Thanks for the video, I'm a big guy and I'm looking at building this exact combo. I'm glad to see someone has built it before and thanks for the tidbit on which hub length to use!

@@y_rush4439 I’ve got a seatpost shim coming tomorrow. Just gotta get my seat post from slipping and then I’ll feel comfortable starting the disassembly and then assembly.
Hi Johnny. Awesome video. I have a Dolomite exactly like that one. I loved what you did. Can I get a parts list for this transformation. Plus the best place to buy parts. Thanks
Yes. However I personally don’t recommend dual motors as they are very inefficient. Best to dial in a mid drive to get the power you need in most cases.
with the 120 bbshd on a 110bb do i need to put spacers on both sides or just the left side or does it just depend on the way the chain lines up. this is for a schwinn biggity with 110bb. cheers trevor
Possibly both sides. Get the motor as close to the frame as possible without hitting it using spacers and then use spacers on the non drive side as needed
how does the 120mm bracket adapt to the 100mm frame. Is it sound? I'm a noobie and i'm replacing the hubs and cranks on my Dolomite...not an easy task sourcing parts i might add!?!?
You will just need some spacers. You can find them on my site johnnynerdout.com The new mid drive will come with new crank arms so don’t worry about buying new ones.
I like this setup but i do a pot of riding on the beach. Would this be a good way to go, or should i avoid putting the motor right there where lots of sand and maybe occasionally some ocean water will splash up there?
I'm upgrading the same Dolomite with the same kit, but I ordered it with a 46t chainring; I'm strarting to wonder if the 46t is too big to clear the frame. The kit isn't here yet, do I need to go smaller like 36t?
Before you convert one of these make sure the rear wheel & hub looks good. I got one of these and the rear hub was all wobbly. Causing the disc rotor and freewheel to wobble as well. It was hard to tell what was wrong but i took the hub apart and the cones didn’t look true, they wobbled when rotating the axle. The cones had pitting on both sides after barely any use. The rear hub was barely greased. Even after wrenching at it a while i couldn’t find a way to make it work ; something was just mechanically unsound. The bike seems like a maintenance nightmare; I’m going to return it..
Hi, I just brought the mongoose malus, and would like to have it customized like the the e-bike.. What parts, should I buy, that you recommend? I would like to purchase the parts from Amazon, if possible. I then plan to take the bike,to my, local bike shop . I also read that the Dolomite, and Malus, share similar builds, and features.
Hey Johnny. I'm doing the same build. On the bottom bracket how did you do the spacers? The motor mount needs to bite into the frame, correct? And spacers on the chain side would screw up the chain line I think... Also, what size chain did you use for the 46 tooth chainring?
Thanks for your reply. I'm looking for a 36t chainring now. Should I use washers instead of the spacer nut that goes on the motor mount hex bolt? That would be the only way to put the mount on before the bottom bracket spacers...

Bbshd tend to last longer due to how they are built. But a bbs02 will last forever too if you just always make sure you're in the right gear and don't overheat it.
Hi, Johnny. What chain ring did you use? Do you remember? I think the stock is a 46T. How did the chain line work out with whatever chain ring you used.
Yes I believe it is the 46t. Chainline is good. Just need to put spacers on both sides of bottom bracket so that the chainring is centered on the cassette if that makes sense.
