Fun facts about the purple npc invader hodrick:
1. The flamberge he uses is amoung the rarest weapons in the game, with a tiny drop rate from the little guys that use them, of which only a handful are even in the game.
2. The zweihander itself has a much higher motion value on its WA L2 attack
3. Hodrick has a slight bug with his scaling in NG+ interactions, almost always being a one shot if hit with the WA or a parry (which he is very good at getting)
4. He is cringe and an asshole
5. Incredibly weak to gravity

You can put the sword in it's sheathe and keep it on your character by two-handing your bare hands on the left side. Triangle and L1 or Y and Left Bumper
actually its tap for main hand hold for off hand in dark souls games.

Been playing Elden Ring for so long I had forgotten how much I love Dark Souls’ world.

You're mistaken. Pvp on this game godsend no overtuned damage. No op build unless someone is running naked glass cannon that usually dies in few hits.
Low level invasion might packed with twink. Open yourself for an invasion at level 40 or 55 is the sweet spot for relaxing pvp. The sweats is mostly In level 133 or 150
If you equip the Caestus it will make the effect of sheeting your sword and make it more cinematic
I didn't know you could kill the Curse Rotted Greatwood before the ground caves in.
If JF reads this the ithryll short swrod is actually really broken, i shit you not if its upgraded the frost build-up will nearly 1 shot everything (except dlc enemies)

That's also what i love about old souls games is how difficult they actually are.
Since I saw someone in J's chat asking for the quick rundown:
The world of Dark Souls is kept in a perpetual state of stasis by the burning of powerful souls at the First Flame. Over time, this ruined fucking everything in many ways, but most noticeably in the fact that the world itself is broken, impossibly vast and yet also blindly smashed together as the fabric of the world itself is being twisted by the system that keeps the First Flame alive.
By the time of DS3, even those who are raised from the dead to serve the purpose of being souls to sacrifice to the Flame see it as pointless, so they returned to their former lives instead. Your purpose as the Enkindled Ash, a mere scrap of a fire that once burned in that you are nobody, is to slay those who proved unworthy to link the First Flame and become worthy yourself in the process. So that's why you're hunting down a bunch of old dudes.

DS3 was my first souls-like game. Got me addicted to FromSofts titles from then on.
DS3 is the game that I have replayed from start to finish the most, just wanting to do playthroughs with completely different builds each time. I love this game and know where every hidden item is in the base game.
