I became a Baltimore Colts fan after sseing them on tv against the Cleveland Browns in the 1964 NFL championship game for the 1st time. It was those blue jerseys and the horseshoe on those white helmets that captured me. I was only 7 then. When rhe Colts sneakily moved those Mayflower trucks in the night to Indianapolis, I disowned the Colts. It broke my heart. Johnny Unitas was the Greatest. I became an official 49ers fan after that move in 1983.

Looking back on this game, it is amazing how many hall of famers on both sides (Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, Ray Lewis, Jonathan Ogden) were in their prime. I was born the year after the Colts left Baltimore (1985) so I don't really have the memories of the Colts. However, I know that this was one of the most important wins in Ravens history. They had to exorcise the demons of the past.

Not just that, contractual issues added with the fact Faulk was 26 at this time, and running backs who carry a heavy load early in their careers end up falling off rapidly due to the toll of the position, Indy was already losing a lot; and since they went 3-13 under Peyton they had another draft slot to get another running back. The Ravens have literally for their ENTIRE EXISTENCE never been able to have an semblance of a working offense. It's nuts. Even now, they have Lamar and they give him ZERO weapons. The fact they've won as much as they have because of defense alone is insane

Lol, you mean even when they were the Cleveland Browns? That's still part of their existence, even though they left Cleveland with the Browns history and team name. The new team out of all of this is the NEW Cleveland Browns even though they have the recycled history and name from the Ravens. They will always be the new team aka new Browns and the Ravens will always be the old Browns lol.
