Too bad these don't have a high ceiling. Just saw a grip of blasters & mega boxes at Barnes & Noble. They also had '22 Playbook FB w/guaranteed auto or memorabilia. Packman - any idea what the ratio is of autos to memos? (Memo meaning cut up jersey from the discount rack lol). Grear looking box though. Thx
Just left my LCS w/8 hobby packs incl a '23 Bowman Jumbo, & 1 blaster (Bowman '23) - yes I have a problem lol. Dude was telling me his fav design is Panini Capstone but I couldnt do it cuz as a jersey/swag lover I need team logos on my cards. Dude also recommended Panini Elite baseball w/1 auto per pack. Not bad for only $10/pk, just wish they were licensed cuz I'd love to buy Optic baseball w/team logos (especially w/City Connect unis!) They were selling packs of '21 Spectra NFL at $420/pk... I wish I could engage that box !
It's the challenge of trying to get back into the hobby after being out of it for 20 years. The market is so saturated with junk its hard to know where to start outside of buying singles.
That’s right! I forgot you used to get 1 memorabilia card in every box.. Prizm retail is just inferior, I do like the Pink Ice parallels in the Walmart megas but that’s it.
I'm no fan of Panini - especially their designs and NON-game worn 'memorabilia' cards but...if they put rare inserts in all packs, they wouldnt be rare & we'd complain those pulls aren't worth anything. Ppl play scratchers at $50 a pop and rarely win. At least w/sports cards i donate my opened packs to my friends' kids who can learn names, jerseys and geography. I'll stick to Topps/Bowman & Upper Deck. Pulled a 1st Bowman Prospect Auto #'d /99 & a 1st Prospect parallel #'d /299 from a blaster. Not to mention the Chrome inserts are gorgeous/clean w/a chance of pulling an auto/parallel version. Those white auto boxes are horrible. UD SP uses gold pens against tough backgrounds. Why only blue pens w/Panini? Even Upper Deck SP's patch cards are game-worn and SP is retail only! Also - if u don't like retail, take that $30 and put it towards a hobby pack where at least u stand a chance of a big hit. Thx Pack!
News flash prism has always been garbage but I guess you guys need someone like Pac-Man to explain that to you. I bought this stuff before all you guys came in and this was always a garbage product.
I feel like the decline of retail product is the direct result of trading quality for availability. The more people who want to buy retail, the more cards need to be printed so we can avoid fistfights and shootouts. It's sad, yes. For those saying that Fanatics will improve things, remember that Fanatics gave us the Topps series 1 retail fiasco.
Target had PRIZM Mega Boxes. I got one...I won't get another. It was awful. Best card in the box was a base Red Ice Luka. Like what a $2-4 card? Was disgusted
The more base cards you see piled up the more money Panini is raking in!!! I can't wait until Fanatics takes over with their new ideas, new printers!! They know we want on card autos, low numbered cards, I wouldn't mind having a small numbered sets where even the base are good, like having every card be numbered!
None of the Prizm blasters are worth it at the retail price anymore. Especially since MJ Holding charges $35 for Prizm blasters at Walmart. They were pushing it last year with the $30 price tag.
I bought a Prizim Mega box and a Contenders blaster yesterday. Pulled a Paolo Red Ice, Jalen Williams Silver, Walker Kessler Red ice, and a Paolo Mem card out of the Contenders blaster. I know I got super lucky and will never have a retail rip like that again. 🤣
i see every retail product now that used to come with 1 hit per box in the last few years have now no hits guaranteed. wish if u paid $35 for a blaster or more ud get at least 1 hit per box
In my opinion, I think the market has been flooded with most cards and the way for panini to add value in hobby boxes is take away from retail. I think it's the obvious thing to do. Hobby boxes are too expensive for the average young collector. I don't like how panini takes away from the retail experience for the average joe, but, what else can panini do?
It's pretty obvious that Panini are just trying to make as much profit as they can before they finish up. Less parallels = cheaper to make therefore more profit. Less retail formats = less packaging costs therefore more profit. Both of these factors also lead to less production costs as well. But no use complaining if we still go out and buy their product anyway.
I bought a pack this morning an didn’t really pull anything . My cousin pulled a Lofton Jr ice is about All .. to see you open 6 boxes an not pull a dam thing that’s tuff . Thanks for the review
I got a mega box a few days ago and had the same thoughts, no solid pulls, definitely not worth it! Retail getting more and more watered down as time goes on. Love the videos, keep up the good work!
Dude… I’ve ripped 3 blasters and 2 Megas. Best card I got was a Johnny Davis red cracked ice. I believe out of the same box, I got a Tatum Green “Dominance” which I’m only happy about, because of how much I love the Celtics.
Subjectively green is one of the worst colors for parallels too. It looks good with some team colors but *rarely* do I see a green parallel card and think "damn that looks good" like I do with other colors.
To me it's all about the print runs. When they made less prizm, the silvers and greens were worth something! The fact that silvers are just a complete afterthought now is 100% because they print so damn much that even the top rookie silvers are worth like $10. I remember hunting for Zion silvers and cracked ices in the hangers. It was a totally different experience!
that was BRUTAL! a few nice hits but MAYBE 30-50 bucks ROI, it was funny i just came over from a bowman blaster box video and was thinking the same thing 10 seconds before you mentioned it, this might be one of the worst products i've seen for retail in recent memory outside of topps chrome last year with all the mess ups with the big rookies and what not. thanks for taking the hit on this one dude.
Your are spot on with your review bud, they need to bring back everything that was in these 2 years ago with the same pricing! Very disappointing this year
The other day i bought 5 blasters and a megabox. In my first PACK i got a silver paolo and a base jalen williams. Thru the rest of the opening (29 packs & 6 mega packs) the only card i even sleeved was a silver walker kessler….. absolutely brutal
I opened a prizm mega box from target. I didnt get 5 dollars back in cards. I dont do it for the value but still like cmon. They keep raising the price of these retails boxes and lowering the chances of pulling anything decent
I highly recommend that everybody stops buying retail products and just buys singles of players you want to collect! The market is near bottom and your best to just save your money and wait for the full fanatics takeover, which should happen in the next year or so..
i recently came to that conclusion too, i buy retail packs that are the only things available in my town, and i’ll spend around $100-200 and get nothing good, I rather just buy the card I want for the same price than spend that much and get nothing
I’m officially done as well. I got two blasters as a sample, and I am walking away from it while I’m ahead. Got a few nice cards, and I will be sticking to buying singles now.
Blasters are fun to open sometimes but I am done wasting my money on junk its just not worth it to have piles of base cards, I just got back into the hobby 4 1/2 months ago and I bought the last 6 packs of a Hobby box of Optic, I hit a Gold Scottie Barnes #4 of /10 his Jersey number Gold Rookie auto and I was hooked and I bought a box of Mosaic and hit a Gold Trae Young and sent it in for Grading and got a PSA 10 on it sold it for the cost of the box I may regret selling it but gave a new buddy on a NBA Basketball page that I made from posting the hit and he bugged me, not really bugged me but wanted it for months as I got it graded and he has a TON of Trae Young's so it went to a fan of Trae. Panini is done printing cards soon and so they are going to print off as many base cards as they can!!! But I learned so much in these almost 5 months! Best thing to do is play the breaks sometimes and try to pull a hit or save up and buy the card thats already graded in these Facebook groups from a reputable person, best deals Ive seen hands down! Make friends in the groups and you'll get some great deals!!
Prizm retail has gone to trash in football, baseball & basketball the last few years. A lot of money n a tiny chance for a parallel hit. Last years cellos were great but that was short lived …thanks for sharing 👊✌️
Thanks for the vid! I waited for this to arrive at my local WM, and it was brutal. The megas aren't any better. A few megas and blasters later, outside of some PC cards, best hit (probably case hit) was a Terance Mann auto. DO NOT BUY!!!
Prizm Football was 100x better, rpas, red checkerboard, red and blue prizms, but even then, they mashed everything together into the blasters and removed every other format
I almost bought a few of these out of boredom. Nothing good to rip as far retail goes these days. I’m kinda glad to see the shelves being over stocked since they were chasing us out of stores and enforcing limits.
What boxes are worth the money? I heard you mention Bowman baseball but what about for football and basketball? Optic? Monopoly Prizm? I’m a new collector trying to learn.
I’m not a fan of any football or basketball retail value wise atm. There are some cheaper hobby boxes in both sports that could have better potential and a decent ceiling that I’d choose over the same $ in retail (if you look at this years hobby boxes, there are some in the low $100 to $200 range that are decent slept on sets)
I haven't collected cards since I was a kid but watching these makes me want to get back into it. I have a question though. What happens with all of the regular cards that you get? You must have stacks and stacks of these cards that aren't worth anything. What happens to them? Just wondering if they get trashed or go to somewhere else.
These are literally the biggest waste of money I’ve ever seen lol. The “Chase” card is worth the cost of like 2 blasters 😂. At least Prizm football has the red and/or blue SSPs to chase 🤷🏻♂️
I really don’t get why panini just makes a few numbered retail exclusive parallels. It’s not like they’re worried about watering down the cards considering they already add a bunch of parallels
Bought two megas and got almost every good rookie abd a paoulo pink cracked ice. So is there any reason to buy anymore? Can’t get too much better than that from what I’ve seen
Thanks for the review! I got 2 of these off target and they were about the same as yours as far as returns. This is horrific wont be buying anymore Bowman blasters for the same price over this all day everyday! Prizm basketball retail is the baseball equivalent of 2023 topps series 1 retail but actually might be even slightly worse than that.
For the life of me I do not understand why they would wast their time printing all of this stuff and not put some good parallels in them! It blows my mind why even waste the time to print them?
Can someone explain to me like the rarities. Cuz I pulled like a dominance and an impact card and I don't know how much better they are than normal cards
Only retail I truly enjoy opening these days is Topps update mlb and maybe some chronicles (all sports) retail to stack up some rc’s…after that it’s basically a waste of money…unless ur buying retail to just hold onto and resell somewhere down the road

Do everyone a favor and call Prizm boxes "shrapnel packs". The metallic cards look like a bomb went off when opened, and are about as valuable.
Bro, you told us it would be bad when you said “still available at Target”.

Just left my LCS w/8 hobby packs incl a '23 Bowman Jumbo, & 1 blaster (Bowman '23) - yes I have a problem lol.

They were selling packs of '21 Spectra NFL at $420/pk... I wish I could engage that box !
Never had real good luck. Maybe some coloured prizms that’s it.
You know its a terrible product when you see Packman this sad/angry/frustrated... :(
It's the challenge of trying to get back into the hobby after being out of it for 20 years. The market is so saturated with junk its hard to know where to start outside of buying singles.
im really worried that my PC will be worthless in the future. too many high end boxes with low numbered cards and RPAs
That’s right! I forgot you used to get 1 memorabilia card in every box.. Prizm retail is just inferior, I do like the Pink Ice parallels in the Walmart megas but that’s it.
It’s too expensive for being this bad
Yeah
They're 35$ over here smh
News flash prism has always been garbage but I guess you guys need someone like Pac-Man to explain that to you. I bought this stuff before all you guys came in and this was always a garbage product.
I stop getting It. I’m a retail hunter the best boxes I’ve seen so far is baseball Topps and select everything else has been ass lowkey
Also best thing is hangers get the same shit
there are still stores with last years prizm on the shelf lol.
Broo I just ordered one and I saw the pain of you opening the boxes and now I am kind of mad
😡
I feel like the decline of retail product is the direct result of trading quality for availability. For those saying that Fanatics will improve things, remember that Fanatics gave us the Topps series 1 retail fiasco.
For retail buyers what basketball line would you recommend to buy to have a chance to pull rare stuff?
So glad you saved me from buying these trash boxes, they retail $65-95 in Australia
I used to have fun picking up a couple blasters for each sport of prizm, but it's brutal and I'm not doing it anymore.
Any company that sells cards should have to post print runs and odds on the boxes
Target had PRIZM Mega Boxes. I got one...I won't get another. It was awful. Best card in the box was a base Red Ice Luka. Like what a $2-4 card? Was disgusted

If ur gonna charge me $30 but u have the “chasers” then ok, we cool…..if ur gonna charge me $30 AND u smack me with 75% base then we have a problem
Seeing this makes me appreciate Monopoly Prizm even more 😂
I bought a pack this morning an didn’t really pull anything . My cousin pulled a Lofton Jr ice is about All .. to see you open 6 boxes an not pull a dam thing that’s tuff . Thanks for the review

Subjectively green is one of the worst colors for parallels too. It looks good with some team colors but *rarely* do I see a green parallel card and think "damn that looks good" like I do with other colors.

A Rookie Paolo Red Ice is still about $40-$65!
@@everythingcollectibles for now because it's new and hot... I bet that changes a year from now, even if Paolo is still doing great!

it will be interesting with hobby prices come down, if retail ever goes back to 20$; or maybe settle at 25$.

Good luck!
@@DadStrength81 :(
I've bought one blaster box and pull a green pulsar.. it was a fire box actually 3 ice, 3 silver, 1 global reach, 1 green and 1 green pulsar
Congrats!!!
Thanks! Pulsar was a rookie too!...Unfortunately not a player I've ever heard of lol (Ousmane Dieng from OKC) but hey ill still take it!
Thanks PAC! Another product I will not waste my money on
Any recommendations of 22-23 brands to give a try? Basketball
Seen this video unfortunately too late.. yet still thanks for the reviews!
I’m officially done as well. I got two blasters as a sample, and I am walking away from it while I’m ahead. Got a few nice cards, and I will be sticking to buying singles now.

I picked up 3 of the 2021 prizm basketball repacks at Walmart. Zion silver, LaMelo RC and 2 RC autos.
3 mega boxes of 22/23 basketball. Nothing.

Prizm Football was 100x better, rpas, red checkerboard, red and blue prizms, but even then, they mashed everything together into the blasters and removed every other format
I did alright out of the blaster i bought got the silver Paolo rc
So what is worth buying from the 22 23 basketball
I’m starting out collecting cards. What is the best brand to buy ?
I almost bought a few of these out of boredom. Nothing good to rip as far retail goes these days. I’m kinda glad to see the shelves being over stocked since they were chasing us out of stores and enforcing limits.
What about nba hoops??
All retail has gotten bad, just opened 4 mega boxes of playbook football and not one hit, nothing numbered and several doubles within a box
SMH!
What boxes are worth the money? I heard you mention Bowman baseball but what about for football and basketball? Optic? Monopoly Prizm? I’m a new collector trying to learn.

eBay
Are cracked ice worth anything guys i have two from my pack thanks Matthew
I have a Jaden Ivey 19/25 green pulsar auto.... is that worth anything?
These are literally the biggest waste of money I’ve ever seen lol. The “Chase” card is worth the cost of like 2 blasters 😂. At least Prizm football has the red and/or blue SSPs to chase 🤷🏻♂️
Wish you did this review before I bought a few blasters 😂 I agree they did get worse. 🤦🏽♂️
I bought a big box of.prizm
What should I look out for I know nothing of there value.
Anyone I got some red ones in the packs mostly silver
I really don’t get why panini just makes a few numbered retail exclusive parallels. It’s not like they’re worried about watering down the cards considering they already add a bunch of parallels
Yea either that or just give chances at hobby stuff like Topps does
i wish they wouldve replaced the 75th blues with some sort of paralell to chase, the blues were fun to chase for to me
Panini has to stop printing sooooooo much. It makes it impossible to pull a 🔥 card. Thanks for the rip anyways Pack
Bought two megas and got almost every good rookie abd a paoulo pink cracked ice. So is there any reason to buy anymore? Can’t get too much better than that from what I’ve seen
Pulled a green pulsar brilliance paolo from retail draft picks. Any advice on the comp for that card?
Yeah I am with you, I will never buy these blasters again. I got a few boxes and it was all trash
I pulled a green Zion out of one of these boxes is it worth anything
And that's the reason I stopped buying Panini. Waiting for fanatics until I start buying again.
I just got into this hobby love basketball so thought it would be fun but If not these which boxes do I look into buying?
Glad you reviewed this product again, was just about to buy 4 of them, now my mind is made lol
Bought two mega boxes … won’t be doing that again lol
I pulled a LeBron Green Laser /25 out of a blaster box last night
Congrats!!! 🤯🔥
I have a feeling that the factory employees are swiping on some of the big hits!!!
Panini should only put veterans if its an auto and game worn patches. Not Mehmet Okur auto though 😂
For the life of me I do not understand why they would wast their time printing all of this stuff and not put some good parallels in them! It blows my mind why even waste the time to print them?
These are still great , nothing beats optic blasters this year , flux this year worst of worst of worst
Can someone explain to me like the rarities. Cuz I pulled like a dominance and an impact card and I don't know how much better they are than normal cards
Make sure you use the recycling bin when your done lmao😂😂😂
Mannnn, this must have been tough to rip through after all those 🔥 Optic FOTL cases 😂
Night and day 😂
23 Prizm WWE blasters are bangin! 2 diff stores and i pulled 2 pulsar autos and a Mr. T pulsar!!
Love Prizm, but haven’t bought any in a couple years. Football or basketball. Too much for little to no return. Thanks for sharing!
What about the rookies?
Could you go hunting for Dbook,Giannis,KD,Harden,Westbrook, lamelo, lonzo ball
I will spend my 30 dollars buying singles. Thanks for sharing.
This would be 209 at my walmart in SC. They are 34.95 a piece lmao. I wish retail had better products
Monopoly is the retail set to buy this year. High ceiling for almost the same price.
Panini graped me
Where do you even find them? I’ve checked EVERYWHERE and can’t find them. Guess someone is scalping them
We laughed at Monopoly Prizm, but little did we know it’d be more fun than regular retail prizm products. Too overpriced for what you get.
I got a box at Walmart last night and so many of the cards are bent.
Hate to see it!
“I mean, this is zero dollars in cards here”😂
i got 5 mega boxes and didnt do any better my only red ice rookie was scottie pippen jr
I was about to buy a box, you saved me 😂 thank you
Can you show all the Allen Iverson cards you have if you have any?
Ouch man. I bought one today and I got lucky pulled a keegan Murray silver holo❤❤❤❤
🔥🔥🔥
Only retail I truly enjoy opening these days is Topps update mlb and maybe some chronicles (all sports) retail to stack up some rc’s…after that it’s basically a waste of money…unless ur buying retail to just hold onto and resell somewhere down the road
2022 Topps Update is the only retail product ive opened in the past 2 years that felt like it was worth it.
What would you say are the best packs to buy if starting out? I saw a few posts online saying prizm but seeing this I'll stay away 😂
Just pulled a green Paolo rc out of one of these!
Packman love you man!
Great review and I think you have it figured out...there is not value in prizm retail at the current price point. Way over produced and over-priced☹️
❤️❤️❤️
perfect example in this video.
donruss and optic are usually the same exact cards just the product symbol is the difference.
I just bought this as my first ever basketball card product and didn’t realise it was gonna be bad 😢😭
Worst set for hobby boxes is donruss elite imo. Don’t get why so many cards in that box but only 1 hit per pack out of like 10 cards
Love the honesty.
