I always figured the way Fireheart treated Bamblekit/paw was trauma. It's one thing that he got to see how bad Tigerclaw was before everyone else, but Tigerclaw did almost let him drown one time. If Longtail hadn't saved him (a great character moment for him btw) he would have died.
Firestar Ravenpaw and Graystripe all faced trauma from being threatened with their lives by the deputy, that they could be killed off just like he threatened Ravenpaw if they ever told Bluestar about Redtail....But..Ravenpaw and Firestar deffo faced the worst of it, and they both faced different kinds of trauma from the same cat

the fact that tigerclaw’s father left to become a kittypet really explains why he has so much hatred for them. he was most definitely thinking his father didn’t want him anymore, therefore planting a thought in his mind that kittypets are bad.

You know, I always forget that Goldenflower actually made it to the lake territories. In my mind, I always thought she had become an elder before then, and had decided to stay behind in the old forest to die. This really goes to show how little Goldenflower is used in the books; she’s utilized so little to the point I completely forgot she was there in the New Prophecy at all
I love Goldenflower! She's really strong and compassionate. Also I think it would be cool if we got a short story detailing her and Tigerstar's relationship.

3:34 May I point out that perhaps her not being bigoted towards Graystripe's kits was because she grew to realize she had been wrong about Cloudkit having seen him survive and grow? It could have been unspoken character development.
Was it confirmed that her first mate was patchpelt, tigerstar's uncle, which would also make tigerstar swifty's cousin. Warriors family relations are soo odd sometimes, and from a human perspective, would make some things really awkward. Anyway, seen a ton of fans mention they'd like a goldenflower novella, and of course I agree, but we just gotta have patience, the Erin's will make as many books on as many characters as they can. Something that is really great about not having a ton of background on a character, is when they do get their own story, it makes things a lot more interesting. I mean Goldenflower is swiftpaw's mom, I'd love to read about that, and how she must of felt knowing that the cat she gave her heart to is essentially responsible for her son's death. Just gotta have patience, goldenflower will get her time in the sun, and it will be golden.
I really like goldenflower! She is often forgotten because well her death was OFF SCREEN! I think she should have had a bigger role in the books. She's the wife of tigerstar damn it! She needs a novella or a graffic novel or something, I want to know about her and tigerstar's life together, her reaction to mothwing and hawkfrost, more an when tawnypelt left, and her thoughts when tigerstar was found to be an evil serial killer.
There's so much they can do than just her backstory like the other novellas, I NEED a POV book of how she felt throughout the series when she was alive that they could make it a whole book.
Goldenflower is my absolute favorite cat in the entire series. I wish the Erins would have utilized her more. But I'm hopeful that someday they'll give her a novella so we can see how she felt with everything going on. I'd love if it could be called Goldenflower's Guilt, detailing how she felt having been Tigerstar's mate and everything that comes with it, including the ostracizing of her younger children and the death of her oldest. I want to see how she reacted finding out Tawnypaw moved to Shadowclan. How did she feel about moving territories? (I imagine along the way she randomly said something like "when we get there, I'd like to retire to the elder's den" and that's the reason for her abrupt roll change). I especially want to know: did she live long enough to meet her grandchildren, the three? There's still so much to explore with Goldenflower. She was the best queen (imo, of course), and an unintentionally amazing character. Thank you for discussing her. Your analysis videos have been so enjoyable to watch/listen to
I think we would know in Leafpool's Wish if Goldenflower lived long enough to see the Three, but I don't remember.

We need a goldenflower super edition about how she and tigerstar got together and just her character as a whole
You just gave me the idea for an AU where Pinestar leaves ThunderClan to be a kittypet but takes Tigerkit with him (Tigerkit chose to leave, I should say that), leading LEOPARDFOOT to try and do a search-and-destroy mission on Pinestar just to get her "perfect" kit back. But it turns out that Tigerpaw/claw (whichever stage of his life he'd be at) pretty much decided to be a vigilante loner for ThunderClan, trying to solve issues before they get big.
Goldenflower has stated a few times in the books that she loved Tigerclaw, and was devastated by what he became. One of the Erins said to tigerclaw his feelings for goldenflower were just that she would be the perfect mother for his kits and that to tigerclaw his relationship with her was like spiderleg’s relationship with daisy, but goldenflower did love tigerclaw
If the Erins won't give us Goldenflower content, we'll make it ourselves and treat it as canon instead >:D
But seriously she needs a SE so badly. She deserves it more than fucking Onestar. She's so interesting and the way she took it Feather and Storm was so cute. They really did this character dirty because she could've been so much more. I actually think she could've been a good choice for deputy and paralleled Tigerstar far better than Bramblestar did but maybe that's a stretch
I think onestar needed his own book, he was a pretty important character, regardless of how we all feel about him. The good news is, goldenflower will probably get her own book one day, the publishers will have the Erin's cranking out as many books as humanly possible, goldy will get her dues eventually, just gotta be patient.
@@TheAshfurApologist I suppose. Hopefully if mah girl does, it's not as crappy as Onestar's book. But also, Onestar's Confession was not needed. A Onestar book? Maybe? But dear god the one we got was awful, 'justified' horrible actions and added barely anything new or gave us any look into important moments and feelings for him XD
@@zrainyday5266 I agree, onestar's book was a mess, they really didn't do onestar any favors with that super edition, I think fans hate him even more now. I'd like to give the Erin's the benefit of the doubt with Onestar's Confession seeing as it was sprung up on them by the publishers, they were working on another book, I think about Riverstar, and had to rush to get Onestar's book out. Goldenflower won't have that problem, she'll probably get a nice novella eventually, and with a lot of her life being unknown to us, it'll probably be pretty good.
Yeah the Onestar book was the one that finally broke me. I'm not buying another super edition after that...which feels crazy, since I own all the warrior books now. I'll just get the new ones from the library eventually or something if I hear they're actually good. If not, well. No great loss.
I just realized that maybe part of the reason Tigerstar goes on his murderous tirade against the half-clan cats in riverclan is that he was angry at featherpaw and stormpaw for getting the same love and affection as his children from Goldenflower. Obviously he's also driven by disturbing, bigoted ideology as well, but I hadn't considered his personal hatred towards Greystripe's kits.
The Bramblekit/star thing is kinda similar to in wings of fire (A different series in case anyone isn't aware.), Riptide being punished for his father stealing an egg. I feel like people saying that personalities are genetic is kind of stupid, an example being Bramblekit/star or Riptide, both are being punished for something their father has done, yet they turned out good.
Isn't Longtail also Swiftpaw's half-brother? I could totally see Goldenflower viewing Longtail as a newphew figure for that reason, growing attached to her son's big brother in a similarly maternal way as with Graystripe's kits.
I love goldenflower so much and I never quite could figure out why she stuck out so much to me but you put it very well into words. Great video!

Tigerclaw was not born evil, he was DESTINED to become evil not that he was born that way. It's like the Eodypus.
I feel that tiger leaving didn't actually doom him to be evil.
When the father leaves, the responsibility fell to the clan and Firestar. Goldenflower especially made him good
I know that it’s said Swiftpaw’s dad is Patchpelt but I think it would be Way cooler if he was actually half clan and golden’flower had at some point been in a relationship with a cat from a different clan (that I would assume didn’t last long) it make sense why she cares so much for grey’stripes kits cause her own kit was half clan, I also know the forbidden romance plot or really over used nowadays but it also help with the genetic diversity in thunder clan.
I am always annoyed when they say that someone's family when they don't really grieve or show any relationship between said characters x.x
this video inspired me to write a goldenflower based fic about her life and relationship with Tigerclaw, simply because her character had so much protentional. Your ideas and points (that i heavily agree with) will help me write this story to add more protentional to her life, while still feeling like the book. Goldenflower deserved better :(
Honestly, Goldenflower deserved the right to kill Tigerstar. She deserved that. She deserved to defend her kits. She deserved to stand by them, adopted or birthed of her. She deserved MORE.
This is a really cool series/Analysis.
If you don’t mind the idea, When I read Leopardstars honor (or whatever it was called), I couldn’t stop thinking about Tigerstars flirting with leopard fur. It may seem small, but It went on since she became a warrior, and Tigerclaw/star was just made deputy/already mate to Goldenflower. Which means that all he wanted was to gain Leopardstars trust from a young age, as if he already knew the events of the darkest hour- and if you think about it he pretty much Manipulated all of Riverclan and Shadowclan (in the beginning of the first series Thunderclan, too) to trust him.
In my opinion, despite it being a seemingly small topic. It is really messed up and should be mentioned. I know that this was most likely meant to happen, but it makes the books a lot more confusing to read. Plus, no doubt Tigerclaw used Goldenflower to make Thunderclan grow with cats who will stand up for him- but spreading it out to make other clans trust him by *FLIRTING*?!?
So if you make a TigerStar video I think you could add this, or A leopardstar.
(Summary since I am horrible at making points)
In Leopardstars Honor (or whatever it’s called) Tigerclaw is seen flirting, or manipulating Leopardfur to trust him. This leads to a false sense of security around Tigerclaw for most-to-all-clans.
The reason why this is messed up is because Tigerclaw already has a m8, and kits.
Plus, Tigerclaw didn’t know the events of the darkest hour, since he is not a time traveler. So, Why did he want Leopardfur to trust him? I would really like to find that out.
(This was made really late, so if anything is seen as offensive please tell me and I will delete the comment. I just thought it would be something to mention)
I don't remember Tigerstar flirting with Leopardstar before they were leaders? I do remember they had conversations, but not with any flirty undertones. I can't see why Tigerstar would flirt considering he still had a kit maker at that time.
Good point, I’m looking back and that doesn’t look correct. But he does compliment her sometimes.
I guess I'm wrong, but I remember reading that Goldenflower died before Midnight. I've only read that series once and she's barely (or not) mentioned which probably reinforced my mistake.
I stand by the statement that warrior cats in just one giant continuity error.

All i can say is early Bramble had so much potential and it ended up squandered because they wanted to inject more anst. Not sure how much of that was the main writer of The New Prophecy not knowing enough about the character or them not knowing how to create drama with Brambleclaw where he should have been at the start (far more interesting, maybe have him be afraid of leading because he hates everything his father stood for but maybe a little of Firestar's old mistrust sunk into him, maybe he's afraid that having any amount of power will turn him into his father. Have him end the second series as deputy still but it's a far easier to work with base (what I would have wanted to do with him)). But no, they had him wanting to prove himself and learning to reject his father again. Again the dude is squandered potential and he is a favorite of mine only for the potential he once had to be a great character.

Yea fair. There were so many chunks in this NOT dedicated to Goldenflower that I felt bad analyzing another character, but yeah I could’ve definetly gone into Fireheart more. He is nuanced. I actually have an old script about Fireheart and some of his trauma, maybe I’ll dust it off? Idk

Like the way tigerstar was killled was badass, but it wouldve been even more badass if goldenflower did it, if we could see her rage and stuff, itend to associate tigerstar with an abusive stepdad i had for a decade and i feel the authors totally missed a chance to create a detailed analysis on abuse and to make one of the most badass supermoms ever.

I do want to mention that there is a another queen who we literally only know of in the first book and she’s never brought up again. She’s not even name she’s just a shitty cat with distinctive tabby markings and a few kits
And brambleclaw character arc from the second series is thrown out the window and he becomes abusive. He might not be like his father in some aspects but he definitely is not a good guy

I feel like I must have if she was in the second series.
You're probably thinking about Thistleclaw saying that about Snowfur to Silverhawk in the dark forest, in Crookedstar's Promise. When Silverhawk asked if he was sad about his mate's passing, Thistleclaw told Silverhawk that Snowfur was weak anyway, and that Whitekit was like his mother.

I really would like if you would do rain flower because of her and crooked kit and how she was probably the the worst mother in the Whole fandom. She’s very selfish but also there’s the medicine cat who is there for crooked kit , she’s more of a mother to crooked kit than rain flower would ever be because rain flower unlike golden flower and gray stripes kits she looks at her son with discuss and hate and I feel she needs a video about her not only her and crooked kit but also her other son, she keeps her other son by her side 20.4.7 but pushes crooked kit away like he’s crow-food and than when crooked kit grew up he grew up to have sliver stream so a video ether about crooked star/kit or rain flower.

It’s pretty accurate because of how they are displayed in the books 😂
There are exceptions where kittypets are pretty strong, but the books still portray most of them as being lazy and weak (even moreso than real housecats)
Feral cats are huge compared to housecats and considering how often battles happened in the first series I think it's entirely reasonable to be concerned over the safety of a kittypet in the clans.
Besides, the word "bigotry" is so overused by everyone nowadays, it seems to be the favourite word for "people saying things I dislike"

But the story is told through the eyes of the clans, which obviously think they are superior to kittypets and heavily look down on them. Bigotry is a word which just works in this situation 🤷 not that deep, its accurate.
