Love this! So many new techniques to try. I especially like the carved mountboard and all the layers you have added. The font technique was an inspiration too - definitely going to try that one. I discovered your channel this morning - new subscriber. Keep up the good work!
This is the most useful art gcse video I have ever seen please do more like seriously I have watched so many of these how I got a 9 in art videos they just go on and on about their work but you show us how to do thing I have also cjose patterns as my theme and nobody does videos related to this thank god I found your channel this is soo useful . Once again thank you soo much.
@@TomQuigleyArt hi are there any alternatives for the ink in the bubble technique as I tried acrylic paint but unfortunately, the bubbles were plain and didn't have colour so the transfer to paper wasn't in colour and didn't work.
Helen Wells is one of my favorite artist. After watching your demonstration, I became a fan of your art, as well!!! Thank you so much, Tom. I’ll be following you … I’m excited to try these techniques. 🤗❤️🙋
I've been loving Helen's book Expressive Sketchbooks. The one page sketchbook is wonderful. I've been painting in a similar organic flow with repeating shapes this afternoon when your video came up into my youtube feed. I love when just the right video pops up like magic! Thanks for sharing these techniques, Tom! 🎨🍀
Great video thanks! I’ve just don’t one of Helen Wells’ classes which she offers on line - she’s a lovely teacher! Thanks for showing the bubble technique especially . I once did the string technique with black ink …. Very dramatic!
Just stumbled across your videos today and am flagging so many to come back to and try. You're inspiring me! Your techniques are budget friendly and FREAKING AWESOME!
I have been exploring H Wells work for a few years now and never quite found the right way to break it down for students. This is amazing. Thank you so much and long may your tutorials continue......love them!
Thank you for the video. 🙂 The bubbles in the opening images made me think of the time I added a few drops of shimmering ink to an almost empty bottle of foam soap. The results both before they were allowed to pop naturally and after they had popped into the Yupo paper were beautiful.
Hi Tom, quite an unexplored technique and process i.e. applying white acrylic then cutting away the layer of paper to manipulate colour absorption of the wet medium to create tonal variety. I was quite blown away by its simplicity yet profound effect. I have usually resorted to layers of alcohol inks and combining textural elements by drawing with Posca pens or black fine liner as the final step. But your method is certainly more cost effect when working with my own students. Thank you! Well worth the subscription 👌🏾
Discovered your videos via Jacksons art suppliers blog. ~Binged watched and all were so fab. Discovered an affinity with art by Helen Well who I never come across. Thanks so much
Cheers Jenny, what was it saying on the blog about me? I cant remember having an interview with them. unless it was just showing my work on the longlist of the Jackson art prize. Thanks for watching, I'm glad your enjoying them
Just came across your channel and learnt a lot of new things. Please let me know what kind of paper you are using to carve into it and peel off. Thanks.
Lol I've been punked😏...I was just saying on the last two videos I watched that I cant feel safe with ink🌋 🤯😯😱🤦♀️even tho I really enjoy watching your you used of ink in your design....then this video came up thanks for the smile....blessing to your art work and be safe in your journeys today....🎨👩🎨🤓
Hi Tom. Love your channel. You explain things very well. Sorry, But I can't figure out exactly what that mountboard is. Is it made especially for carving/cutting out designs that are then peeled off?
Great tutorial - can you explain the Mount board that you used - I tried it, did an intricate design, but the inks soaked into the top layer and under layer. I live in the states, so it might not have the same name here
Thanks for commenting and watching. Did you seal the mount board first? You can do this with primer used for priming canvas, hopefully this should solve the problem.
Hey Tom. Great techniques, thank you. Good video too. Wondering what type printer you use for printing copies of your screen shots, laser or inkjet? And which type of copy is best for most collage applications. I've been going to the copy shop and I using those laser copies of images for directly adhering and for gel transfers. I'm about to purchase a printer to save trips to the copy shop and uncertain if I should get laser or inkjet.
Hi Tom, I've been binging your videos! I wondered what ink you used. The description says brusho. If you mixed the crystals, what was the ratio of water to brusho? Cheers :)
Thank you so much Makes great fun, to look at your work-process, with your many tips and tricks! Please what is the name of the Artist? Have not understand :)
It wasn’t a particular artist but any natural/organic form artist on Pinterest would fit with this project. Thank you again, I really appreciate you watching them👍🏻

You can print your titles on tissue paper. If you adhere it with a matte medium, the tissue becomes nearly transparent.

The great thing about brusho is you can dilute it with as much or little water, depending on the intensity you are after 👍🏻

I think both of my art teachers have a crush on you 👀
You must teach in a filthy rich district. I have taught in many public schools and have never seen an art room that super duper.
