with just 3 pedals listed below. I have found that the Hub Bub Pro along with the Korg ToneWorks AX100G set on Funky and the MXR phase 100 gives you almost an exact match to Jerry's unique underwater sound. I also use the Boss DS-1 pedal to add and soften my tone. I play it thru a Marshall DSL head set on clean channel most of the time but if you dime it out, the ultra gain channel sounds sweet with this combo too, Aloha!
I’m tripping out over that harmony pedal. It’s like Donna in a box 😂
Please make a video on the GK-3 and the Rolland GR 20. Loved it
Seconding this!
Laser noises, that is a pretty damn good description.
I would recommend Analog mans Astro Tone for a real good fuzz before the envelope, it really gives me the jerry tone, and its one of the best pedals ever made imo
Thanks for sharing your secrets!
That guitar synth made me wanna bust on a baggy pastel 80s suit 😂 kidding aside I always appreciate Davvy sharing Jerry’s style and sound with us
happy holidays @ all :)
Youve convinced me to get the milkman! Thanks for the video. Are you using any special IR's?
Thanks for showing us your junk! Very nice!
Did Jerry use a reverb unit called the Tube Works Stereo Spring Reverb? I own one of those, and it’s a pretty awesome reverb unit.
Yeeeees😊
super dope awesome excellent video. Super Size value for the price of free.... can't fucking beat it!
The bird is cooll
Thanks for sharing! No phaser for dear prudence?
Hey now!!!
Hey man what was the pedal that made the Steel Pan sound? I didnt see it in the description. Love your sound!! Great Jerry sounds!!
What is the one called with the wind instrument the breath man wow it sounds 10/10
@Davvy - have you moved on from the Stompunderfoot dire wolf?
I’m gonna send our boy a tutorial video on how to read the hands of a clock.
This is hilarious.
Thanks Davvy! It’s fun to see how you’re making you’re own sounds.
Question about having your envelope filters so deep in the chain. I was under the impression that those worked best closer to the guitar. Thoughts? Why did you choose to put them where they are. They sound great.
Also any noise suppression or hiss reduction in your rig? It sounds super clean.
You always wanna have your modulation effects (octave, envelope filter, delay, reverb) at the very end of your chain. That way your other pedals pass through them instead of your envelope running through the rest of them. And no, no hiss reduction.
@@TobyDavvy one thing I found with having the envelope filter after a distortion pedal is that the distortion can compress the gain envelope and make you lose a little bit of the touch sensitivity on the filter. 3 leaf audio actually made an envelope called the Wonderland that had its own effect loop, so that filter could open up based on how hard you played, but still modulate all the other effects like distortion that were in the effects loop.
Thank you @@TobyDavvy for the response! Appreciate your time and energy! Maybe I'll try placing my envelope filter after the drive just for fun!
Yes, @@kapstersmusic, while I didn't know about the compression of the distortion, it was the touch sensitivity that I was curious about.
@@BrianBowes That's one reason I happen to like the Proton. The gain is super easy to dial to get the desired amount of touch response, even with some overdrive compression. The rest of the controls have lots of good sounds, almost hard to find a bad sound once the gain is set right.
How'd you get the sax sound?
its a roland gk 3 midi pickup going to a roland gr-20 which has a sax patch
Yay I love my sleep paralysis demon's pedal board!
The sleep paralysis wook has such a good pedalboard
i need money XD
I don’t get it 🤔
do u ever acid then go on youtube and now you wanna spend money but really you should go to bed?
