Ola Gjeilo, seja feliz e viva muuuuito ❤️☮️🌹
So beautiful, it's just staggering. Touched my heart deeply.l Thank you for sharing this amazing live performance. I will be buying the album PIANO IMPROVISATIONS, btw!
you are such an inspiration to me as I improvise on all types of hymns prior to each Mass I play....I know where you are as I watch you...I get there too sometimes and it is extraordinary! Your music is heaven on earth....
i love your music i love classical and you are up their with all my classical favorites i just cant get enough you are brilliant pianist theirs pianist and theirs you you play it from the heart its not some song sheet it is direct from the heart i can hear every note and the story
I love this improvisation! I always come back to listen, as it brings me great peace. It is incredible how much emotion Gjeilo can pour out through the piano. And the recording is wonderful, as is everything from Morten Lindberg, but I can't help but wonder why this was not released as a high resolution track... RUclips compresses their audio significantly, and it is truly a shame.
I was right there with you until you jerked me out and changed storylines. Then I read your explanation of what you were doing, which was showing different styles found on different pieces. Improvisation is what I play only now at this period of my life. As a retired keyboardist/vocalist with a burnt out voice I no longer had lyrics to tell the story. Piano alone had to create that picture the lyrics used to. I search through other pianists to find people who don't just try to show off technique but say nothing. Thank you for your music.
"I search through other pianists to find people who don't just try to show off technique but say nothing..." AMEN to that! Too much displayed virtuosity gives me ear fatigue.
I agree. There are strong links between what Ola Gjeilo and Keith Jarrett do when improvising -- the melodic elements, the rhythmic patterns, the dynamic phrasing, the way pauses are used, not for dramatic effect but to allow the music to "sink in" to the listener -- and the performer. What is paticularly fascinating is that Gjeilo, who says that (like all good improvisers) he draws energy and inspiration from his audience, can still sit down all by himself and create something that resonates with an audience he cannot see, whose identities he will never know. Remarkable talent!
Good way to develop one's aural and notating skills is to transcribe it - trust me - you'll have less hair but you will have grown in other ways! Have fun - and give it a go.
It is the first time I've heard Mr. Gjeilo playing something so "jazzy". Beautiful!
Keith et Erik vous écoutent discrètement et . . . . . ils aiment beaucoup , bien sur ! ! . Amicalement
Ola Gjeilo is the Grieg of the 21st century. His improvisations are amazing
He's far better than Grieg.

um gênio...descobri ele a 1 semana, grata surpresa
You are able to show how we can link with a piano and it becomes our voice, unique and from the heart.
Gifted from Heaven. Truly.

just fantastic... location, artist, recording setup
This is great stuff and the Improvisations album is very nice. I was a bit disappointed that the tune at 2:51 is not on the album though...
Absolutely incredible....so evocative.

This is the Keith Jarrett from Bærum! Fantastic!

Magnificent
it reminds me of the koln concert by KJ of course
супер.
好好聽
still Ubi Caritas is is the most beautiful!
Anyone knows where we can get the sheet music for this? ❤
It's improv, there was never sheet music in the first place.
