Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with us! I learn so much from you. To anyone reading this, I've really improved my putting by just putting three times whenever I play a course. This does a lot for you: 1. You get a lot of practice putting cold, and it's your cold performance that counts. 2. You learn to correct bad wind reads, etc.
Excellent content. Three years ago I decided to fix my horrible putting during the winter. I bought 50 putters, analyzed several of the best pro putters, chose Chris Dickerson, and threw 10,000 putts emulating CD. The difference was amazing. Just took a concerted effort every day.
@@EzraAderholdDG Interesting. I just figured that the sport was becoming more popular. Rooting for you, man. Looking forward to watching you win a world championship.
I always try and estimate the distance from basket in my head, like in excat feet. I picture how many steps it wld take to get to the basket. At first when I started this it suprised me how far off I wld be b4 or even after. I walk the putt off after or even b4 every once in a while if no rush, then I wld be like dang I thought I was like 30 ft away so I was putting like I'm at circles edge but then realize that was 23 ft or 40 ft (little extreme). So I go to put and vision me walking to basket like x amount of steps ok thats _ ft. Only takes 5 sec max, but really helped me!
I recently been working on nothing but putting. One thing that actually made a huge difference in my putt was holding the follow through. I actually shake hands with the basket a second longer than I used to and really upped my percentage of made putts.
Ezra this is the best putting tip I've seen so far. I tried this last night. Even though it was pretty cold outside, I could tell a huge difference in the accuracy of my putts. I can't wait to practice this more when the weather gets better. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the 2024 season!
This is pretty much the putt style I use. I got into disc golf during the covid boom and spent a whole week doing putting sessions to figure out the best form for myself that felt natural but still got the distance and accuracy I wanted in my putt. The only thing I do differently is after setting up like you, when I got to bring my hand and putter down I loosen my wrist. This makes it so the putter is the last thing to go down when setting up for the toss/putt and acts like a mini rubber band. By the time the disc has reached the lowest position in your putt form your elbow and bicep and forearm are already lifting up. Sorta guarantees you lead with your elbow and you get a little extra snap action in your putt.
It’s crazy my form is actually identical to yours didn’t do it on purpose but it’s definitely the most effective way for myself personally. Pre setting for me helps alot because it reduces the inconsistency’s when loading and releasing 🤙🏻
Instead of weights, I put a harness on my dog (mini schnauzer, hoping to upgrade to a standard schnauzer eventually) and do putting reps holding him. The wiggling he does really simulates putting during a breezy day. He hates landing in the basket but he loves being outside so I think it's a tradeoff.
I'm excited about this video! Ezra❤ I switched to a spin putt last year and I've really struggled with my form. It's uncomfortable I might reconstruct it 🤘🏼
I’ve found for me, personally, having the wrist pre-cocked and loaded is key for max wrist pop consistency, and then having my elbow IN and less elbow flare is key for accuracy and repeatability. This forces the “pit” of the elbow to face the basket and provide maximum elbow pop forward and keep the disc on line. If my elbow flares to the side at all, it means my elbow “pit” is facing inward and my accuracy starts to fail. It sorta looks more like a Calvin putt, but a spin put… not a push putt.
I’m gonna have to try this preloading out. I have a very similar putting style, I put straight form my belt line, but I have found the farther back I go I start to pull the disc right. I guess I’m thinking I need to add more arm and I’m hold the disc too long….
I've been putting the Gannon way as well it's helped me but I'm still inconsistent. I often say im a 970 thrower but an 800 putter. What do you do with your fingers and wrist? At what point do you release them and are you focusing on your fingers?
The weight tip for practicing was pretty funny, but in seriousness, I do use a 280g training putter for developing the fine muscles for long C2 and beyond putts, so then when I'm actually practicing with my normal discs, they feel like nothing.
That's about as far as I go in calisthenics haha. It is good stuff though, it'd be cool to do more it's just that adding resistance is more efficient typically. Thanks!
Great work Ezra ! I heard a lot of 'hopefullys' in this video...so 'hopefully' in next vid, your verbiage will turn into 'definitlys'! 😉 We have no doubt you will parley your new putting form into more wins this season! 🤛
Practice specific things and expand your bag of tricks. Skip shots, rollers, thumbers, sky annies, grenades, putting upside down, flick annie putt, knee putts, falling putts, dad putts... have something you've worked out for each of these so when it's your only option you at least have a plan.
Ezra these tips are awesome! Got a feeling I’ll be putting in a couple hours on this today! If anyone wants to support a brand new disc golf channel I’d appreciate it!! :)
I have dubbed that move the "Red Rocket." It's when you take a birdogie, flip it over, and give it a not-so-happy ending. It's extra special when you do it on the first or last hole of a tournament. Good times!
Just keep the car parked if you want to film. Minimize distractions on the road. You may think you’re safe, but people die every day from car accidents.
Why are so many youtubers these days filming themselves while driving. Just take a minute and do your speech before you start driving. Would be pretty dumb to get injured in an accident because you're trying to film yourself.
Using your advice, I accidentally threw a 10 lb weight at the gym mirror. Don't worry, per usual, I missed.
Hahahaha

Would love a video of your form to see how identical it is
Ezra, my putt was in absolute shambles and this video saved me. I can enjoy disc golf again. Thank you.
Power DG Academy coach represent! One of my favorite pros is now one of my favorite coaches! Nice Ezra, thanks man!
Clean perfect clear video! Keep it up. Nice!!!
Power Disc Golf Academy is 🤯🔥🔥 your lessons are amazing
Those UDisc stats really show how good the tour has gotten… in just one year. keep up the good work!
Yep. There's just enough money on tour now that everyone wants to try to play as opposed to before where a lot of great players stayed local

Great Advice Ez, cocking the wrist, keeping it in line is so good to proactivly set up your putt.

Good stuff bro. Keep at it with the new form. It's definitely paying off so far this year! Your gonna win 1 this year.
I love my putt when it's not windy, but I putt pretty slow soft so when it's windy I really struggle on the greens!
I love your thinking here!
Now explain how Issac gets away with his arm going way right of target. ??
Kid's good

That hat is 🔥. Ezra has the best style on the tour. How do I get one of those bad boys?
AYY🔥🙌. This an Alter Ego Running hat. I don't run but I like the hats
I do the putting workout with a 55 lb plate. Now my birdies turned into quad bogies

Instantly more power with the pre-tuck'd wrist.
Having discraft as a sponsor helps too. Every one of there putters come out clean and consistent for me.
I putt like burr from 40 50ft reaching More left but from 30 I putt just like you now going to straddle if I lose confidence in c1 during a round
I preset wrist and elbow and he my using my lower body for wind up. Alota times I hit my knee with my elbow
Straight line is the single most useful tip in all aspects of disc golf form
100%, straight line + full extension + a committed release. Goes for forehands, backhands, and putts.
That was the best ending 😂
If you play the ending long enough the 9 min video turns into an hour. Thanks for the putting tips keep it up Ezra!!
in the morning, wheat likes to eat some shredded Ezra

Please say you coming to Estonia in July 2024!? 🙃
Planning on it!
