    So refreshing!!!!
A very precise, yet profoundly warmhearted rendition of this immortal, early-and-enthusiastic Beethoven work! Opus 5 is just so rewarding and has found grateful hands in the present video!
Correct instruments a true bonus - treated accordingly, makes it a true highlight!!

This is wonderful. I heard this in a concert at the Frederick Collection. The piano used was a Casper Katholnig from around 1805-1810.

I agree. Hearing and playing the music on the correct instruments makes a world of difference. There is actually a dialog between the two instruments. The balance is so much better with the piano not overpowering the duet.

It seems that the cello is modern. So the performance is a bit of a modern and period instrument fusion.
