  • A good putt starts with addressing your lie and taking a stance that sets you up for success. Then find your grip, take a few practice swings, and release on target. Hear the 2023 DGPT Player of the Year, Calvin Heimburg, get into the fine details of his putting stroke. Remember that what works best for you might not be exactly what works best for Vinny - “If you want to become the best putter you can be, you need to find the motion that is most replicable for you.” - Calvin Heimburg

    Please don’t ever let Vinny go Innova! Players like Calvin and Barsby make me truly proud to still be throwing Eagles after all these years. There’s only a few players who can put a stamp of legitimacy on your product and he’s definitely one of them.

    Calvin, do you focus at a chain underneath your wrist when your arm is up, or do you cover the basket with your hand/disc and focus on a spot when your arm motion initially goes down?

    On grip: I recently tried the index-finger-placement Calvin is using and have realized that it helps me keep the nose straight in the pop, as before I was having it kinda half under the rim and I got it too high and nose up all the time.. Try it out.

    Calvin is built with efficiency running the program. He waste no energy. His putting style is the biggest example of this. The tone of his voice, the stride when he walks, his attitude of mind all have energy conservation until those peak moments arrive. His drive is also simple and yet so powerful. He is one of the few people I never see slip and can still throw 500+ on a wet tee pad and with those horrible shoes that have no tread! How does he accomplish this? Efficiently.

    I've been trying to imitate the pendulum putt like Calvin but it's not for me because I can't get a good pop at distance. Anyone having trouble might want to check out Andrew Marwede's style too where he reaches way below his legs. He was number one C1 putter I believe. Again not for me though... These days I'm trying spin putting like Simon and it comes out nicely with a little anhyzer. It feels much more natural to me although now I get spitouts when it never was a problem!

      Gateway - pure white or eraser Wizard
      DGA - stone Steady
      Prodigy - 300firm PA-3
      Kastaplast - k3 hard Reko
      Latitude 64 - zero hard Pure
      Stiffer plastic blends will push chains more to enact their designed catching function. In the summer humidity, they offer a more consistent release & flight to the basket.

      @@Jac833I just started putting with the P2 about 2 months ago. I love it and have said it's pretty much the beadless version of the KC Pro Aviar. It doesn't have a lot of glide and will get you to commit fully to all of your putts in order to have a chance at making them

    Sounds simple, but the giant key to his putt is his hand and wrist motion, which he doesn't actually talk about. Shake hands with the basket doesn't describe it. I can't even manage to make the disc fly flat lol Please tell us what your hand is doing 🙏

    • @borreholic7238
      @borreholic7238 Месяц назад

      Yep, with an arm motion that low, the wrist has to have an "more-than-average" bend to it in the middle of the path to achieve that flat flight path (which btw looks gorgeous).

      I been practicing hes putting style for a while now and i gotta say the fingers are giving the disc a nice spin as you pop it up, try to focur more on the fingers popping underneath the disc

    • @Yeah_but...
      @Yeah_but... Месяц назад

      I had a breakthrough last year with my putting. I realized I was popping the wrist and fingers later than I thought. Try popping sooner and see if that helps. I got way more spin and power by just adjusting my timing of the finger pop.
